I'll tell you who's name i've always liked @Commander Beets fire scrapper *Baked Potato* it just works awesomely with his one man SG, *the oven* the whole title when looked at just brings a smile to my face every time.

Had a few compliments on biogs for chars, but the only character name I've ever gotten comments on is Tess LaCoyle

Legendary name/sg combo.
My personal favorite is Superiluminal my PB. Shame it's such a pain in the [censored] for people to try and type.
Oh and Precip as in rain for my stormie. Shame it's also a brand of hospital cleaner....
I like my main, Blast Bolt, an En/En Blaster. Also Wraithwing, my Sword/Shield Scrapper.
My Storm/Ice Defender is The Tempest Avenger. Quite like that one too.
The toons names listed in my signature are ones I'm particularly proud of!
Although none of them would feel as cool without having to spend hours to try and get the 'perfect' cossie

\o/ Thanks mate! He's one of my favorite characters, far too much fun to play.. And I think we need to have a rematch now he's 50 and IOd out 
You'll still utterly annihilate me though.
Other than Baked I also have:
Underthrow, an Australian wizard who wears a pirate hat and mask.
Storm Foot, a geek who uses miniature jets to preform martial arts in mid-air.
Skulltipped, an archer who uses animal/human bones for the arrow heads.
Brass Monday, an obsessive villain trying to prove himself to his idol, Nemesis.
And Beatdown, a European hitman who stumbled across a supervillain's lair and stole their power suit.
I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.

Well there's one that always gets a giggle and a a head turn when i play her i refuse to name on the forums for its so close to the knuckle and i would cry my little heart out if they changed her 
Theodonis - greek mythology, always gets a greek comment from those native. (BS/Shield)
Nimble mynx - rolls of the tongue, shamelessly stole (DB/Super Rreflexes)
Diversus - A silly character that i made on vigilance that i turned out to love both in play style and character the names a bonus as it fits his mercenary/traps feel
There are a few others i have and keep i'd need to look them up though >.<
one of my favorites i've seen about not mine though has to be Anna Bolix (WP)
Night Shaft , my TA/A, is possibly the one I've had most comments on when played. Properly super-heroic, but with just the right amount of innuendo
Other than that, I suppose Major Trauma (Mercs/Traps MM) and Tinker Belle (Bots/FF MM) are up there in the 'gag' name types.
Kiken is still my all-time favourite, though. Not so much a name, as a warning...
However, it turned out that Smith was not a time-travelling Terminator

I've always liked Malhavoc, so I often use it.
Then there's the name I did some research to get when I was making my Broadsword/Shield scrapper, Arondight. Which is the name of Sir Lancelots Sword.
Shame I doubt anybody got the reference when I teamed with them
I've only ever received compliments for the name "Jeff Vader". It's also common to receive references from the "Jeff Vader joke" by Eddy Izzard. Which, of-course, is where I thought of the name 
Whirling Dervish (Earth/Storm/Stone 'troller) occasionally gets a nice response and I once had a character called Psionara (Mind/Psi Dom) at the launch of CoV. I tried rolling her again a while back but the name had gone. Also, someone tried to cyber with me on that toon. Creepy to say the least.
I generally like all the names I come up with, even Arctic Princess, but I wouldn't necessarily say that they were, in any way, cool.
Probably the coolest is Voicebox my GL Corp inspired Sonic/Ment blaster followed by Skydive, then my main Frontline - wanted something that was militaristic and it was free so....sick of ppl asking if I get rid of fleas tho lol

I got plenty of characters, but I'm not really good with names. These are a couple I'm quite fond of though.
Dolor - my fire/paindom. Nice and simple. Was 50 in 4 weeks, fastest I ever managed (altitis )
Celestial Fury - Archery/fire blaster. My angel toon. I love the name and concept, but she's stuck in her mid 30's for over a year now (blue side is meh ).
The Grinning Fool - Mind/psy dom. nightmarish jester. Hoping to finally get him out of his low 30's now doms have been buffed.
And finally, one to add to the list of bad word jokes, The White Picket Fencer. DB/SR scrapper. He's been lvl 4 ever since his first day of existence over a year ago. Love his concept, but he's blue side ... and a scrapper ...

* Apocalyptic Jester - had a few people say they like this name
* Technically Psychic - My recently rolled Psi/Energy blaster. It makes me giggle
* Black Karhu - bit of a play on words which gets people asking me if Im Finnish all the time (which Im not!)
* Techno Sage Zeebad - My recently rolled Ice/Ice dominator, a bit of an obscure referrence
* Devil Nature - I always found this name nice and evil

Third Degree Byrne - SS/Fire Brute - So corny it just had to be used.
The Atavist - Mind/Ice Dominator - Atavism is one of my favourite words. This one gets the most 'huh?' comments from people.
Revenant Star - Warshade - If there's a naming convention, I like to play ball. I like the way this trips off of the tongue and hints at redemption.
The Dolmen - Earth/Storm Controller - I still can't believe this one wasn't taken. Not named after the band by the way, good as they are.
Dryadora - Plant/Empathy Controller - Sounds pretty, means 'the gift of trees'. Almost managed to persuade my other half into giving it as middle name to our daughter.
Thorndolly - Spines/Regen Scrapper - No idea where it comes from, but with her small scale and torn clothes, the character does look like a little disheveled ragdoll.
