Thought buffs had no effect on it. 
You can't buff the damage but it does a to-hit check so more to-hit you have, the more likely you are to hit all

To be perfectly honest, I can imagine a similar crowd gathering on *any* ship once word gets around that a woman is on board.
I would have outlevelled the mission until they were green and turned them into mince.

My Crab spider would love to do that. He's been doing Council missions lately since they seem to add more into each drop, and they pose, so they don't move, as well as being in tighter formations.
Best thing if you think you can't take them on is to try to herd a bunch of them by running in front and quickly nipping off to the right behind a crate. With luck, only like 10 at most will follow. :3

I have to admit, I think I'd have at least started hacking. I don't generally succumb to Scrapperlock, but that's just too appealing. I'd drop a lot of insps and wade in, all those tightly-packed mobs... glorious amounts of regen.

Those are mobs of 3 which is correct for solo heroic. Theres just a lot of groups close together. This is the point you learn to pull so you don't get overwhelmed.
You really should see it on a team of 8 on the second top difficulty to get bigger spawns even more so if you've a kheld on the team and so get quants in there adding to the numbers.

but
This was just slightly ridiculous for a toon barely out of single figures with the mission on the easiest setting. Either someone out there seriously doesn't like me and sent the entire council army after me or I had all the mobs for the entire map in once place...I didn't bother to try to find out. I abandoned the mission.
