I miss having a "group".
You have changed just as much as everyone else in the game.
It sounds to me like you are looking for something a game, just can't offer.
What you had in the past.
You need to look for something different.
Perhaps, find a new server.
I don't mean to sound snarky ... (or maybe I do, it's been a looong week) ... but
If you want to "find" a new "group", then go out and FORM ONE.
Make your own PuG teams, find the one or two folks who work well with you, friend them.
Invite them to teams more often, get to know them (in game at least), and before long you'll have your new "group".
[sorry if this comes off wrong, but one of my biggest pet peeves of this game is folks who sit around and whine about "I can't find any teams", "the game's dead", "nobody teams anymore", etc. When what they really mean is "I'm too lazy to actually form my own teams and just want someone to come along and hold my hand"]

Hello, my name is Soulwind and I have Alt-Itis.
Just curious. What server do you play on?

Don't mean to sound snarky but, I can find teams, just not a group of "regulars" like I used to hang out with. =(
I find myself in somewhat the same situation. I had a set group to team with for awhile and over the last year they have all quit for other games. I have resorted to PUG's and even AE to find teams lately, but I just haven't gotten into another active group. I have 2 huge well stocked bases, one hero and one villain, on Freedom and I just don't want to give them up after working 3 years on them so I haven't been willing to move to another SG/VG. I have looked for a group also, but not much luck yet.
edit: I find pug's all the time, just not a set group of people yet.

You can't find what you used to have.
You can only create something new, and it will no matter what be different than what you had before. |
She's right, you won't get the exact same thing you had before. But you can create something different and maybe as good. The key words there being "you" and "create." You'll have to put in an effort to build a base of people you enjoy playing with. Start small and build. And as others have said, if you feel you have been unsuccessful with the pool you have, you may want to try a new server.
You can even try viewing some other server forums and looking for players you think you might enjoy teaming with and asking them if you can join them. (Note: I'm not suggesting anyone get all stalkery here.) Check out links to SG forums and see if there's any group you feel like you'd fit in with and apply for the group. Join server-specific global channels to find new teammates and get connected to the community. There are loads of groups and players out there. It's up to you to go out and find the one(s) you want to spend your time with.

Miss Informed in 2016! She can't be worse than all those other guys!
If you're just joining PuGs, you may want to start joining some small TF groups or hang out around some TF contacts and look for groups who have the same or similar SG names. That might help you find an active group. You can also go to your server forum and post something about looking to find active players to team with. Definitely join server channels.
This game offers so many ways for people to connect, even across servers. If you really can't find anyone, you're not using all your resources to their best advantage. If you're not sure what those resources are, go visit the Freedom forum and ask about global channels to join to get on teams, ask for some names of the active SGs with friendly reputations, etc.

It does suck when your close pals move on to some other game you don't enjoy, but it isn't that hard to make new in-game friends in this community.
Heck, even a basically antisocial type like myself has plenty of friends just from hanging out here and idling in TheMarket global channel.
Join some of your servers globals, get in the mix of the server community and I bet you'll have a bunch of new pals in no time.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

PUGs that dont know what they're doing? THEY are the best kind of groups!!!
Groups that are perfect and have next to zero risk are just boring imo. One of the reason my ingame mates get annoyed at me from time to time, because i hardly team with them . . . . . . but i just love having a team thats nonstop carnage!!! [issue 16 = a whole new level of damz team carnage union/defiant so beware!!!]
I think so far in my time of the game i've been in many different "groups" as you put it.
Ultraviolet i started off in although since i was a new player i was the most quiet person ever.
S.E.C.R.E.T. then where i met people like yellow cat [great person!!! love teaming with this guy since its a guaranteed laugh]
Final Fight came along then and that was fun while it lasted
Paragons Hope where i was a main member for almost a year before well the group imploded from within and sadly a lot of us stopped talking to eachother . . . .
Finally . . . . . the people i met on one of my "random atlas nights" . . . .
Welcome to . . . . THE CRUISE!!!!
Think we had 3 whole days/nights of just nonstop random fun in atlas, what started off as a random drumroll ended up as a full blown atlas band, photos, just random stuff really!!!! The best part was that no-one in the whole thing even knew eachother but EVERYONE became great friends by the end Sometimes pulling random people in random things can turn out to be the best memory of the game you have!!
Ah think i'll set up another one of those on the weekend, been a loud call for one of these by the original cruise members so why not! Woooooo
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!
I first remember seeing an ad for this game in the August or September issue of Game Informer when i4 just ended. Since then I found a niche and ran with the same great group of people for years. They ALL went to WoW, Eve online, or SWG.
I have been trying to find another "group" since i10 and all i get stuck with is introverted PUGs. I got my girlfriend into the game, but it isn't the same. I can't even get on a TF that knows what they are doing.
I miss the days where I would log on, get invited and have a blast and chat with what become some of my closest friends.
