differences between new and old forums?

I hate the quick reply icon, btw.
I think ive sussed then difference I was asming for. Its just normal text and bolded text? /headdesk, resignedly.
What can I do, except get used to it.I will, I'm sure. But it's not as good as the old method. I use the forums mostly on an iPhone. I hope its not a nightmare on that.

Yes. I've been using various BBCodes for so long that it's second nature for me to type link, rather than hunt for a button to do it.

A-ha! I found the buttons for you!
Got to Edit Options in your control panel, and scroll down to the bottom: "Miscellaneous Options". One of them is "Message Editor Interface", and you can select between Basic, Standard, and Enhanced. Standard is what you're used to.

"Preview" is no longer automatic. You have to choose submit or preview.
"Search" appears to be MUCH more robust.
And explore the options along the top. There's some sweet, sweet candy in there.

Message Editor Interface (toward the very bottom)

Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use all of these options. If you experience problems when posting messages, try switching to a different interface type.
Yes, I liked being able to see the number of new posts in a thread before going to it. Just started poking around, but otherwise looks good.
We'll all get used to it in time.
Is there a way to get a thread i open to open at the oldest post that i havent read?
Can i turn off the 'frame' or whatever it is, the pics of statesman etc?
How do i insert a link but have the link be another word. In the old system the 'enter url' window had 2 fields, one for the url andthen another for what you wanted to show in the post.
Is it just me or are tge new forums slower to load?

Also, can i disable images in sigs but still se any images in the body of a post?
And how do I change my forum password? If this is impossible, will changing my game account password make my forum password unusable again?

It looks a bit more state of the art, I like the new look but a custom UI and skin would be neat

Is there a faq or guide to the differences between the new and old forums?
For example, how do I quickly spot which threads have posts new to me when i log in? Under the old stsytme there was a colour change, I think?

wer, there doesnt seem to be a 'submit? are you sure?' step in submitting a new post, either. is this normal? maybe there are defaults I can fiddle with tho make them closer to what im used to or sth?
