I am truly astounded by this fact even though I know I shouldn't be.
I didn't mention that not getting the badge is directly influencing my desire to quit.
Only that all I have to look forward to is the same repetition untill Q2 of 2010 for Going rogue instead of hoping that the beta will end up being sooner. I said I was getting "burnt out" on the game as I have on several others where I just end up getting bored and move on for awhile.
Not getting into the beta just gave me a decent excuse to move elsewhere for awhile till GR comes out.
and now I'm pondering goin back to Anarchy Online...

I don't see it as a sob story, I see it as unforseen circumstances beyond my immediate control. as in me getting paid on Wendsday instead of Friday. and I don't have a calandar I look at every day of every month to see what day is on when. The 26th of October was a Monday, 2 days before I got paid.
    End. Of. Story.

Think about what your biggest priority is. It's not the game. Maybe walking away for awhile is the best option?
Thats the point as well, I've played several MMO's (SWG, The Matrix Online, Evercrack, WoW) and got to the point where it was more repetitive than fun. If I end up pulling the plug on the 28th. I might come back when GR comes out but probally not before as it was the beta that was keeping the money coming off my card to NCSoft.
Now it seems thats no longer there so *shrugs* Q2 of 2010 I guess.

GI: I am at least sorry for your troubles, both monetary and otherwise, but I do have to agree that these issues make the fact that you're complaining about not getting a badge that you don't qualify for a little silly. And the fact that you only make $180 a week puts you well below the poverty line. I'm sure there are circumstances that you don't want to discuss here, and in fact definitely shouldn't discuss in this thread, but you either need to get a second job or a better paying one, or else you'll continue to be stuck in this paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle and you'll never build up any sort of emergency savings. </parental figure>

We either need to get back to the subject at hand, or, as is probably the case, let this thread die. Or we can keep going on this way until a mod locks it.
Currently unemployed, that 180 is my unemployment check. I just love the unemployment rate in the state I live in... its awesome [/sarcasm]

TBH like most, this might make or break my sub as it has for others. I know in the end I'm a drop in the bucket for NCSoft and that doesn't really matter to them (and besides I've been feeling a bit burnt-out lately with CoX)
10-1 I'll go back to Oblivion modding and playing that to keep myself busy between jobdango/monster/craigslist searches but this Beta access was one of the few things keeping me intrested and now it appears that might be gone. I've pleaded my case ad-nauseum to support in this last E-mail to them.
How they respond is going to make the decision to stay or go.
2 days till my sub expires again (I do month-to-month) and I've been contemplating letting it stay that way.

Should I start complaining a lot about how unfair it is, or shrug, go "it's just a badge" and move on? I chose the latter. It's one badge out of almost 700. It won't kill me.
The celebrant badge is just that. A badge.
The Loyalty badge is not just a badge, its 3rd tier beta access to GR. (or is it 4th... anyway)
This is one of the few things keeping me intrested in this game as stated above. If the beta access is denied, NCSoft can expect me to not be renewing my sub on the 28th.
  6. Account: Created On:Jun 9, 2009
You dismiss life is hard stories because your life has never been "hard"
Anyway, I still made my payments where applicable and because of something Out of my direct control (AKA The dates I get paid) I was unable to pay on the 26th because it came before my usual payment day (Wendsday) in October.
Something I stated way far back but yet you trolls like to nit-pick parts of the message that have nothing to do with the end result..
    I'm done.
  7. This thread is about the loyalty badge, not someones ability to quit smoking.
And you haven't walked a day in my shoes to know how rough it is where I'm at. So don't assume you know everything when in fact, you know nothing.

And really, are you suggesting that the program was deliberate constructed to discriminate against people who smoke?
He made the mention of cutting off my cigs when in the end that would cause me stress, and possible panic attacks later on down the line. Perhaps causing me my home, any future job I might get (in the middle of quitting) or friends because I flipped out on them.
I can't afford the medication for what I have and this is the closest thing I got. Back to the "loyalty" badge now plz kthxbai.

They mentioned it about a month BEFORE it happened. There were repeated announcements during the entire duration, but there was plenty of warning before the period started.
says the non-smoker (probally) Quitting isn't as easy as counting backwards from 10 you know.
And Quitting is actually MORE expensive then continuing the habit.

Funny how what I quoted says $45 and what it now says is $180.
Sorry but not everybody can afford $180 bucks in this country where the unemployment rate nationwide is at a all time high.

If you seriously want to receive a promotion reward, take measures to ensure you fit the promotion's rules, never leave things in Murphy's Law hands.

That said, I hope that the badge will award again in the future as part of other 3-month "loyalty" promotions. We already have too many one-off badges and I'm not happy with the gap getting larger and larger between old badge hunters and new.
Wait a second here. Some guy just explained his money deal and your advice is to pay 3 months in advance!? Did you get tips from Dr. Phil for that logic?!
And the fact they didn't mention this "Loyalty" badge till almost 2 months in from the cutoff date to the General Populace of players.
  10. My issue is, I get paid WEEKLY. Sometimes that weekly check is barely enough to survive through the week. ($181.00 a week, $80.00 for rent and food, $20.00 for my phone bill, $35.00 for my rent-to-own laptop payment, Misc charges for food, drink and smokes) So honestly to squeeze in a CoH Sub every month between all this struggling, THATS loyalty to the brand.

(I'm not religious or anything here)
Jesus praised a man who gave little rather than the man who gave alot because the man who gave alot, possessed alot more where the man who gave little, relinquished his last coin.

Loyalty isn't measured in time but what it takes to continue that time. And I'm not going to beg on the streets to get 15 bucks just to keep my CoX payment completely current. I'm going to wait untill wendsday when I get my money to budget it out again and pay the monthly so I can continue playing.

I must say this has indeed soured my experience however.
  11. Welp, I'm apparently SOL on the badge AND beta. Even if my card WAS on auto pay, it still would of failed the payment and I STILL would of had to wait till the 28th to be able to pay it.
Not my fault I get paid on wendsday and not my fault my life is sometimes too busy to keep track of what day is what. Thats why theres autopay. And even then that system fails.

After reviewing the information you provided, your account is not eligible for the Loyalty Badge due the fact that your account was inactive for longer than 24 hours. We do not have the ability to apply this badge to your account. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please let us know.
  12. And another one, this time with huge body types and "robotic arm 2"

I don't know what the heck is goin on with this one but the Robotic arm2 shows up just fine on normal and female body types....
and now it seems to be back to normal... This seems wierd though like the geo for the arm had it all crushed up into one point.
  13. ...
hmm. well at least you got the drivers updated (I'm assuming) thats a good thing.

Next thing to try is deleting the following files from the piggs folder in city of heroes,
    texFxGuiItems.pigg
    texGui1.pigg
    texGui2.pigg
    texPlayersUI.pigg
and restart the launcher and allow it to download these files (116MB or 122,649,954 bytes)
On a fast connection this shouldn't take too long.
Cross yer fingers. If this still doesnt work I would belive it to be a rendering issue and I'm not wholly sure if CoX uses DirectX or OpenGL for rendering

I'm pretty sure you have already tried the usual /reloadgfx and /unloadgfx as well. (and besides those only work when your in-game. Restarting the client has the same effect)

... Stop me before I go blind... please?
Wait... Just one more outfit... srsly plz!
NUUUUUU!!!! *gets torn away from the computer*
  15. Just got a E-Mail back asking for the PayPal transaction ID's for the payments I made.
Hopefully I get it, even though I get paid kinda strangely on Wendsday instead of Friday and in October it seems I was 2 days off because the 26th (the usual day I pay) came on a Monday instead of afterwards like September, August and, November.
  16. Don't use the setup, but the zip file.
    (It's kinda advanced)
Go into your device manager in your control panel accessible through "Administrative tools" then Computer Management
Find Device manager in the left window and click (if classic mode is enabled, if not use the next one)
Click "System and Maintnence" then under Device manager, click "View hardware and Devices" (You MUST have administrative privs on the account your currently logged into to access this)
after the UAC window pops up, click continue, then when the driver window opens, click on "Display Adapters"
select your display (should be the only one unless you have multiple vid cards. However by your DxDiag I am assuming your on a laptop so it should be the only one there)
Right click the display and select "Update driver software..."
Click "Browse my computer for driver software"
Then click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
on the next window, click "Have disk"
Browse to where you unzipped the video drivers.
(thankfully you don't have to wait for me to finish downloading the driver for my own chipset as I just had to regretably wipe my computer back to factory... My windows drivers got corrupted. JOY! I lost all my bookmarks and movies and music and etc. etc. etc.... Thankfully I was able to burn my entire CoX folder to a DVD )
    now I unzipped mine to
    C:\Users\Stygian Renegade\Downloads\winvista_15124
    your's should be similar
if yours was the same as mine, you would browse to the following location in the "Install from disk" dialog,
    C:\Users\Stygian Renegade\Downloads\winvista_15124\Graphics
click the igdlh.inf (or whatever INF file is in that folder) and hit open.
click on "OK" on the "Install from disk" dialog
The driver should now show in the list on the "Select driver" screen
    Hit Next...
It should start installing the updated driver. It MAY go all QQ on the driver but I highly doubt it. If it does just hit whatever button that will make it continue installing.
Your screen will flash and you will hear the "disconnected hardware" audio and the "connected hardware" audio signifying the driver has indeed updated itself.
Next up is the Success screen! Wewt!
Now its time to reboot and enjoy your updated driver that totally doesn't exist on your Laptop Manufacturers website... seriously, why don't they update them drivers...
Anyway that will help ALOT with about anything graphic-wise.
and Yes, Vista SP2 will help with alot of stability issues as well.

But definately update your video driver as well. This will help alot and allow you have a few more options inside CoX graphics wise.
(like me, bumpmapping. Old drivers=No bumpmapping options(greyed out) updated driver=no bumpmapping, player bumpmapping or player and world bumpmapping )
    Good luck buddy!

*starts blasting Nerdcore as soon as all the music from his MP3 player copies over*

Ok, someone is gonna toss the usual "Card is not supported" BS that I hate hearing, I run a Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset and CoX works fine.

Try to manually update your video driver by getting this, http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...=2991&lang=eng
that's a zip file and upon extracting for installing the driver search on the disk and select location manually. Update using the files in that zip and 10-1 you will see a huge performance boost for one (screw the fact that the people who make your laptop have "specialized" drivers for your system and just use the ones straight from the developer)
Something else I can suggest is perhaps a re-install to see if that fixes the graphics. (Be sure to save your MA folder and costume folder so you don't lose any designs before you uninstall)

  21. I forgot to mention as well a defrag is always handy too if you haven't done it for about 2 weeks to a month.
  22. Not word for word but in sharkhead with the luddidtes,
    around-about the following,

"So does this mean I have to throw away my PSP?"

  24. a DxDiag log may be useful as well and can be hosted at http://www.freetexthost.com to keep from clogging the forums.
This could be a video issue, or a missing texture issue. to which I would remove the Coh.checksum file from your City of Heroes main folder and restart the updater.
No guarantee it will work, but its a start and you always gotta start with the easy stuff first.

the other question I have to ask is, do you have "copy colors across powerset" selected?
Sometimes some powers have different palettes than others and when you go to change them, they all change or revert.
