Hello,

My forum account does not use the same password as it did pre-forum change.

I had to use my City of Heroes account info to get to log in (pure luck that I guessed that).

I am guessing this password change was a bug?

Working as intended.

I can't seem to stay logged in with Firefox... IE keeps me logged in just fine.

In game with a few of my friends, for some unknown reason, we have to use our game logins to gain login access to the forums.

I'm assuming that this is a bug and will be fixed shortly.

Google Chrome hasn't logged me off yet for those complaining about getting kicked out or logged off.

It's not a bug, according to Positron on Twitter. Forum login is now the same as your game login.

In Firefox, are you trying to log in from boards.cityofvillains.com or boards.cityofheroes.com? I find I can stay logged in on the second, but not the first.

Odd....different issue than the one I'm having then. Have you tried deleting your cookies for the old boards?

Tried that. Didn't work. I also tried boards.cityofvillains.com, to see if I had the reverse of your problem, but that didn't work either.

Not entirely happy about loging in with my game password. Especially since I didn't get a SSL notification.

I seem to recall logging into the previous UBB system with my game login and password. (Lack of security warning isn't so good though.)

...it only took me three attempts to remember that. All hail the Remember Me option. :P

Edit: The other option is that I picked one of my standard passwords when I setup the old forum account. My memory fails.

I don't have an alt problem. I like trying new things.

Yeah, with the old forums you could just pick whatever you wanted your login name and password to be. Sounds like you just made it the same as your game info.

Same here. IE works fine, Firefox won't stay logged in. It might be a Vista related issue.

Me either. FireFox working just fine.

As he mentioned, the "villain" board does not work at all, but since both backgrounds are the same now, you can just select the villain skin in your preferences instead.

Yeah, I'm not having any problems here, but I'm with ya FatherX. If we have to use our game account info to log in, it'd be nice if it was SSL/Https.

I'm all for one less account/password pair. Master account AND game account AND forum account was getting a bit silly. They definitely need security on the username/password set, though!

I'm using XP.

Hellguard? What version of Firefox are you using? That could be a telling point as well.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

3.0.12

Actually, I liked that extra layer of security. Keeping the forum login and game login separate had been a good idea in my opinion. If you browse the forums on WiFi it at least did meant your game account was safe.

There is a definite need now to ensure that the forum log in is secure.

Okay, I checked it with 2.0.0.20 (I think that was the version) and it worked as it should have. So then (against my better judgement) I installed 3.0.12 and cleared all of my private data, and it works as it should. It remembers my login and shows me logged in even before I try posting. I surfed several forums and threads to see if it would log me out but it didn't. It's showed the Welcome Texas_Justice text on every page.

Apparently you have a different issue going on that just Firefox and XP? Possibly there are other differences in what we have installed such as Service Packs, Windows Updates, Java packages, Flash versions or something else that is causing the problems.

Ok Coldmed, what browser are YOU using. And what Version? You are aware that the UserName AND Password are both case sensitive?

I'm on my Vista computer now using IE 8 but I can install another browser if needed to help troubleshoot.
