My laptop resolution is 1280 x 800

1680x1050. I don't maximize it though.

1440x900 and 1024x768 (2 setups)

When I use it at work - which is where I mainly use it... (not sure what that says about me!). Res is 1280 * 1024.

On my laptop, which I often use it on, 1280 * 800.
On my main computer, I rarely use the main screen which is 1680 * 1050, as this has CoH on it, I sometimes use Hero Planner on the second screen, which is 1440 * 900.

I normally aim my software for 1024*768, as that's the minimum my customers have. Also, you'll see that works with most of the resolutions people have posted here.

Don't know whether this helps, but... I run a video-intensive site with about 1m UVs a month, and have Omniture tracking. This is what they say the most popular screen resolutions are for my site...

1. 1024 x 768 40.8%
2. 1280 x 800 23.8%
3. 1280 x 1024 14.0%
4. 1400 x 864 7.3%
5. 800 x 600 4.3%
6. 1600 x 1050 2.7%
7. 1152 x 864 2.6%
8. 1280 x 768 2.2%
9. 1920 x 1200 0.6%
10. 1024 x 600 0.4%

And for teh intarnetz as a whole (well, all the sites they track)...
1. 1024 x 768 36.1%
2. 1280 x 800 16.5%
3. 1280 x 1024 13.0%
4. 1400 x 864 7.0%
5. 800 x 600 4.6%
6. 1600 x 1050 4.5%
7. 1152 x 864 2.7%
8. 1280 x 768 2.4%
9. 1920 x 1200 1.3%
10. 1024 x 600 0.3%

Given that the main audience for my and other viddyo sites is "bored office workers goofing off", that probably explains the high prevalence of 800s and 1024s. I wouldn't worry about 800s too much, as if they can't support that high a screen res they're probably not gamer machines. OV_RealDark has a point - 1024s are pretty much core audience and a good standard.

There's some pretty weird resses out there, though - who the heck runs 3200x768??

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

Matrox Triple Head thing, or the software equivalent. There are also some monitors that do the same thing but are extremely expensive. And I know one or two multi-boxers who use weird screen spanning software that has the effective resolution to 2/3/4 x the horizontal. eg 4096x768... or a weirder one 1800x1400 (two widescreens in portrait mode then spanned across each game window was running at 900x700 )

edit: for erroneous fours '4'...

1440x900 on laptop and 1280x1024 on the PC

I normally make the builds on the PC then display them on the laptop while I'm leveling

ok dunno if this is a sensible question or not but I do like to max my mids when I'm using it and sometimes the text can be a bit small. Would it be possible to offer it in a choice of resolutions?

Not that I'm really in your intended audience, as while I've got the planner installed, I don't use it or any other planners, as I prefer my toons to grow 'organically'.

(this of course leads, as Doc T knows, to my recent habit of not getting travel powers until stupidly late, my current record being not getting Superjump until level 49 )

1280x1024, incidentally, is the maximum resolution my olde ancient Trinitron Monitor will handle. That, and the fact that my PC probably wouldn't handle anything more than that either, even if the monitor was capable.

Glad you asked.

As said before, it would be nice to have some flexibility when using lower resolutions on netbooks or umpc's. I tried with an MSI Wind and because there were no scrollbars on the window it was pretty unusable. I've just bought an Advent U1A tablet and I'd like to use it on that too, sadly I cant.

1680 x 1050 on desktop, which its fine on.

On my 1024x600 MSI Wind laptop, its too big to fit on the screen.

Posted

1920 x 1200 here (Yay for Christmas! ) but I use the designer in it's default size as it looks just fine like that.

Dual screen setup here 1600x1200 primary screen+1024x768 for the secondary here
although I have been known to use 1800x1440 on the primary on occassion.
If I'm running CoX I'd expect to run mids in the secondary but would have it on the primary screen when not in game.

I dont maximise it, current size seems OK for me.

I do not suffer from altitis, I enjoy every character of it.

1650x1080 here - am quite happy for it to remain the size it is in windowed form. Very handy

I use 1600 x 1200 and the only thing I maximize is games
but I would however like the size of the window to be saved
with the I13 support the epic pool powers sometimes get a scrollbar wich I'm not too crazy about, so I make the window just a bit bigger, but when I sellect a new AT the window resizes back to original size

just a bit anoying but not that bad
and I use Vista

oh... one thing I would love is the option to check my builds with buffs
like if I make a tank, I'd like to see the numbers on him with a buff like Fort or FS or ice shields and so on

Try using /wdwsave and /wdwload

Just save your settings once you're happy with them and load them onto your other alts. It should work (in theory )
