While I'm no longer part of the team that develops the software, it does still sport my name, so I'd like to make an incredibly pedantic correction to Avatea's post.
My nickname is "Mids", not "Mid", therefore if you include one, the apostrophe goes after the 's'. Mids' Hero Designer, not Mid's.
Aside from that, go forth, make awesome builds, and have fun! -
Alas, the time has come for me to retire from development and maintenance of Mids' Hero/Villain Designer.
It's sad to say, but I'm not able to give it the level of attention and time that I could in the past.
So, with that in mind, I've taken the difficult decision to pass it on to someone who can give it the level of commitment it needs, as I'd very much like it to remain available and useful as a resource for the CoX community.
Steiner at the Titan Network has agreed to take it on, and will be handling future updates and such. Though I'm sure I'll be checking up on him from time to time to keep him on the straight and narrow.
I'd like to thank the community as a whole for the support and positive feedback you've always given me, I've very much enjoyed my tenure as 'planner guy'. -

That's because Mids only allows for one buff. Since he is doing it for free, I think it can be alowed some limitations. If it bothers you so much you could fix it yourself.
[/ QUOTE ] The effects tab gives a rundown of the full damage buff.
Sapphic_Neko, you can key in the level of the IO while in the picker.
if you're changing the level of a placed enhancement, right-click it, key in the level, and hit enter. -
That's very helpful indeed, thanks!

I code and use MxD at a screen resolution of 1280x1024 with a display DPI setting of 'Normal Size (96 DPI)'.
It'd be really helpful for me to know the most commonly used resolutions by those who use the Hero/Villain Designer, so that when I work on the user interface, I can size and lay out elements accordingly.
So, please post your screen resolutions below. I'd be much obliged. -
The way it decides on which effects stack is now automatic rather than manually set by a flag. off the top of my head, you need to set the power to scale, and then edit the effects of AM as follows:
Affects: Self
Effect Can Stack: Yes
The effect string should then have '(Variable)' at the end. -
The new folder is My Documents\Hero & Villain Builds
Which, I admit, I should have made it use right from the start. Better late than never... -

ive just notice tht for my dom hibernate duration is 120 seconds! i thought hib was only 30 or have i gone noob for the night?

The 120s duration is probably the 'NoPhase' power that is triggered when you use it to stop you re-phasing/hibernating too soon. -
The most recent update to Mids' Hero & Villain Designer is now available, with support for Issue 13!
You can get it from www.cohplanner.com or via the program's auto-update feature if you already have a previous version.
Please note that to install this new version, you will be prompted to un-install your old version first, as some of the changes to features and deployment may not behave as expected otherwise.
The Microsoft uninstaller is quite well behaved and should leave your saved builds right where they are, as it has throughout testing, but I still advise backing them up anyhow.
This release has a new default save location inside the current user's My Documents folder to be more sensible and Vista-friendly. It's recommended, but not essential, that you move your save files to there after installing. -

Basicly just wondering if Mids is doing a update for issue 13 or has he stopped doing the updates now? is he even here anymore?
[/ QUOTE ]
Wonder no more!
Also, the bug report form, email address in the about box, forum PMs here and forum PMs at Titan all end up in my mailbox. They're usually the best way to get a direct answer. -
A new version with the Issue 13 powersets and IOs should be ready in a couple of days. Working on it!

The database editor tends to be a little bit awkward, it's there primarily for me to use when I need to alter something. I leave it enabled in the release build because people have asked me to, although as already observed, it's not had close to as much testing and so on as the rest of the program. Fixing any glitches in it is generaly very low priority because it's not a primary feature of the program, although I will look at it when I get time.
There's something important that I ought to point out for anyone playing with it to add new powers...
Every power in the database has a permanent index value set the first time I add it to the database. The save files use that index value to store their powers.
If you add a new set now, any saved builds using that set MAY NOT load correctly when the program update gets applied, as the index values may be different. -

I'd like to nominate Captain Cathode for his rather rockin' promotional vid for our Sg, Honourable United. The post can be found here.
Cheers!
[/ QUOTE ]I second this nomination. -
That was pretty bad.
In fact, it was worse than that. It was an apalling display of foul-mouthed idiocy, and any new players who happened to arrive in Atlas at that time probably wondered if they'd come to the right game.
Request and Broadcast aren't the place for arguments, and certainly not for ones of the kind being engaged in that evening.
Those involved should be ashamed of themselves. -
Wow, 50 already?! Good going, congrats!

I'm in. Someone has to keep Sally and Jakey out of trouble.
