Just as an aside, neither of my accounts have actually been inactive. I always meant to play, I just never really felt like it until now.

Apart from the worry that server merging usually means MMO death (in the long run) my only real concern is my name. I know there is another Mr Marvellous on Defiant. I've no idea who they are or who they are or how long they have been playing.
If the servers merge I could, very possible, loose this name. A name that I have spent a lot of time (and some money) on. I have invested a lot in to this character. It's part of who I am now and I really don't want to loose that.
Other than that, if things really are that bad then some sort of server merge might well be needed. I really don't know because I've been away so long.
Don't know what it is like on other servers, but I am never short of teams on Union.

but a merge of heroes and villain market merge might but it never going to happen though

You're plain wrong on this one.
The consignment house (WW and BM) is, iirc, housed on it's own server. Certainly it is shared between all live (non-training room) servers, both in the EU and US.
The only split is between WW for CoH and BM for CoV.
So, a hero putting an item for sale at WW can have it bought by any hero on any server anywhere. Likewise, a villain selling an item on BM can have it bought by any villain on any server anywhere.
So any form of server merge would not affect the CH market prices and availability.

i just read the thead started by ffm, on servers merge fears and stuff.
and it seems to me i'll be the only 1 happy with a situation like this O-o
there r many points i can see that will justify and , imho, make this though sensefull (dunno if i can say like that).
mre ppl to play with at every time of day and night so more friends to make too

more economic resources (same discussion made for ingame ads) translated into more ppl workin on improvements and expansions
many ppl r levin the game, eu servers will be low on population inesorabily(?), and many ppl i know r already movin to us so union, the most filled server on eu will have or already has a decrease on users.
GR says will be difficult to merge in tech terms.....give us, as some1 suggested, a free transfer token and i'll be the 1st of many, i think, who will do in notime.
