Ok this thread is getting the way of all the others before it ...and look its friday!!

I can see your point to a certain extent, however, there is - on union a myriad of channels that are frequented and are open to join, union chat - sals badgehunters to name but a few, I play almost every evening for at least an hour and atlas always has some chat going on, atm however PD is quite full with the winter event.

Well first of all ive never seen so many lowbie toons running round with tea trays strapped to their arms, and secondly, our SG has recently took on 4 new players, and by new I mean just picked up the game.
Now yes the influx of new players may not be as high as others but this games strength (imho) is in its community, you want to RP go have fun at GG/PD etc...you want to attain shiny badges, speak to the loons on sals, you want to bounce around atlas aimlessly, speak to Damz, there is enough going on each night for me to not get bored.

Now this I disagree with, ..my sg The Art of War isnt big in numbers (10-12) active members tops...but we still rank high enough due to one simple thing, not one of us is afraid to ask around and get a team going, i may have 15 no's before i get a pug on the roll, but again, channels such as sals and union chat help big time.
Plus ...no one is forcing you to join an sg, there are plenty of regulars I team with who have one man sg's and are happy with it.

Again I dont get this, first of all (and this is only my opinion) I like to play hard and fast (no innuendo please) its how I get better at my toons, but to be objective, I can see that may not suit other peoples playstyles, but no one is forcing you to join TF's there are radios / arcs to run, sometimes the teaming may be sluggish and other times you may get a raft of requests but doesnt mean you cant adapt to it.

I dunno man maybe I see things differently...I started my tenure on vills then swapped to heroes after my corr got maxxed (mostly soloed too) so heroes seemed like an overcrowded place in comparison.

But to wrap up, join some channels, pm me in game if you need to, just be pro-active, sitting around saying the game is dying isnt going to change it,team up/send tells/ play solo/ play chilled/ play aggressive ....just play till you cant see a reason to play anymore, then just move on if needs be. hope you dont take anything as personal mate, im just offering a counter opinion.

Annnyway all im tryin to say is that in my own opinion (and others differ) this game is awesome and I would be sad if it ended but im like a magpie...theres always something new and shiny to grab my attention.

Now can we pleeeease stop these threads?


In addition I would pay to see a cross server arena match between ML and GG (my money would be on ML - cookies versus smileys)

Why would they want that? CoX hardly poses a threat to them at all.

But more importantly, Champions Online is a completely different game. Different approach.
Not to mention it has a completely different look and feel compaired to CoX.

In fact I hate the look and feel of CO and I am absolutely not interested in playing it.

DC Universe Online is SOE. Not much need to be said about that one.
It's completely dumbed down so they can release it for the PS3 as well and by the looks of it, it will also be MicroTransaction based....as that's what The Smed want's his future games to be heading at.

So at this moment, all 3 hero games are hardly posing a threat to eachother, because they are marketing 3 complete different audiences.

CoX - Superhero MMO
CO - Superhero MMO

That's enough for them to be in competition. Non fantasy MMO's are a niche corner of the MMO market, which means there's more competition in between them.

Um because for one any competition could be seen as bad if CoH was to go down there would be a hoard of Super hero MMO players looking for a new game and CO could fill that void (as could DC) also CoH, Co, and DCO are all aimed at the same market they may have different visual styles but there effectively the same idea (you take on the roll of a super hero and interact with a word populated by other heroes) so I'm afraid your wrong when you say they are aimed at different audiences that's like saying dooms not a threat to unreal tournament because they have different visual looks and ones tournament based and the others story driven (just) there still both firmly in the first person shooter category just like CoH, CO, and DCO are all in the Superhero MMO category.

It's no secret that between the issue releases the populations are ....welll ....a bit low on both servers.

What I don't understand is. Why not merge Defiant and Union into one server.

One English Server = One, lot more active, English community!

It would be nice to see all the various zones more active again.

And it will be more fun for new people who join or people rolling ALT's to have an easier time to level up and actually see people around.

Joining high level Task Forces aren't exactly fun. You powerlevel like crazy through side kicking and so missing out on a lot of fun content.

As at this moment it's pretty much the only group thing going on mostly. Higher level task forces zerging through instances.

I think it would be better for the long run and might keep players subscribed longer, when you have just one English Server that is a lot more active then the two we have now.

Me and my gf really enjoy CoX, especially my gf. But we just kept getting bored after a short while, because there aren't many players around most days ....making the world feel a bit empty and less immersive.
Not to mention that the chat channels are really dead silent.

And this is why a lot of people don't bother with this subject anymore. It will start a lot mess. It will start people to throw flames. And unfortunately it won't change the fact that a lot of people would like a thing like this to happen.

But in the meanwhile.

Join the channels. Gather some friends and move to Heroside Union if you like to experience a more less lonely game. Yes with the proper channels even Defiant got fun activity going on as they got some splendid players over there. But Union is still more active and easier to get into.

You made zero point all i see is some one having a tantrum that i would normally associated with a 2 year old.

And who's this amazing chosen few i see loads of opinions on this forum every day i don't agree with them all but there still opinions and people still have them i fail to see where this great conspiracy that there's some elite group about here and that only they have a valid opinion if that was the case there would be no disagreements on here and i would have no one to argue with.

EU servers populations are great and better than ever, there's no need to merge servers, everyone who thinks a server merge is a good idea is wrong because EU servers populations are great and better than ever and they're increasingly non stop plus the devs have plans that will unfold soon to dramatically raise the populations not only in US and EU servers, but also to re-open Korean servers and anyone who thinks otehrwise is wrong. The fact that people complain about low populations on EU servers on almost a daily basis means nothing since I joined a team last week.


What? Couldn't let pass the opportunity to become a forum "gud boy" even if I am not in NCSoft payroll like some forum posters seem to be

I might get demolished here, but why do people want to have a pop at the guy? He hasn't heard of the doom threads before, and just because he didn't use Search he's suddenly a target for insults.

Also a few other points...

No server merges are NOT set in stone. There are no CURRENT plans, but any day the devs could decide "Hey the popualtion is low let's merge the servers". Nothing is ever set in stone in a MMO, because the devs have the power to make it happen.

Also, I think people post a lot of the time because they're trying to get an opnion across. Sure, they've DONE that, but there so persistent, and that's not always a bad thing. There's a variety of different users who DO want a server merge: there's a variety of different users who DON'T.

If we all just leave the people who want a server merge ALONE, then maybe they will go away. They have a opnion, they voiced it; if we just ignore them instead of posting in them, they will go away.

It's like a ridiculer. Someone ridicules you for any reason, you ignore them - guess what? They stop.

So in all, we should just cut the guy some slack, ignore him, and then these things will stop.

Also, why is everyone rating these threads 1 star? The guy's just getting a opnion/suggestion across. Ugh.

That's your perspective. Others seem to find different PUGs every time they log on, both on Heroes and Villains, and participate from missions to TF/SF and various other sundries. Think it's a question of being part of active SGs or channels and develop a list of globals that actually like to play the game. Of course, YMMV. For me Defiant is very alive and well, thank you very much, and in no need to merge with Union.

I'm a confirmed anti-merge protestor, but rather than beat him up for his viewpoint I think we should encourage Guillermo to read the official post about the subject and then suggest he joins us in observing the ceasefire which GR has called on the subject....

Who knows, both sides might actually enjoy a game of footy between the trenches on Christmas Day

Yes the numbers are down. But I don't think a merger would help. A lot of us have Alts on both servers.Plus losing a number of players who can't get their alts name (I would be among them). I don't know what the answer is but merger is not it.
