    Staff Mastery?

Has anyone heard anything about the new release date for Staff Mastery?
  3. On Sunday November 20, 2011 at 5pm Eastern Time, 8 heroes will be attempting one of the most time consuming tasks in the game--- Quarter-Hell!!
This is the longest taskforce in the game (due to the amount of defeat alls and running back and forth), and can sometimes take over 4 hours to complete, and is lvl 40-44. The taskforce itself is not hard at all, simply time consuming. Who will be the heroes to join me on this epic quest?

    1. Kid Cockatrice (Lvl 50 archer/devices blaster)
    2. Lernean (Lvl 50 ice/dark defender)
  4. Well thank you. You just made my day

    -Kid
  5. With all of the effort going into the "cosmetic" updates of the game, CoX is building a foundation for something grander and lasting.
Rogue is gonna be something to keep the vetern players interested.

  6. Wow, so the whips is a for sure thing? I thought it was just a rumor.
    Hehe, this should be fun.

And I'm pretty sure Singularities are girls. Just a gut feeling. <.< >.>
Female slaves aren't bad... who said that? Females make lovely slaves no, i joke i joke. Males make great slaves too.
And for the record, I think singularities are asexual.

But anywho... I think the only way I could get into a mastermind is to be able to customize the minions. Maybe I'll try out zombies with i16, since you can at least change the colors. Or... maybe when Rogue comes out.

  8. Wow, that was very fast. Lots of issues so far this year, and Rogue coming out in the end of the year.
    I love you.

  9. Objective Feedback:

I've noticed that the Auction house has become less populated. And common salvage are at all time high prices. It seems to me as though Architect Tickets have caused the economy of the game to plummet.
Though I do appreciate the ease of buying enhancements with tickets, salvage and IO recipes seem a bit of a stretch as a reward.

    My Opinion:

Keep many of the rewards of Architect tickets, getting rid of the ability to purchase invention salvage and IO recipes (the highest percentage enhancements shouldn't be available without hard labor).
This will force everyone to remember that there is an auction house.

  10. Yes, so this base building topic. I'm very interested to see how they incorporate alignment in with that. I'd love to have some villians in my supergroup.

    Any thoughts on this?

Muahaha! Well polygamy and dometic violence are villianous deeds, and should be implemented with Masterminds!
No, it's understandable. Wouldn't want a Pimp Named Slickback roaming through Grandville.

We Might or will use a Morality compass if you put the compass on good and your a villain you will be given contacts that give you good karma missions which means there could be Good,Neutral,Evil contacts in all three sides. You could also get rewards for not switching. Also we might start characters as neutral as another poster said. at the end of the tutorial we will choose what side we want to be.

Also does anyone know if I make a villain lvl 39 and make him hero will he still have patron powers vice versa.
Hmm, yes, I like this. Where is this survey you speak of? I'm interested.
And about the Patron Pools. Check the first few posts, lots of speculation.
And Golden is right about the i16 thing... Rogue won't be out till December or so.

Hmm, I can see how something like this would work.
We are given the option to stop leveling up, so we would most likely be given the option to stop earning morality, or remain neutral.
  14. The only reason I haven't played a mastermind past level 15 is the limited amount of customization they have.

There are no female henchmen-- this could be fixed by allowing us some carnie henchmen or something of the like.

Costumes- Even if there weren't a set of female henchmen; allowing Masterminds to customize the gender of each henchmen, or even chage the color of the costumes, would be a huge jump forward.

I'm not asking for a complete customiztion of costumes or anything, just maybe with i16 you could toss some of the customization towards the henchmen.

Can I get some back-up on this?

    .
Though I doubt the expansion will include a third faction of the game. Instead of Mercenaries, my guess is:

    Hero
    Villian
In Limbo (with access to whichever side your morality bar allows)
  16. Global: @Kid Cockatrice
    Age: 20

SG Affiliation: Defenders of Gaia, looking for good coaltion buddies
Other recognizable characters: Kid (of course), Nivr (spines/WP), Proserpinia (plant/therm), Erodite (Peacebringer), Venom Widow (nightwidow), Pious Caligula (DB/invuln)

I'm online a lot, and love big teams, trials, taskforces, giant monsters, you name it! Hit me up.

    Infinity SGs

    The Defenders of Gaia

This is a fully functional supergroup mostly aimed around nature-like or earth-based characters. Our motto is: "We are beings brought forth from the Earth to protect the Earth".

We have a communal sysstem in place for Enhancements. We all contribute to creating Invention recipes and rare recipes and storing them in the table. We then take whatever we need for our alts or whatnot. But you must contribute to use this feature.

We have no website yet and only run in game. Please contact one of the following people:
    @Kid Cockatrice
    @Figment King
    @Radindra

    for an invite.

  18. One thing I would like to see is a crystal to Cimerora.
They have an Ouroborous Crystal for the base, and a teleporter to pocket D, now all we need is the Cimerora crystal.
I hate having to run through the Midnighter's Club to get there.

    -Kid

P.S- I like the CoT crystal idea. That would come in handy for raids and whatnot.
  19. My guess is that it will be sort of a merger between heroes and villians.
Since thematically supergroups and villiangroups are people with a like minded cause or goal, it would make sense that a villian could join a hero group or vise versa.
Or perhaps they would just allow the coalition of hero and villian groups, but still keep each group to its respective side.
One thing that I hope doesn't happen is getting kicked from your group for going rogue. My supergroup mates love me, good or evil

  20. I made this character simply for the name; it's a benched alt.

    A stone/stone tank named: Appalachia

Walk a fine line, be a spy, be a revolutionary, be a tourist, jump from side to side, wave your arms in the air like you just don't care... Okay, maybe not that last one. But, it seems to me, that in a comic book world, there are sides, and they need to be chosen, even if it's a superficial thing that anyone can handwave away with their own backstory ideas. Also, it saves them from having to make a third marketplace.

If I'm not mistaken, the market already covers all servers; it's only seperation is heroes from villians. In which case, my previous prediction about a merger would be lovely. Especially since architect ticket became available people have begun to use those as an alternative to the market, drastically affecting the economy (i.e. on Infinity: Nevermelting Ice now costs 200,000 influ). Merging the markets on heroes and villians could possibly begin to fix that.
So I think if Heroes and Villians became one game that would solve many of the problems we are discussing right now. It fits thematically too; we all know that Recluse wouldn't want all of his lackeys to waste their time in the Rogue Islands... of course there are Rogue agents that have infiltrated Paragon.
My guess is that Praetoria will be the link between heroes and villians, but only because of the morality bar-- no extra markets or third faction, just simply a bunch of zones where you work towards becoming evil or good, or gray of course, if you choose to remain in Praetoria.

Personally, I don't think that would happen.
Though it would be cool to see something similar like that happen. Maybe the 6 year Veteren award could be-- a Lvl 51 character. Choose 1 character per account to be lvl 51.

Unlocking special enhancement slots seems like it would upset the balance the Dev's try and create with the archetypes.

I'm thinking that Rush Bolt just tackled the Patron/Epic theory there. That seems to make the most sense. Though a friend of mine brought up an idea. New Epic power sets, given by Tyrant's lackeys or contacts of the like. Don't know how feasible that is though.
As for getting kicked from your supergroup... I've started to wonder something. Even though Rogue is definatley widening the line between hero and villian, it is also slightly combining the two sides. I'm thinking that this will close the gap between heroes and villians since it allowing access to both factions on either side.
That being said, supergroups may cover all of CoX instead of just heroes or just villians.

As for the neutral party... I think we have concluded that the morality bar can only be adjusted there. Each contact giving two mission options-- one with a good outcome and one with a villianous one.
I think that we will be given a third option as to which zone to start in, Praetoria of course. But I think access to Praetoria will be given to all level characters. But if they get rid of my level 50 invention sets when I go evil for a while, I will be very upset.
  24. There are a couple of items that I think the Base Editor could include.
I would like to so some Invention Salvage storage in Base Editor. Not like a Vault, but a communal Invention Salvage storage.
And of course with that comes Recipe Storage. Now this one could be done like the Vault or even be done communally, either way would be great.
I just hate having to use the auction house for storage instead of selling.

    Rogue Theories

With the launch of CoX's "Going Rogue", I expect many changes throughout the game. Some I cannot seem to wrap my head around and would like to discuss theories for how you think certain things will work:

    1. Supergroups: Will rogue villians be able to join hero supergroups and vise versa? Are they going to make supergroups co-op?

    2. For a villian that has turned heroic, will they have to return to Grandville for their patron pool powers? Or will a new set of Epic/Patron Powers be introduced?

I'm sure there are many more questions, so lets all theorize as much as we can and keep in mind--Unless you have proven facts, this is THEORY! None of this fact yet.
