The first enemy gives you 25%, the others give you less. According to the description anyway.

Why not? Captain America, Mr Shield himself also have an increased health regen. Wonder Woman i can recall having a shield once in a while has powers close to Hercules himself, not some stupid defense.
Added, if you prefer more realistic, whielding a shield in such maner requires great training (as seen for example on 300), thus increased natural strength would be logical.
Gamewise, take a look at Paladin (WoW), Paragon (GW), Guardian (AoC), and sortlike.

Indeed, sounds like the VEAT full teams, having softcap defence due 1 power alone. But it has no active damage aura, so you need to wack stuff

If you want to get technical, neither of those people you mentioned have their regeneration bolstered by a shield.

You can keep running without ever taking a break, leap over vehicles in a single bound, get into extended fights with super humans and still have enough left in you to /em dance afterwards. Let's see the Spartans do that.

None of those classes regenerated because of their shield. They regenerated because they had other abilities.
Are people really arguing realism in a game about superheroes??
Seriously, surely it's up to the player to come up with the reason why the shield helps regenerate helth, I could come up with numerous off the top of my head, (magic, technologcal etc) so it's not beyond the realms of possibilty.....within the game itself!!

Such line, i never seen a katana or broadsword give the whielder a super damage boost, neither a gun spray unlimited bullets.
Then, along your line of view, several powers of this set have NOTHING to do with a shield: Phalanx, active, AaO (except the deflect, but inv/wp/ice does the same) and offcourse One with the shield, wich is basicly the WP/Inv combo tier9.
Even, remove the shield and you got a VEAT/Inv/SR set that can gain the deflection by its armor.
As i said on DB, if i want to play a proper set, i play another game.

I like this, but find it odd that it only applies to teammates, do they think it would be overpowered otherwise? It doesn't seem to make logical sense unless you turn around with your back to the enemy hold the shield in front of your friends...

That really is based on making a Phalanx where you protect the guy to the left and clearly behind. Teaming up with other shield players would be playing as intended. I would have to give in and play with other Shield Tankers as a Tanker but I would prefer Scrappers. These Scrappers are extra team friendly so one such "anti scrapper" who keeps harping on that scrappers are useless in teams might make one now.
On a side note:
The shield set isn't totally about protection from the shield itself unless one wants it to be. Your character is entitled to superhuman qualities too. Active Defense, Against all Odds and True Grit can have nothing to do with the shield whilst One with the Shield is part shield and part your character hence being one with so I disagree on having to think that the shield is providing +regen and +end recov.

Regarding AV's, how did Ice for example handle versus Recluse or any high hitting mob? Other sets have rather high (if not capped) SL resist, would help big time on incomming damage while tanking 1-2 AV's.

Claiming Shields should have high levels of regeneration because comic heroes had it - from sources that weren't a shield at that - is inherently flawed.

Just read on the US boards that if castle cant sort out the damage problem of of the shield charge attack it might get changed hope not, thats the one power thats sold the set to me.

Regarding Shield Charge, I'm already imagining clever keybinds to alert fellow shielders to prepare for said charge.

Edit: Just on an extra note, Fight Pool is something I would consider on this as, unless people can handle the damage on me I won't like anyone near me. The buff to and from teams is going to be of situational benefit and although I might possibly want team mates offering me extra defense from nearness I'd sooner be able to get the equivalent without too..tff dual builds aye. In fact at 8ft radius why bother with Phalanx fighting? That should be 7% def for 1 target XD

Yeah, it's bound to be a burger to get the timing right, with having to fire the cone knockdown, then move the player to the target location, and have the knockdown effect co-inside with the movement. All this with variable amounts of latency.
Another quirk that might be causing problems with this, is you could charge 2 feet, and still knock down someone 60 feet away.
I really should do something about this signature.
