can my corr tank
Psst, sig should spell "quietly".
Additionally, there are no tanks red-side, so making a new AT for yourself? ^_^

In short: no
Traps while not the powerhouse it once was, can indeed be tanky. I would get some more +def and +hp/regen. With some good recharge and dropping mortars you will do more than fine.
Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.
How would you hold aggro? That's a nice survivable build but I don't see how you'd actually Tank with it.
A single hecatomb in brawl.. wow, epic build failure that'll require Smurphish levels of cash and still suck.
I'd start completely from scratch, figure out what stats you want to focus on, learn which sets provide those stats, and determine how to put those sets into your powers in an effective way.
<n< Baw don't listen to them being rude, but do try to keep that mids output from getting too long it can be annoying.
Now~
Botom line can you tank: With that build? Unlikely.
There is alot of big ticket items in there but there is no focus in what you are trying to accomplish. You got lots of little bonus's all over the place.
To get you started to be a tank on a corr focus on ranged defense set bonus, in total (with toggles/etc) you need 45% to overcome most even-level enemies in the game. This will go a long way to protect you from status effects and whatever else come across your path. After that Smashing/Lethal Resistance.
After that its just a matter of your skill in using the corruptor effectively. However you won't be able to "tank" for a team, while you will be able to personally survive you wont be able to hold agro well enough for others to get by solely on your effort.
YMMV
*edit* Don't use expensive IO's just because they are expensive. Even In todays market you can build a very tanker-ish corruptor for only around 100mil rather then the Multi-billion build you posted up.
D: Toss me a hai @DarkNat My Fify glory: Renzer Dark/Dark Corr., Renzro Dark/Dark Def., Amartasu Dark/Dark Scrap.Less important ones: Fire/Fire Blaster,Ice/Ice Blaster,Ele/Ele Brute, Mind/Storm Troll,Fire/Kin Corr.,Bots/FF MM., DB/Regen Scrap.
While frankenslotting is effective, most of the better set bonus' come from slotting 4 or more of a single set is relatively more effective. You can throw out Acrobatics, it isn't needed and just slot for KB protect through sets. I recommend getting only one travel power, and since it appears you want to cap range defense obviously that gets rid of super jump. Since combat jumping and hover are mutually exclusive, you cannot have both active, they are only there for set bonus'
Also at a rough estimate you are probably looking at spending at least 600 million infamy, but depending on how you use the market it can go upwards of 800 mill easy.
Kinda hard to tank if you have no means of holding aggro.
If you're looking for to build a tank redside then a Brute is the AT best suited for the task IMO, especially with those pockets you seem to have for that proposed build.
Try a stormie to get all the attention you would ever need.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
I don't see how the definition you used can't apply to Corruptors. I especially can't comprehend it when Corruptors have things like teammate buffs that they can give each other, eat inspirations, get patron shields and tough/weave, IO bonuses... should I stop now?
I think the definition of tank differs to people in different MMOs with possibly this one being the strictest. To even think that a corrupter can tank in this one is heresy. Tank?..No. Tankmage? Oh yes.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

Can your corruptor keep my Spines/fire scrapper who is shooting everything he can at max speed with both auras blazing from getting killed? If so then it can tank. If not then nope.
You are very strange.
Even with Provoke 6 slotted you still won't be doing a lot of tanking, especially in our new world of fighting +4/x8 spawns. Even MMs in BG who are possibly the most survivable toons redside have trouble keeping aggro away from his teammates AND the AoE splashing the pets.
Getting a handful of corruptors to cross-buff each other, eat candy and steamroll through content is an effective tactic, but it is by no means tanking.
Tanking is more than surviving the aggro and the alpha.. many toons can do that..
Holding the aggro is a different story.
The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.
If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

For example, I was on a full hero team with a bubbles defender who thought he was the bee's knees. Before we entered one room, he decided he wanted to herd the room up because he could.
He turned on his PFF and gleefully bounded around the room, pulling all the mobs with him. He did a really nice job of herding the mobs to a point and bunching them up like a tank would.
BUT HE COULDN'T HOLD ANY AGGRO LIKE A TANK.
The multitude of mobs he had so expertly herded immediately turned their attention to the remaining seven members of the defender's team, swarmed them and quickly slaughtered them. A complete team wipe because he wasn't a tank -- he couldn't hold aggro and keep the multitude of mobs focused on him while the rest of the team blasted away.
Same goes for a corrupter trying the same thing. The right build can take an alpha and maybe herd, but it can't protect the team by keeping the mobs focused only on itself.
What if the enemies don't have a second shot?
What if the first shot kills the team?
Then you should stop trying to fight in Grandville as a level 6.
You guys keep saying a lot of silly things splitting hairs on the definition of Tanking.
You can go in first on any archetype if you've got some knowledge, skill and experience. You can soak up all the shots that matter. You can live. All the bad guys can die. If you don't want to call that Tanking that's fine. But your silly statements about running around with your scrapper or PFFing a whole room sound like they go over the aggro cap. The actual City of Heroes "Tank" archetype can't do anything about those outrageous examples you guys came up with too. The actual City of Heroes archetype "Tank" also can die in 1 shot.
Back to the topic, Force Field Generator makes it tough. You've got to always keep in mind where it is and when it's alive. Acrobatics and Hover seem like they both can handle the same purpose.

Of course a Tank in CoX cna be one-shotted. I was merely tossing out a rhetorical question to show doing so was a poor attempt at proving a poor point.
Most Corrs can be built, with IOs, to become very sturdy and surviable but I wouldn't suggest they could Tank. And by "tank," I mean match the aggro control and survivability of the average, same level, same IOed Tank AT.
this is the build i got it plays ok looks good but i want some feed back.just wonder if ppl think this toon could tank well
