Bit of a shame as always liked to have a forum for us people in the EU.
Its been great fun lisening to everyone on these forums for the past 4 years!

Hmm. Care to cite evidence here? From what I've seen (which is admittedly not the entirety of all the forums) it seems to be the people with more posts that get sniped at, because they 'spend all their time in the forums and never play the game' and other such claptrap.

Well as long as i can maintain my forum name i wont mind, as folks get to know you by your forum name. Many a time ive wanted to post some comments on the us forums and without a US acct this was impossible. Be nice to be able to post there if this merger works.
Also hope they adopt a style of forum layout like this EU one with similar colours and layout as i do find the EU forums lot easier to read and clearer then reading the writing on blue background ones of the US.

At first I just felt dread when I heard the news, but then I realised all the advantages this will bring us:
1) Only one Dev Tracker to check instead of two
2) We can interact more directly with the Devs
3) If we post questions we will get more responses much faster
Sure, some of our EU community atmosphere may dissipate, but as others have said we can just move that banter into the EU server forums on the new combined board.
We'll be lost as a community under the nameless dross that tries to bury us here. In the US there will be more of it to bury us. 
Well i think the Forum integration is good idea with any luck it'll shortly be followed by a server list merge.

I mean will we have a "EU" title or some sort?
I would really hate to see the EU community get lost, would be a shame to see our GREAT community despair over night. Might be an idea to state that your an EU player in your sig, just an idea.
U can always add EU in your siggy, or can see by your location
(or we get custom titles)

location is nice and good... that way we draw the eu located players that ended up in the US into our part of the community.

A while ago, I was was using a US trial account. To test the comparison of the Lag/R-banding, whilst there I happened upon a thread. A hamidon thread that went south.
It turned out that it was this person's first time organizing/leading one.
The spite, vitriol, and hateful comments this poor person was subject to, where frankly amazing and depressing. After having run a few on Defiant, I stuck up for them - any number of reasons can stop a raid in its tracks.
Needless to say I didn't make many friends that day either.
But Hey-Ho. I see the forums as a place to read up on information and will only post if I have something to say.

The french and German communities will still be distinctive, because I'd assume they'll be pretty much untouched, and have the same sections as they do now - but for the English speaking sections, I think only the Defiant and Unions ections will survive, as every other section here is duplicated on the American baords, except for the New Player one.
But if enough of you ask, they might make a Euro hang out sticky someplace

My only wonders are whether to change forum handle to my global ID, or just keep it as is. Also whether people's various titles would be kept? Such as the Creative Genii etcetera.
