You can turn off pictures, but that will also disable any pictures included in the post, like screenshots, not just the picture sigs.

Hate them.

1) The statesman star is too big and provides very little contrast with the titles of respective forums. That is to say, you focus on the star and not the forum title - it's very annoying.

edit: And along the same lines, the contrast between the white text and light blue background is horrible. Perhaps it's just me, but I find myself having to focus to read the text a lot more than on the old forums. Bad color scheme.

2) As others have said, the default "no sub-forum" view does nothing but detract from usability. I for one, had to look in each forum, one by one, simply to find the dang general discussion again.

Please make people sig pics no bigger than 100 tall and 500 wide.

Please turn off the Rep meter. I forsee certain posters getting bagged on more than others because people are just mean for no reason.

I don't understand how a new griefing system could possibly be looked at in a positive way.

It's easy, if you're a griefer.

Mainly the front page setup. I liked how the old forums was. Everything right there. Now I have to click a bunch of times to find anything and keep hitting backspace

And people typing one sentance with a bunch of pictures in their sig sucks.

I would like to set fire to vBullitin
Personally you can stuff it. I said one sentence, I have 2 pictures that are barely even 30px high. and Userbars are actually quite a widely accepted form of signature image if any are even allowed on any forum. as they are small, compact and are quite easy to overlook.

Is there an option to increase the default size of fonts? Normal un-modified text is too tiny. Chalk that up as another peeve.

And to those who keep giving me bad rep, ****off.
Go into your UserCP, go to Edit Options, the second item there is your Reputation. Just uncheck it.

This is most likely why people keep giving you bad rep. You are simply whining and complaining instead of looking to see how to do even the simplest thing.

We keep telling you to look at the FAQ but instead, you just keep asking about how to do things that are laid out simply there.

You keep asking about other items, and you are given step by step instructions on how to do that, most of it involving the UserCP and the Edit Options page. Have you bothered to look at anything there except for what you were being explicitly given instructions on how to do? Apparently not.

There have been posts all over this thread, the Discussion thread, in the Technical Issues and Bugs thread, and likely in several other places on how to do much of the extremely simple things you keep whining about, but YOU aren't making the effort to learn anything, you just keep whining and wanting it spoonfed to you.

You don't like the front page of the forums? Fine. Click the + on the same line as English. This will show all of the forum section headings. If this is the view you want, bookmark it. If not, and you want to see the individual forum names, much like the old forums front page, simply click on the word English. This will show the Forum Section headings and the individual forum names, just like the old forums did. If this is the view you want, bookmark it.

If you want to see things using the Favorite Forums view that the other forum software had, well, you can't get it exactly, but you can get pretty close. You can follow the instructions in the guide here to get a pretty close approximation to that old view.

The reason you apparently hate these new forums is because you apparently refuse to put any effort into learning anything about them, and want everything handed to you on a silver platter.

As for me? I'm done with spoonfeeding you. I've given enough instructions to you that if you had taken the time to look at the other settings that you HAD to have seen were on the page as you scrolled past them, even if you didn't bother to look to see what they were then, you could have gone back and looked at them AFTER setting what you wanted.

But that would have been a bit too much effort apparently. It's much easier to come in here whining and ranting and using foul language that has to be filtered by the forum software.

If you put forth NO effort, you will get NO return. It's that way in everything I've encountered in life. At least, anything worth doing.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Not in the current setup. There may be mods available that they can install that will do this.

For me, the simplest thing is to change the default editor since it lets me get more control of my posts.

And for me to stop using the QR box, even though I can still get some control there.

So turn them off. You've already been told how.

For those who do not like the defaulted hidden sub-forums layout on the front page, bookmark the following:

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/forumdisplay.php?f=547

This will take you directly to the English sub-forum, which is set-up in a similar layout as the old forums.

I watched my ex-neighbor now loony bin patient run over a Barny stuffed animal with their car like 10-15 times.

At the time I thought it was really funny.

About 3 weeks later, they went to the Mental Ward.

Why would they take a stuffed Barney animal to the Mental Ward?

Whats real screwed up here is once a radio station here in Portland once advertised there was $500.00 hidden inside a barney doll in the Portland Area....

Mayhem ensued... Hundreds upon hundreds of decapitated barney toys lay everywhere...

and TJ, shame on you for triple-posting o.O

And if anybody cares, I made a fix for the hero side of the header... Seems the size is sitting at a pretty darn beefy 1920x1569px
which is well WAY beyond what most average computers show.
So I Hacked it up and I present you the before and after of my hack job (and yes i know its two browsers but they both showed the same... Opera was used for its remarkable ability to edit the HTML of a website and apply the changes directly to local cache of the website your looking at.)
Heres the Before Image (with the header way beyond the edges)

And After I was done with it,

All nice and centered and easy to see.
annnd here is the After-Mod version of the City of Heroes Background image.

Have fun Reds.
[edit] BTW Forum devs, the CSS "Background:" property can't scale images....yet. however CSS3 is capable of doing such once its released to the main public.

I did? Where? I didn't see it. I still don't see it.

Unless you are referring to me having three posts in a row.
