Very exciting- soon I'll be able to unleash the green flaming death monkeys of my level 50 fire/rad controller onto the unsuspecting 8-man spawns of zombies in my farm mission without having to bug fillers!

Historically speaking...it's probably at least a month away.
I believe it usually goes 2-3 weeks of closed beta and 1-2 weeks open, and then live.

If I16 allows me to just login and play with the customization I would be fine with that -- In the past you could get to the creator screen but just not login with a character.
I've been so tempted to come out of retirement and do another guide...
...and I16 Closed Beta starts on the first day of my work's two-month crunch time.

In the past though, Closed beta just means that you cannot get into PC/RI. but cha can get into the costume creator.
I dont see why they wouldnt allow this, since the largest feature of I16 can be played around with in the creator, they would appreciate all the bug feedback they can get.

It would appear so. In any case, I don't know if I'm in Beta or not--I'm just looking forward to seeing screenies of folks experimenting with the totally-not-closed-at-all-brand-spanking-new-character creator.
