For all intends and purposes, it's a viable option, and on my VEAT, I didn't any travel powers and did just fine by relying on the Jetpack Quartermaster.
I suppose the same will work just fine blue-side once you unlock the Shadowshard, or even at level 1 once zone restrictions disappear almost completely with I16. Jut be aware that if one of your contacts decides they hate and send you to the ***-end of Independence Port, you might wish for something faster, but other than that, travel powers are mostly a matter of convenience, not necessity.
If you wanna, go for it.
It could be slightly annoying if you're doing a task force, ex-ed down and your forgot to check how much time you had left on your raptor pack.
But it's quite doable.
I will note that you can't slot Swift with Blessing of the Zeppelin.

Well, you can't slot anything with Blessing of the Zeppelin.
Now, Blessing of the Zephyr, you can slot in non-auto powers, which does exclude Swift.

At least I know that before buying/making the IOs. I didn't realize Against All Odds (Shield Defense power) couldn't take any sets before making a Perfect Zinger IO for it.
You could slot Sprint?
Sadly, you can't put Blessing of the Zephyr in sprint.

Not sure it's the universal travel set bonuses are that worrying... If your spending THAT many slots there, then they are probably lacking somewhere else (more of an issue on some builds than others).
I think it's more the throwing a number of the procs (knockdown protection/slow resistanse) in the default slot that they dont want.

Sure, you can get away without taking a travel power. I personally wouldn't do it, but that's just me.

I've actually hit 41st level, but I'm looking at what powers I have, and what powers I have yet to take, and what I want to take... and I'm running out of power slots.
I noticed that you can buy Raptor Packs in the Shadow Shard for 10,000 Influence, though... and I thought about speccing out of Flight and just picking up a Raptor Pack for when I need to fly.
About the only way this could really hurt me is that I wouldn't be able to slot Fly with Blessing of the Zephyr any more, but I could still slot Swift with it, if I had to....
Anyone done this? Just gone with Raptor Packs from 40+ on?
