Just been able to test this and the only annoying thing in the combat logs from using it are the 'Flying!' 'Not flying' messages as usual.

Just wanted to throw this up here, (not sure how old some of these commands are and if they changed or not since thier posting) but, City of Heroes Bind Macros

Might give you a few more ideas on new keybinds with Khelds, thats how I got started.

Some really great stuff in here.

One thing for me though, I don't use the tab key to cycle all the voids, quants, and cysts because I find sometimes I want to target other enemies (a lot of times it will target a cyst in a faraway spawn when I'm trying to cycle through the current spawn). I just keep tab for normal enemies and use another key for voids/quants/cysts/sappers.

Also, in using a bind to target a corpse for fluffy production, I much prefer to cycle through the next defeated enemy instead of the nearest, just to make sure I can cycle to one I know I just saw go down and not end up losing that fluffy to corpse-disappearance.

Edit: And in case anyone messes up while experimenting with these and binds, say, their 1 key to follow or something, you can use "/unbind [key]." (Was really frustrating when I couldn't figure out why some of my number keys weren't working anymore until I used this).

I've been using this bind and realized some others might want it too.

/bind [key] "powexecname Grant Invisibility$$targetcustomnext Extracted Essence"

Not massively useful, but it is a quick way to give your fluffies each a small survival buff between mobs. If you already have Grant Invisibility anyway for an LotG mule, why not?

Edit: This works better as /bind [key] "targetcustomnext mypet$$powexecname Grant Invisibility" after testing

Ooooh. One of those things that's so simple it's genius! Good one!

EDIT - changed the OP to include it.

Followup:
Most of my binds work perfectly... except the teleport part. Sometimes I get a reticle showing up and have to activate the bind again for it to go off..
So I've been following this thread
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...=teleport+bind
which states that lclick is not a valid keyname and that it should be Lbutton.

I'm hopeful wit ha reworking of some of the binds that I get it to the point that the reticle does NOT show up, and that the binds work as my stone tanks teleport does.

btw I've managed to mess up most of my bins.. i'm copy pasting from a .txt document... but that isn't working out so well.

Well after 6 hours of playing around and with the great help of @profit I was able to get my teleporting the way I wanted to.
But first with a bit of a background. I play left handed and I use the Right shift key to jump (smaller hands) so I needed a solution to allow me to jump with the right shift key.
That meant that chrording (Combining a Ctrl;shift;alt key) + another key was out.
That meant I had other options.. assigning a different chord with shadow step and black dwarf step; or set up a .txt load file.
I thought the first way was a bit too clunky and with my keyboard I don't have many chording options that I'd like to.
So ultimately I set up the following Keys:

/bind numpad1 "powexec_toggleoff black dwarf$$powexec_toggleoff dark nova$$goto_tray 1$$inspexecname escape$$ inspexecname emerge$$ inspexecname break_free$$bindloadfilesilent "c:\program files\city of heroes\warshadetp1.txt""

This sets up human form, eats a break free of a sort and loads warshadetp1.txt file The contents are:
ctrl+lbutton "powexec_name shadow step"

Then I set up Black Dwarf form:
/bind numpad3 "powexec_toggleon black dwarf$$goto_tray 4$$bindloadfilesilent "c:\program files\city of heroes\warshadetp2.txt""

and the warshadetp2.txt file is:
ctrl+lbutton "powexec_name black dwarf step"

So this rewrites the same chord option for each form. Now I simply hold down control (rctrl) for me and click to go. Also the sequence in the .txt files needed to be the way they are. Also note that my .txt files are in the folder with the Coh .exe file

I hope this helps out. You don't want to know how many times I needed to reset my keyboard trying to stop the chord.

my teleport bind keeps showing up in my window when i switch to human form.

NUMPAD1 "powexec_toggle_off Black Dwarf$$bindloadfilesilent C:\binds\teleport.txt$$goto_tray 1$$powexec_toggle_on Gravity Shield"

any ideas why?

Taxibot Joe had a great idea for multiple Powexec_name commands in another thread, and I thought I'd quote what he said here for posterity, since he said it so well!

when you bind multiple pow exec to a single key, only the power on the right gets executed and the rest are never reached, but more interestingly, powers you don't have are ignored

for example: area healing
/bind numpad0 "pwexecname Healing Aura$$powexec Transfusion$$powexec Twilight Grasp"

since you could only have one of those powers, when you hit the zero, the one you have will be executed

once you take into account the extra power trays and overriding the default keys, using this method on a Kheld gets even more interesting

example follows

starting with a PB with nova & dwarf forms as well as Gleaming Bolt & Blast

put your dwarf & nova powers in trays 4 & 5 (not that it matters) and leave them open

create a bind file so:
ADD "powexec_toggleon Bright Nova"
SUBTRACT "powexec_toggleon White Dwarf"
NUMPADENTER "powexec_toggleoff Dark Nova$$powexec_toggleoff White Dwarf"
1 "powexecname White Dwarf Smite$$powexecname Bright Nova Blast$$powexecname Gleaming Blast"
2 "powexecname White Dwarf Strike$$powexecname Bright Nova Bolt$$powexecname Gleaming Bolt"

now, without swapping trays, key 1 always fires the strong attack and key 2 will always fire the weak attack of whichever form you're running at the moment

so if you get knocked out of nova, the 1 & 2 keys will fire attacks without having to swap the trays around

note: this does not work with powers not chosen or chosen by virtue of being in a form
I edited the main post with this information. Thanks again, Joe!

I just made 2 new binds using what i learned here and a little trial and error that might make you cry with joy.

/bind [key] "+down$$powexec_auto stygian circle$$powexec_name black dwarf"

Simply when you hold down the bound key you will drop out of dwarf form and use stygian circle and when you release the key you will pop back into dwarf form. As an added kicker it also removes the auto power from stygian circle so it will work properly the next time as well!

/bind [key] "+down$$target_custom_next enemy defeated$$powexec_auto dark extraction$$powexec_name black dwarf"

This one is the same idea except it will target a downed enemy and summon a fluffy! and as soon as that long summoning animation is done you will go right back to dwarf form.

For those more clicky types out there it seems you can macro this:

powexec_auto stygian circle$$powexec_name black dwarf

and all you have to do is click it twice real fast for the same effect as the key bind.

I am a macro type of guy and I was wondering if anyone has a macro for my PB? I need one macro to toggle on Shining Shield, Thermal Shield, and Quantum Shield. Then I need a second Macro to toggle on Acrobatics, Super Speed, Super Jump, and Tactics. Thinking of dropping a power to pick up Dwarf. Thanks for your help.

Don't know how I missed this post for so long, Soto, sorry about that! - This macro will do everything you requested for the first macro(but keep reading for my recommendation):

/macro 1 "powexec_toggleoff white dwarf$$goto_tray 1$$powexec_toggleon quantum shield$$powexec_name thermal shield$$powexec_auto shining shield"

In addition to dropping you to human form and swapping your bottom tray to the tray with the human powers, what it does is use three separate and distinct command strings to indirectly call up all three shield toggles. Powexec_name will activate it directly, Powexec_toggleon sets the toggle status of another to on (indirectly activating it) and powexec_auto changes the status of the third shield's autofire feature to "on" (also indirectly activating it).

A word of warning whenever you're using powexec_auto - hitting it the first time will set the auto status to "on" but the second time you need it it will set that to "off" and so shining shield won't fire. You will likely be better off to set shining shield to autofire by control-clicking it manually and leaving that part out of the macro as follows:

/macro 1 "powexec_toggleoff white dwarf$$goto_tray 1$$powexec_toggleon quantum shield$$powexec_name thermal shield"

Otherwise if you need the macro more than once in a match you'll have a real mess on your hands.

The second macro you need might also be problematic, depending on your playstyle. It takes some setup. Start with this:

/macro 2 "powexec_toggleon Acrobatics$$powexec_name tactics"

Now, you can do one of two things: you can edit your macro or you can utilize some binds. I recommend the latter but let's start with the first:

Right click the macro in your tray and select the "edit macro" option. Don't know if you've ever edited a macro before, but this part is a little.... finicky... so the less keys you hit the better.

Anyway, when you select "edit macro" you'll see the little popup window appear with your command string in it. Notice there are no longer quotes around your commands. Click the end of the command string one time to place your cursor there and paste the following in (probably best if you don't type it in):

$$bind w "+forward$$powexec_toggleon super speed"$$bind space "+up$$powexec_toggleon super jump"

Once that's in place at the end of the macro, the entire command string should look like this:

powexec_toggleon Acrobatics$$powexec_name tactics$$bind w "+forward$$powexec_toggleon super speed"$$bind space "+up$$powexec_toggleon super jump"

Hit the "Okay" button to save the changes. What this extra bit does is - instead of activating the travel toggles outright - binds the keys you would use to travel so that they activate the powers for you on demand, leaving them on until you switch forms again.

A better option IMHO would be to just go ahead and bind those keys permanently. Paste this string into your chat window:

/bind w "+forward$$powexec_toggleon super speed"$$bind s "+backward$$powexec_toggleon super speed"$$bind a "+left$$powexec_toggleon super speed"$$bind d "+right$$powexec_toggleon super speed"$$bind space "+up$$powexec_toggleon super jump

This way, regardless of whether those powers are running and regardless of which movement key you hit you will toggle the relevant movement power on and leave it on until you switch to dwarf form.

However, this might only be desirable if your pb is exclusively pvp. You might not want those keys permanently bound to travel powers for pve, and what I did for my pvp/e toons was use two more macros:

/macro pve "unbind w$$unbind a$$unbind s$$unbind d$$unbind space"

Now for the pvp macro you'll have to edit as above. Start with:

/macro pvp bindloadfile c:\pvp.txt

and put the following on your c: drive in a text file named "pvp":

w "+forward$$powexec_toggleon super speed"
s "+backward$$powexec_toggleon super speed"
a "+left$$powexec_toggleon super speed"
d "+right$$powexec_toggleon super speed"
space "+up$$powexec_toggleon super jump"

And done.

I know I presented a lot of options, but I wanted to be as thorough as I could in the hope that you would find something that worked best for you. Let me know if you need any more help.

My recomendations are in bold, and should leave you with the following:

One macro called "1" that will drop dwarf form and toggle your thermal and quantum shields on

Shining Shield manually set to auto fire

One macro called "2" that will toggle on your tactics and acrobatics on

One macro called "pvp" that will load up the file pvp.txt from your c drive and bind all your movement keys to toggle the relevent travel power on

One macro called "pve" that unbinds all movement keys.

Hope I wasn't too confusing. If you need any more help let me know.

I've got an issue with this bind:

Quote:
/bind tab "target_custom_next alive quantum$$target_custom_next alive void$$target_custom_next alive cyst$$target_enemy_next"
For some strange reason this bind is targetting "Nebula Elite" Council targets and sticking with them, even if they're standing right next to a Galaxy Quantum.

Anyone else having this issue?

Edit: never mind, this seemed to solve the problem

Quote:
/bind TAB "targetenemynext$$ targetcustomnext enemy quantum$$ targetcustomnext enemy void$$ targetcustomnext enemy cyst$$ targetcustomnext enemy alive$$ targetcustomprev enemy alive"

I made some macros based off of these binds. What they do was i have a nova and dwrf macros on the far right of my power slot 1. They change the active tray to that form's tray and changes to that form. in that form i have macros with the same name except it turns the active one off or if you click the other form's macro turns that one on. I'll post them in here when I get on the computer that the macros are on.

Did the way that macros work change since this post? This worked with my warshade just fine until she got Black Dwarf, at which point it would only work while in dwarf form.

Me too! I had the same problem with the TP bind after I got Dwarf.

Yeah - this bind isn't working. A simpler way to do it with one key combination is to put your black dwarf step and your shadow step powers in slot 10 of their respective trays.

The bind would then look like this:

/bind shift+lbutton powexec_slot 10

Since you'll be switching trays with forms, then you'll always be assured that whatever power that is in slot 10 will be the one activated, regardless of which tray you've got active (in the bottom position). Since you've put the teleport powers in slot ten in their respective trays, you'll have no conflicts.

Another way to do it is to rebind shift+lbutton in your form switching binds. Looks like this:

/bind [key] "powexec_toggleoff black dwarf$$powexec_toggleoff dark nova$$goto_tray 1$$bind lshift+lbutton shadow step"

/bind [key] "powexec_toggleon black dwarf$$goto_tray 8$$bind lshift_lbutton black dwarf step"

Hope that helps - I've got several sections of the main post to edit with disclaimers, now.

Joe, I thought slots were listed somewhat oddly, such that if you wanted to execute what shows as slot number 10 (or 0) on your screen your bind would have to be "slot 9".

In other words,
slot 1 is named slot 0 internally, and 2 is named 1, etc. all the way up to slot 0 = 9 internally
