Issue 15 releases!

GG on speed? Do not want.
I see where you're coming from, I used to play an MMO which I started in earnest halfway through it's life and over the past few years my optimism/pessimism meter went from overly optimistic to exessively negative. In fact a good many of my recent posts on their forums have been 84'd because I've been questioning the company's abilities a bit harshly.
So coming here (after previous said game was announced to be closing) I can see a marked difference (for the better) in both customer relations and development so at the moment I don't see the bad as you do but I'm sure I will over time.
I'm not wrong though, depending on viewpoints and the amount of rosyness your glasses are tinted with, explanations can be seen as excuses and vice versa.

So while the content brought out in I15 is a lot more than I've been used to, it now sets a benchmark for me in which I can compare the next issue and subsequent ones in which case I'll have to wait til I16 to see if GG is wrong or right about the major issue hype getting pushed back an issue.

That was said about i15 too. It was also said that i14 would have more than the AH in it, and it didn't really, aside from a few more PvP changes.

I used to be a great optimist about this game. I once had more enthusiasm for it than GG on speed. Constant disapointments from the devs have led me to extreme pessimism instead.

I've a feeling we've got a far smaller and less experienced full-time Issue Development team (with the latter being really important) than we did in the old days of just 15 people, thanks to Going Rogue.

It gets easier if you just ignore the Dev hype and just expect a few little perks in the issues. Although I have to say i15 was, for me, the most perkless Issue I've come across I think (well i4 probably pips it). Only thing I've really noticed was the nice colour coded dots in the MA "choose a map" picture which are a nice QoL feature but nothing more than a refinement that should have come in a patch just after i14.

The way I see it after I14 I wouldn't expect another issue until about august so this is just a little bit extra.
Also not that its relevent but the devs really ammuse me particularly looking at thier pics on the net, they always seem to have something to do.

I16 will be a major Issue, even if it has only power customization in it and nothing else - it's a feature that's been asked for over and over again by many players for a very long time, but it was such a huge project that the devs just didn't have the resources to do it until now, so it'd be extremely ungrateful to just say "is that it?" if I16 is just power customization.
It's like I14 - the MA was an enormous amount of work to create, even if a lot of the work wasn't seen by the players.

And like MA I'm guessing I16 may have a longer-than-usual run in test. Better than the alternative of game-breaking bugs in customisation, but I can already sense some people getting restless...

So I throw green ice at the same old enemies in the same old caves, big deal ...

Which is nice to have I guess but I'd take a moonbase with some new enemy groups over it any day.

CoH/V is nothing without missions, the almost complete stop in mission content creation and development for *years*, must already have an impact. All the time spent on dodging this little detail, while creating fancy tools for farmers, have made the existing core content so old and stale, it's ready for an archeological excavation.

From the rumors flying around I gather that Pretorias map will be something like Paragons but without the war walls...

If this is correct and Pretoria has 'progressive' loading, then maybe the rest of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles may see this in future with the loss of most of the war walls/force fields.

The shot of Praetoria city shown in the trailer actually looks rather like Bisonopolis - which might or might not be deliberate

Did the dev's ever actually say that i15 was going to be the big issue?

I seem to remember a while back (like several years) there was to be a paid for expansion which would significantly move the story forward and add new features but apparently due to player pressure the expansion was canned and the updates were then being worked into the issue update.

Which pretty much promised some really juicy issues but it seems what with the change in ownership and the creation of paragon studios that that game plan no longer applies i would say that that that big issue that was just over the hill that every one pinned there dreams on no longer exists.

Instead were going to be seeing new ideas and new stuff from the bigger rejuvenated team i thing GR is the new big issue even for those who don't purchase it its going to change things and between now and then it seems clear to me that the dev's intend to add to the game technically which dose seem to mean smaller issues for us but should give the dev's better tools to deliver us better content once all the new tech is bedded in.

What i mean is consider power customisation combined with the Dev version of MA which we've been told is better than ours using those tools combined should make it much easier to create enemy groups and missions featuring them which should be good for us

Aye, what GG said. People carry on blithely while the Devs have most likely spent all the time between issues, oddly enough, working on the next issue or the one after it. Strangely, I don't think you get to keep a job if you sit around on your hands all day long

Personally, it's something I've long wanted, so I16 will be well recieved by me.
