Anyway: we've extended the event by 2 days here to cover for the shakey start to the event. It will be finalising on Wednesday morning, so there's a couple more days of trick or treating and Apocalypse's to come yet

[/ QUOTE ]

If I may be so bold as to pose a question ...

I seem to recall that one of the rednames wrote that it is in some way or another possible for players to trigger a Zombie Apocalypse, just as a Rikti Invasion is triggered in a random zone when somebody completes the Lady Grey Task Force.

Now, in my humble opinion it would be a bit pointless to implement such a feature if the Zombie Apocalypses by design were to be limited to running continuously during the Halloween Event, so am I right in thinking that it might indeed be possible to trigger a Zombie Apocalypse in a random zone even after the Halloween Event has ended ... ?

I don't know if you're allowed to tell, but I figure it can't hurt to ask.

I understand that some people are bored, but the poor devs can't win can they? The event was a bit buggy to start with causing lots of moans and complaints, so to make up for a shaky start they extend it by a couple of days to apologise and get moans and complaints.

Some of us have commitments meaning we have to play less than others and extending the event means we get a bit more fun with ToTing and zombies. I'm just happy to be involved with a game where the people who run it care enough about the players to extend an event to make up for a poor start.

My personal opinion, Thank you devs, I still love you

From what someone in my SG said - 'think I'm starting to suffer from digital S.A.D.'

Although IMO the event seems to have gone on a bit to long this year its been very fun! Thanks Devs

If your mouse has greater processing power than your gfx card, the answer is yes.

They could have avoided the problems AND the complaints if they'd just tested the bloody thing properly in the first place.

Look at WoW's event! Huge fun, pretty much bug free, and ENDED right after Halloween!

This.

With the added few days, I've finally managed to get the badges on all of my alts and it's been great fun doing so. Thanks.

Although I am also curious about the answer to Banana's question.

Ah, but I didn't complain about the shakey start because, frankly, I didn't notice a flakey start. I just saw all the moaning threads about it.

Personally, I couldn't stand WoW's event for longer than a day. No, I didn't thing the CoX one was actually very much more fun, but at least it didn't involve getting on raid teams or running around every inn on the map (at the speed of a foot-sore snail).

At a guess, the Apocolypse was triggered by some other event to do with the Halloween event, say players knock on 25000 doors, or something stupid. So, it's probably unlikely that there will be random zombie uprisings until next year. But it's not like I know.

The event was tested both internally and on the US Training Room. Unfortunately the bug that caused the event to randomly switch off did not manifest itself during those tests.

Well... If they'd had it on the US training room for a bit more than 90 minutes, they might have noticed it!

You've managed to give out about them continuing to pop out of the ground and complain about their spawns being broken and needing to be GM kicked, all in the one thread. Make your mind up man

Hmm... a thought occurs.

I realise that the reason I'm roundly fed up of this event is that I hate grinding. This makes me a hard player for MMO programmers to code for, because MMOs are made of grind.

I've got pretty much all the Halloween badges on the toon I use most currently. I got them in about three days. Do I want to rush about getting them on my alts? No. Why? I've done it, thanks. Maybe next year.

(And I get better XP by a long way running Borea's RWZ missions, so that's not an excuse either.)

So, that's why I'm fed up with it. A week, 10 days, would have been plenty long enough, and now it's pretty much a full week longer than that...

Meh, personal preference.

I cant see the problem, if you are sick of it (like i am too) just stand somewhere they dont spawn, or god forbid, go and do a mission.

I run missions (and the RWZ doesn't seem to get zombies... useful that), however, I also roleplay and the city has been sitting under a cloud of inky blackness for two weeks. By now, frankly, the entire city should be panicing, or leaving for places where the sun shines, and all the grass should be dying.

It's just getting silly.
