  1. So I started up a Inv/SS tanker, a Emp/Psy defender (To replace Golden Angel) and some kind of scrapper or blaster at some point are in the plans.

Did a task force on Freedom, good group, very quickly got together. So surprised by how busy the game still is after all this time!
  2. From what I've experienced from Freedom so far its a big game of "Spot of the Avengers".
  3. Thanks for the welcomes people. Decided to roll up a new tank and defender. Most likely going to put money into a subscription next week. Just need a server to move too, I'm thinking Virtue.

If anyone wants to chat, invite me to a super group or send me death threats, my handle is @Golden Angel

  5. Chances are I'll either transfer characters to Virtue, or role a new one later. I'm not a VIP yet, planning on becoming one in a few weeks once I have some spare funds, if I am still playing then.
  6. Ah, I have no free slots left to move server, but If I get into the game I'll buy a server transfer.
  7. Hello, I'm a returning player. I stopped playing City of Heroes shortly before the architect missions were added. Maybe people remember? Doubt it. Anyways..

I'm wondering what the state of the game is, it seems populated enough on Freedom, my question is more about grouping. I've seen pretty much nonstop spam for "Farming", which seems to be something to do with the architect system (Which I feared would happen..).

Do people run task forces anymore, Hazard zones and the like? Right now the game seems rather different than what I remember.

I guess a second question would be are there any Freedom based Hero supergroups interested in mature (Age wise) returning players who are not really interested in farming, but doing story arcs?
  8. Thanks for the replies. Taken note of some of the tips given to me in this thread along with other guides I have read about Empath and Arch. Here is my hopefully finished build.
Edit: Oh, just to point out.. The slotting levels are all off. I won't be waiting till level 40+ to slot my heals.. Just the way the slotted in the hero builder. ^^

Really looking forward to getting this gal to 50.

    80.4mb Download?

Well considering the "Witch Leather" top has been found, it looks like this might of been the Magic Booster. Which for one have been looking forward too.

    80.4mb of animated hair, frankly.

    I like the suggestions, actually.
Yes some do come under power customisation, sort of. The ice/flame/wind feet for example...
And Hells YES to the teleport changes! Please oh lord...I quite like it as a themed thing, but having to click and point and fall....ugh. And lag = curb pizza.
And yes to no fall damage, even if it is negligable. My Stalker has metal legs, hes not going to notice a piddly mile high drop seriously.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just the thought of taking teleport on any character chills me to the core. Such.. A horrid.. Power. No offense taken though, some people min/max while others don't. Also, nice to see you too.

City Traveler Badge: Hit the ground runningÂ… this badge unlocks access to the following Power Pools at level 6, so players can access Tier 1, 2, or 3 powers early on.

    Well.. That is fair. :/

Granite Armour, the signature power of stone tankers, has -fly and -jump. I.e. you can't use superjump with it turned on.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I pick travel powers based on which one fits the character and/or looks the most fun..

Guess my way of thinking is wrong then eh?

    Travel Powers

Its been well over a year since I played my stone tanker.. So I have little clue what either of you are talking about.
  16. WinterFlare, you could of also had "About as crazy as purse thieves fighting an elderly lady for eight hours."
  17. Golden_Angel

    Travel Powers

Maybe throwing ideas is a little late in the game for CoX.. But perhaps CoX2, which is totally coming.. Right devs?

    Flight
When flying in a straight line for a few seconds, you go 'super sonic' doubling speed, but you are unable to turn till you slow back down. Great for crossing those terribly long cities.

    Super Speed
So speedy! Run up buildings! Tip toe across the water! Best of all? No longer will your fight glow like you're feet are on fire! Oh.. Less that is your thing. Visit the tailor in order to pimp out your feet, run with a trail of fire or ice, move so fast you become a blur of electric flashes, perhaps just turn all that off and look like a natural MA/Regen scrapper who wasn't forced to ruin his look by picking up super speed for faster Task Forces!

    Teleport
Do you enjoy having to click teleport nonstop? I am sure some people do.. Personally however, lets have that pesky teleport be a toggle that changes your forward key into your teleport key. Just aim your character with the mouse and start 'running'! Watch as you teleport buggly into a building.. Only too show up right on the other side! You know, like you are teleporting or something, because teleporting around buildings is kinda silly.

    Super Jump
Falling damage? Excuse me?! Falling damage? Get that out of here, my stone tankers feet are made from solid rock.. He cares little for falling damage.
  18. My main is my much loved defender, whom I use whenever my party is around (Shame I can't go out level them, would annoy 'em).. So I wanted something for solo play. Scrapper seems quite fun, I haven't made one past 10 before..

So I tried fire/fire, so far it is level 8 and I am in love, but it is really hard to judge how well a power combo can solo, because at these low levels, everything can solo.

Friend of mine has a MA/Regen scrapper whom is crazy good at level 40, is Fire/Fire good as well, or will I suffer from a lack of health regen.. Or whatever. Oh, I do plan on getting health/Stm right away, getting my super speed later at 24.
  19. Been playing this game off and on since its release and i've only seen the first three task forces. I can't wait to do Statemans TF.

Hah, you look so different then how I remember Zortal from 2005, when I last saw you.

    My new defender, Empathy Arrow.

  21. Is Explosive Arrow even worth taking? So far its been kinda.. Well iffy. The knockback doesn't happen often, and slotting it for damage seems like a waste when I could put those slots into Rain of Arrows.

Edit: I'll take Res.. Got enough damage moves as it is.

  22. So I started a new Empathy Defender, I got Golden Angel to level 30 and.. Well she sucked. Could deal no damage, and being able to heal like crazy meant little if my buffing and damage sucked. Empathy Arrow is currently level 21, and is miles better in terms of team work then Angel.. She is keeping everyone buffed, healed and still doing nice damage but how will this work out at 50?

What am I hoping for with Empathy Arrow? Good damage, good heals, great buffs and a little control at the end.

Soo anyways, here is the build. It is most likely terrible.

  23. Update, can't use saved costumes, but I can now at least use the tailor.
  24. I just got some inf from my main character, also didn't work. I flat out can't change my outfit, friend logged in and changed something.. It worked. I'm logging in now to see he has unbugged my character.

    ...

Nope, I still can't change it. I could change other characters.. Seems only Empathy Arrow is bugged. Sending a costume file over to the friend so he can change my outfit.. But yeah, game breaking bug. :/
  25. They don't work. Make changes, try to pay with the reward, doesn't change outfit.
