Patch Notes for Live Build

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009



COMBINED



Arena

  • Fixed Villain Pentad event to properly award the Pentad Arena badge

Art
  • Transformation Capsules now properly show their destroyed animation


Emotes
  • Quick-Chat Menu has gone through an overhaul and now includes all emotes available to all players.
  • All versions of juggle emotes should now work with flight.

Invention
  • Detonation Set: Fixed a bug that would cause the 5 piece set bonus from the Detonation Invention Origin set to require all 6 pieces.
  • Focused Smite: Accuracy/Damage/Recharge should have its short help correctly state that it boosts Accuracy, Damage and Attack Rate instead of Damage, Reducing Endurance Cost and Increasing Attack Rate.

Leveling Pact
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented an offline level-pacted player from receiving experience if the pact is broken while that player is offline.


Mission Architect
  • The Vanguard Warhead destructable object used in the Mission Architect should now correctly explode instead of vanishing.
  • Custom Critters - Mercenaries summoning set - Attacks from this set now deal damage versus players.
  • Destructable objects in arcs that are not flagged as Dev Choice will no longer cause secondary effects

Powers
  • Dark Miasma/Dark Servant (all versions): Fixed a bug that caused this power to state that it would accept Recharge Intensive Pet enhancement sets. Since this pet cannot be slotted for damage, it should never have been able to accept these types of enhancements.
  • Hit delay for Trick Arrow - Entangling Arrow and Ice Arrow should sync with the visuals of the projectile
  • Fixed the bug where pets weren't phasing with their owners properly (with powers such as Phase Shift).

PVP Changes
  • If you defeat someone who has recently defeated you, this will no longer restrict you from receiving rewards from the PvP defeat. The PvP reputation timer is now no longer reset from a defeat that doesn't earn reputation.

Super Groups
  • Fixed the /enter_base_from_sgid command so that it only works when the base entry dialog is Open.


User Interface

  • The issue involving random characters appearing in the chat line has been fixed. For example, players should now no longer see “asdawasdsawdsLevel 10 Scrapper LFT”
  • Players can no longer use the /enter_base_from_sgid command to flee from danger.
  • Global Chat Channels will no longer change colors randomly upon zoning.
Zones
  • A small hole in Cimerora's geometry no longer allows players to teleport behind the war walls.

  • Trick Arrow/Acid Arrow: This power should now correctly display its resistance debuff visual FX.
  • Trick Arrow/Poison Gas Arrow: This power should now correctly display its damage debuff visual FX.

Defenders
  • Trick Arrow/Acid Arrow: This power should now correctly display its resistance debuff visual FX.
  • Trick Arrow/Poison Gas Arrow: This power should now correctly display its damage debuff visual FX.
  • Dark Miasma/Dark Servant: Text no longer claims that this power takes Recharge Intensive enhancement sets

Tankers
  • Ice Armor/Wet Ice: Fixed a typo in this power’s long help.

Task Force
  • Manticore Task Force: 1st Mission no longer spawns level 40 Paragon Protector Elites (This is a level 30-35 Task Force)


CITY of VILLAINS


Powers


Masterminds
  • Necromancy/Lich: This pet summoning power should no longer accept Defense Debuff enhancements, as the Lich doesn’t have any powers with a defense debuff component. The Lich can now be slotted for Accurate To-Hit Debuff Invention Origin sets.

Strike Force
  • Thus Spoke the Reichsman: Ghost Widow's Betrayed Dialog now occurs at the proper time

Hooray for emote updates!

The rest - I don't think I encountered any problems with the above fixes so ... guess I'm lucky.

Never knew you could even do this before, and now we can't anyway...oh well, heh.


Thanks for updating the emote menus and fixing chat colors/bugs.


Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

As usual, the question is: Why does it take hours to release the patch notes?
...and yeah, like the emote upgrade although I usually stick to slash commands for that.. old habits!

Nice bunch of fixes. Was wondering what they could have been but looking back at the test server recent patch notes I had a good idea what most of them probably were, this post just confirms what has been changed and what I noticed.

It doesn't. They almost always release them right after the servers have been successfully patched and brought online. Your question would more accurately be stated: "Why do I expect the patch notes hours earlier than they should be posted?"

If they put up patch notes as soon as the servers go down, then something goes wrong, they have to not only roll back the patch, but take down the notes, and post something else to the effect that the changes you may be expecting won't be there. That's 1-2+ unavoidable postings/changes.

Under the current system, if they wait on the notes until they know it worked, then it's 0-1 postings. Overall more efficient and less confusing.

Yes, there have been times in the past where patches have to be rolled back hours or even days later, but at least under the current system most problems can be avoided.

Is it just me or is Liberty rubber-banding more now? I just logged in and did some crafting and it was quite laggy (was rubber-banding/seeing big blocks/red blocks/spikes in /netgraph 1 etc...).

And no, it doesn't appear to be my internet connection...this happened during the double xp weekend as well. Friday was really bad...I could log in to the game, stand around and be fine, then once I got into a team and was doing missions it was laggy (and others said the same thing); then Saturday was 'meh' hit-or-miss with lag...then Sunday I didn't have any issues (maybe the occasional thing here or there). Now today it seems to be spiking a lot.

Per discussion while this patch was on the Training room, Manticore can and probably will still spawn Level 40 PP elites in the various missions.......though I guess not in the first mission

Bring debuff. Hopkins finally got smart and hired help to protect his weak ***.

Why would they only fix the 1st Mission? We ran into this problem in the 2nd and I'm pretty sure the 3rd mission this past weekend before we bugged it. Was very aggravating as 31-32s to fight a lvl 40 PPE Boss. Hopefully by fixing the 1st Mission it also fixed the others?

We ended up dropping the TF after no GM response (it was 2xp so I understand). Of course as soon as we all quit the TF what do I get..... GM_Jamie would like to help....

Just an aside question, was this a known issue and if so was it posted somewhere? I read the forums a lot but I'll be honest I sometimes just click past the Global MOTmoment.

Fluffy does damage just like any other pets of it's kind... it should be allowed to slot for damage and appropriate pet damage sets, IMO.

...and still having MASSIVE issues (Infinity Server) with Mapserver Disconnects and associated lags.

Hmmm, since the patch I have noticed something I call 'I like to boogie' bug

Whenever I use something like Mission TP or Pocket D tp it looks like Im dancing because the arm movement keep repeating themselves!

Anyone else notice this?

Edit - After dancing around in Atlas for a while I would like to have this made into an emote!

Yeah I just noticed it. I Used my Base teleporter and suffered the Manticore twitch. I can live with that though. I am so elated that the chat bug is fixed to care(for now).

I noticed this as well. It's actually kind of funny. You know, in annoying kind of way
