And the fact we need to do 3 websites :-).

[/ QUOTE ]

City of Heroes websites? Or just the main PlayNC one?

Or is the City Vault getting it's own separate website?

[/ QUOTE ]

Just to confirm, I was referring to needing to prepare a site for each language.

I don't yet know when we'll have the new site design for Europe, I'm afraid. I will keep you as informed as I can, however.

Definitely ... Not got a set date yet, but I'm expecting a beta version of the new forums within a very short period.

Tell the forum guy that there's a pint or 2 in it for him if he hurries it up.

Will ours be keeping the "city sights" and "hall of fame" when we get ours updated?

@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!

It doesn't render properly in Opera, the sidebar text is mangled. Works in Konquerer though And in IE6 under WINE, oddly, since the US boards reported it hanging their IE6.

Tis a nice site though, personally I don't like fullscreen background images, but the side links and sub-menu systems are very nice. As is the look-and-feel of the whole site

Personally I think it's lost its individuality, it looks like many, many others sites unlike the old one that was unique.

Plus what happened to the link to the EU?

I believe we will be, and hopefully in a form that will make submission and (for us) administration easier .

IE6 here working properly.

But it looks a bit ... errm.. cheap. nofi offcourse. But taking rendered font-images rather then normal (bigsize) font would been better. (specialy on the left menu).

I really like it. The look is sleek and updated, brings the site up to date.

The media section is a lot better and the whole thing runs perfectly fine in Firefox.

The only thing I dont like is the server page, as everything is way too big, though it wouldnt matter here as we only have 5 if you count test.

Zhaan, Chakyra, Fiorina 161, Aeryn, Polly Nation, Dee Pression, Shazanne, Night Jester and too many more to mention.

At first sight .. I am not a big fan of this kind of layout. It is bigger in fonts and more like an advertizing. I just prefer the look that we have now in eu.

But that's just my opinion.

- I miss the link (as flag) for eu... and I think all sites should ave all links to different languages. It will make the streamlining of downloading the correct updater a lot safer too.
- I noticed white font on light grey background in patch section for the dates. That is not easy readable.
- The game info section is improved a lot... I like it.
- The fansite/supergroup site page should show all sites incl the eu ones. The internet doesn't restrict that. It also should be divided by server.
- Big improvement on the video section btw...

for the moment...

- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!

I must say I do prefer our current site, mostly for practical reasons. I always prefer a plain baground to large background images, I think it looks less tacky. If you feel you have to impress people with the background it draws them away from what you have to say. It should only be used when there's nothing worthwhile to say, which isn't true for this game

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"

Using text rather than pre-made images is going to be easier to administrate plus will generally work better for people who use non-standard browsers. (Screen readers for example.)

Personally I was amazed that it is a <table> free design and seems fairly standards compliant.

Agreed I much prefer the exiting layout/style, though losing the annoyingly large header would be nice.

Yep, its is. Agreed on the Text thing too, I'd always prefer Text links for various reasons over images (Text size can be increased / decreased better by the Browser for example).

Site is a bit image-heavy for my tastes to be honest.

I like the new site design. It's much more streamlined and clearer than the current EU design, wich is a bit chaotic and not very intuitive imo. But most importantly, for me, the menus navigate a lot faster than the current ones.

GDlib anyone?

Added that screenreaders pick the caption part of <img tags, or easier, make it overlapping the normal text.

The bigtext on the original site were nicer, combined with the the new flash thingies on the right with nice smooth text it just looks cheap.

And sigh, [censored] forums...

I preferred the old layout, mainly because now everything is so big I would say it looks like (if I were a cynic) it has been designed for navigation by either a): young children or b): The sight-impaired....

That said its very big and colourful and certainly looks far more media friendly in its layout re: lots of imbedded videos and galleries.
...talking of galleries the expanded view of the 'City of Kittenz' introduction under fan zone>fan art is a broken link and doesnt work for me. /em,shakefist.

Not too bad overall I'd say, If it is able to do things the old site couldn't then it is of course an improvement and very welcome.

Ah feck it. That looks close to what I was going to use myself. Now I shall have to redesign or get accused of copying.
