Also people are entitled to not like the OP because of his stances about any kind of subject.
I have yet to find any of his posts, but if I dont like the way he does it, i will rep-. But I always sign my reps, and explain the whys.
Reglardess, any kind of prejudice, be it anti-semitic or whatever, are not to be tolerated. Please call the forum mods and explain the case. They probably (100%, i think) can find the posters and deal with the case. But also they probably (100%, i think) wont tell you who they were.

My prediction is the rep system will be shut down within 30 days. Too many forum members will use its anonymity as an excuse to make personal attacks in violation of the forum rules.
You can always disable rep, although the hilariously stupid part about that is that you still get the comments in your Control Panel, your rep just isn't displayed on your posts.

I've never liked the rep system, and never will. I suggest turning your rep off permantly, and never looking at it again. Personally, I see the rep system as a juvenile way to bring up or down someone elses opinion. These opinions could very well be wrong, but intelligent discourse can't happen without dissent.
I'll forever wish the Dev's had forgone the rep system when we moved to this new forum. It only encourages cowards to bash posters, or come together to 'promote' certain posters to angelic status. Witty and entertaining is one thing...these posters should be applauded(and were before this rediculous rep system).
The rep system reminds me of high school....kind of like a popularity contest. It's juvenile, and should be above most posters....

But you are right, it doesn't stop people from trying to (-) me for making posts against the misuse of the rep feature. All this with my rep not even enabled! What point are they trying to make? rofl
The funny part is, I seem to get just as many, if not more (+) for the same posts as well.
Then again, I also see just as many GREY rep values as well. Apparently the rep scaling can be high enough that some people's opinions don't even count. That makes me like the rep feature even less. Why should helping a new player fix his client and get on his feet count for nothing?
Oh well.. On a side note, I do appreciate reading some of the comments people have left me, thanking me for my help.

Judging by the time of the rep, and the thread history of the post I was given rep for, I think I know who it was, but whoever it really was, I thank you for that either way. It was cute.
If somebody's rep is turned off, I think you should rep them anyway... as long as you are leaving feedback and being honest about it.
On the one hand I wish we could see who gave us Rep, would help curb the rampant anonymous name calling.
On the other hand I'm kinda glad we can't see it because it keeps things from escalating with retaliation after a -rep

I have a couple of stalkers who follow me around just to pile up the -rep, I have plenty of strong opinions I'm not shy about sharing and am far from diplomatic in my mode of expression, and yet my rep continually grows.
Probably because I don't just antagonize people and gripe about stuff, I also help people make inf and give positive feedback when warranted.

I'm not overly surprised you got bad feedback from a thread where you boasted about laughing at people farming in broadcast.
However, any -rep that has truely has an anti-semetic (or racist, sexist, or otherwise clearly offensive) then report it & move on.

I have a feeling the rep system will remain in effect and also remain anonymous. Why? Because it serves a couple different functions: 1. It allows for people to get their yayas out on you without cluttering the forums, and 2. It does not allow for retaliation, which precludes long and drawn out internet slapfights. Now, rather than have illiterate leetspeak rants posted on the forums, which are then responded to and derail threads and need endless moderation, the illiterate leetspeakers can just send a -rep saying "lol ur stupid stop psoting" and it never taints the thread in question. Heck, you can't even reply or engage in a -rep vendetta, because you have no idea who sent the -rep. From a mod's point of view, this is a great thing.
You can report, and I guess the mods will do something, but you won't ever know who wronged you or what punishment they received. Report for sure, but as far as dealing with it on the forum goes, the best tactic is to ignore it completely. Making a thread or a reply to a thread commenting on the -rep comment just feeds the ******* and makes him or her more likely to do it again. Why? Because whereas before they had to assume they got under your skin, by posting, you confirm it. I guarantee that whoever -repped you and make the remarks in question has the biggest nerd boner right now if they saw that they got to you to the point that you posted about it.

How does one go about reporting a reputation comment that is out of line?
