Sorry Mumsy, but that's wrong. The EU servers are about 4 years old now, whereas the US ones were upgraded last year.

Some sad predictions there FFM, ... PlayNC are still advertising a Localisation manager position (albeit it may have been just not taken down yet). I agree with you re: the unretainability of the UK arm if these machinations are anything to go by.

Ninja edited FFM - sorry - I posted then remembered that it was the US tech that was upgraded to meet out specs not the other way round, - but yeah, emphasis on the EU. infrastructure inbetween that is the cause of much of our lag.

For better or worse, that sounds feasible.

If they do move everyone on a particular EU server to the same server on the US, I hope the SG bases and membership go with them - can see it leading to a lot more account closures if they don't.

Thats what i hope too.

Also on an i told you so note, it seems the EU havent been quite as thriving as some have argued.

Okay i forgot the count of my attempts to post my opinion on such a delicate matter.

I am really sorry about people who lost their job. I hope they can find new one soon and continue their lives without much trouble.

For game's future.... I don't know what will future brings but it is a game after all. I will be cherish the memories i accuried during my time in here but nothing is more depressing than seeing people left without jobs for me for now.

Yeah transfering characters will be too much trouble because of the names. Giving a fresh account seems a better idea.

Anyway i won't mind re-starting Psy-knight and Apostle on US while stalking Golden Girl.

And would lose them a HUGE chunk of the EU player-base.

My personal preference would be for them to add the EU servers to the US serverlist, then allow paid-for transfers as normal. That would work out nicely for me. But losing everything I've worked 3+ years to achieve? No thanks.

Which is why I think something like my prediction is more likely.

It'll cost them a bit of money to do such a marger BUT, they'll lose less people that if they just cut us all off and made us start fresh. I know that I for one probably would accept a transfer (depending on names), but if I LOST my chars and vet rewards etc, I'd just go.

On the other hand there weren't that many Korean players, and at the time the only options for players from there were to restart on the US servers or drop the genre altogether.

There are enough EU players, with alternative superhero games just round the (slightly remote) corner, that they might not want to risk us all deciding "hang it all, if I've got to restart anyway I might as well do it on DCUO/CO".

The Korean servers were only up for a short while and had little take-up. I doubt the number of accounts was anywhere near that in the EU.

That's almost my preferred option - I could handle rebooting my toons, provided I can keep their names, Vet Rewards and of course, character slots and bolt on packs that I've purchased.
