So... Going Rogue...What is it?
Confirmed: Multiple new zones set in Preatoria, two new power sets (dual pistols and demon summoning) and that's about it.
Hinted at: Graphical improvements/updates
Total rumour: New Epic ATs, more power sets.
Going Rogue is a long way off yet. Expect more info as time goes on.

Interesting, the new content is always good, but I especially like that little tidbit on paragonwiki that mentioned new stuff for 50's to do.
General rumour - totally unconfirmed - is that 50s can unlock 10 "super" enhancements slots that do a lot more than regular slots, simulating 10 levels from 50-60. This rumour stems from a new feature survey sent out some time ago that included items very similar to what we're getting now.
Awesome in a box.

Necrobond - 50 BS/Inv Scrapper made in I1
Rickar - 50 Bots/FF Mastermind
Anti-Muon - 42 Warshade
Ivory Sicarius - 45 Crab Spider
Aber ja, natrlich Hans nass ist, er steht unter einem Wasserfall.
I'm still waiting for more info. It's gonna take abit more than a few zones, two powersets, and side switching to justify buying a boxed expansion.
Taken a long hiatus from CoX, and noticed this whole Going Rogue expansion. Now a few things are pretty obvious, heroes can go villain, and vice versa, but what about the rest? Any Dev tidbits out there that can reveal on what else is coming with it?
The only thing that would really get me back into CoX is a *significant* influx of new content. Is GR supposed to bring this, or is it going to be mostly a few missions and the switcherroo? |
Sounds fair to me
edit: To expand a little bit, I'm excited about the harder content and new zones the most. I realize not everybody is gonna be excited about that stuff, but that's ok.

Though it would be cool to see something similar like that happen. Maybe the 6 year Veteren award could be-- a Lvl 51 character. Choose 1 character per account to be lvl 51.
Unlocking special enhancement slots seems like it would upset the balance the Dev's try and create with the archetypes.

Personally, I don't think that would happen.

I laugh at it.
Let's just leave it at....
If you don't like it, . . . Don't buy it!
Easy enough... but now we have warned you.
Don't come back complaining about it if you DO buy it.
.
Remember, you vote with your wallet. By buying Going Rogue, you've effectively saying to the devs and producers "I APPROVE OF THIS EXPANSION AND WILL PURCHASE MORE LIKE IT".
Replace "a few zones" with "as many zones as CoV launched with".

I know that they first said "new zones" - which could mean as few as 2 - but then they mentioned "several enw zones" - and several is more than just 2 - but I've not seen any hint that there'll be as many as CoV - although that could be possible if they're looking to make the Neutral/Mercenary idea into a proper 3rd faction.

Is there any info to back that up, or is it just a hunch?

The last expansion was CoV; it launched with 6 zones, not counting the PvP zones. I would expect GR to have a commensurate level of content. They may even pull the old trick where GR only launches with 1-40 content, and they add the 40-50 zone in the next issue. I hope they don't do that, but it's possible.

Going Rogue really needs to be the equivalent of CoV in terms of new content. A good number of new zones, new / expanded lore, more than just two new powersets, plus some big new 'other' systems to get people excited about it. I'm assuming some sort of graphical overhaul will also be included.
It needs to be this big to attract new players and offer something new to attract players who have left CoH/V.
Some disagree with this.
