More GMs on Redside plz

I don't know about the rest, but I love taking on giant monsters. I have a corruptor that is my designated monster-hunter. However he is getting impatient waiting for GR to come out so he can go hunt down Jack in Irons, Paladin, and all the other monsters that Blueside get. And even when he finally gets the badges for those guys, he will want more.

Can we get more GMs on Redside? 4 badges for giant monsters seems kinda stingy. It's bad enough we have to get ripped off on the epic powers, but we have to just kill deathsurge, arachnos flyers, zombies, and the scrapyard ghost for our monster fix?

I would love this, especially if it's an actual Giant Monster, and not just a normal-sized baddie labeled so (I'm looking at you, Ghost of Scrapyard and Caleb). Examples: Lusca, Jack in Irons, Eochai, the Clockwork GMs. Preferably a villain-side GM would be something that a villain would want to actively go after, for profit or just for kicks. Maybe a GM with a heroic bent?

I can understand complaining about Scrappy (he's still larger than a normal enemy, but he's the smallest GM), but Caleb is not the size of a normal enemy. Not by a long shot.

Caleb is about the same size as Babbage or Paladin, and he's bigger than U'Kon Gr'ai, Kraken, or Adamastor (or Deathsurge/Ghost of Scrapyard). And Caleb is only a bit smaller than Jack in Irons.

Left to right: Ms. Liberty, Ghost of Scrapyard, Deathsurge, Adamastor, Kraken, U'Kon Gr'ai, Paladin, Babbage, Caleb, Jack in Irons

Hm. Must have forgotten on account of not seeing him very often. It has been a while...

The pic I posted was _Tiny.jpg. Above is .jpg. There's also _Small.jpg (Hydra to Kronos), _Medium.jpg (Flier to Jade Spider), and _Large.jpg (just Rularuu and Hami)

See look at all those awesome monsters and most are blueside. I don't play wow but I hear there are tons of Rularuu-size monsters on there. And it's a given that everyone that participates has that accomplished mindframe after decimating a GM. Heck, maybe even have a big raid with a GM or two at the end for lvl 50's. Nonononono, wait, that would be end-game content wouldn't it? lol

I agree, an end-game raid featuring an enormous GM would be awesome.

The real issue is that, in most cases, each GM has a different Zone they call "home". There are FAR more Blue Side zones than there are Red Side zones. Sad, but true.

Ah, you mean like Stheno?

I agree about Stheno. They should have made her a Giant Monster for Mercy Island. Or even just a Monster so lowbies have a challenging chance.

Intro zone of Mercy I am not too fond on having one there. But I would say put one in Port Oakes. A good intro point to GMs for vills.

Monsters are not very different from AVs (generally, they've got a bit more HP and don't have PToD), and Stheno is an AV already.

Maybe it's just me but when I hear 'Giant Monster' I picture something along the lines of Godzilla.

We need a mega monster that only appears once every few months, have it roam thru 2 or 3 zones until it's stopped.

It'd be so cool to zone into Steel Canyon. Your standing next to posi when you start to hear loud thumps.
You look down the street and see a giant tail vanish between buildings, you fly up to get a better look and notice a gigantic head looming over the buildings...

Ok, so it'd never see the light of day in this game but it'd still be cool!

I still have hope that 'The Coming Storm' will see Rularuu finally unleashed though.

I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something I loved from my childhood. Something that could never ever possibly destroy us. Mr. Stay Puft.

Badging in a PvP zone?

If you are treasure hunting on a battlefield wearing an enemy uniform, there is a high probability that you will be attacked.

This is an enjoy-the-ride game. "50" is only a number, not the goal of the game. - Noxilicious

Ray has gone bye-bye, Egon... what've you got left?

Personally I always thought Lusca should show up in the Rogue Isles.

COME ON DEVS! What is the logic of having a whole bunch of Villains many are Mad Scientist and none have an escaped Giant Monster of Death on the loose?

Posted

Redside Lusca would be thematic.

Port Oakes, St Martial and maybe Mercy Island need GMs of their own.

Mega Mek Man GM. You know you want it, you know you want to beat the crap out of it.

Though I guess aside from Sharkhead Island and its Council base, the only other zone in the entire game it would fit in would be Striga Island, and that's blue-side.

I just wanna beat up a giant robot, you know? Aside from Kronos, anyway.

All redside needs is Leviathan. Instead of beating the heck out of his eyeball on that TF, just have the whole thing summoned in the water off Sharks...

St. Martial does have a Longbow Ballista that pops up every now and then, although he's not announced on the zone event channel. Defeating him on my Thugs/Pain granted that toon the Villain badge (1000 Longbow) in a rather awesome moment.

Stheno, as an AV, is inside a mission that comes with a warning to bring friends and the ability to downgrade her to an EB. If you run around a corner and right into her, you knew she was somewhere in there and you're supposed to defeat her.

GMs are entirely different. The announcement comes up when they spawn, but you could be offline at the time and miss it. No one specifically warns you to go to travel the area with an armed entourage because there's a GM on the loose. You have no way to downgrade a GM because you're solo. You also have no travel power to evade one. You don't even get a temp travel power until you move on to Port Oakes.

There are no GMs in Atlas Park or Galaxy either and I think it's for good reason. The first GM you see blue side is the Kraken, which is in a hazard zone. I think more GMs on the red side is a great idea, but I agree that Mercy isn't the place.
