No, chickens. Chickens have a hierarchical social structure and base who gets access to food on that hierachy. Thos who get to 'peck first' so to speak and so get their choice of food are "higher up the pecking order." Lionsbane is implying we are all chickens and he's the rooster who screams at the sun every morning for having the temerity to come up.

Geese already have navigation by magnetic orientation and dead reckoning, they don't need satnav.

Lionsbane, I've stayed out of this conversation so far but I have to say, that if I was in GRs shoes you'd be recieving a temporary posting ban at least for your attitude in this thread.

There is no pecking order here, simply two levels, NCSoft employees, and paying customers, anyone who believes that there is a pecking order in this forum beyond that shouldn't on the forum.

I think that the larger group of posters on this forum have the right idea - sorry Lionsbane, but I spend most of my time lurking on the forums rather than posting but this thread has got my dander up! ("Me dander's up, me cone's out!" to any dinnerladies fans out there)
I think that you seem to be forgetting something Lionsbane. Very few games are perfect when they come out, even less have everything that they state they're going to, so yes - a few people may run to the other games as "Oooh! Shiney!" and these games will probably be released in a blaze of publicity. All NCNC have to do is release I13 WHEN IT'S READY, and then wait. People will go to the other games and may say "It looks pretty but there's no gameplay" or "I wanna play Super-duper Man, why do I have to work for Batman? Waaaah!"
Then all CoH has to do is sit back and say - Oh! look over here, a great superhero MMO that's been established for years with great storylines, a fantastic community and YOU'RE the star...
And watch the subs come flooding in...

And Lionsbane if you really do what you claim to do then I'm amazed the phrases 'over diversification' and 'over invesment' haven't occured at any time in you discussion of NC's financial health but then thats just me.
To be honest with the decline of GW and there insistance in following a IMO a somewhat exparimental attitude to new payment methods ( As as far as I now pionered in the East) in the form of NCcoins. The certanty of increased competion in the market, The massive financial invesmant involved in developing this new form of entertainment, The potential for a market explosion as Tech becomes available to more and more people, all mean that this is one very heavily stacked table (to use a poker analogy), Do NC really hold a strong enough hand to win a share of the 'Pot' surely only time will tell.
Oh yes and leave the poor lad alone he's only expressing an opinion and somehow in some strange way I actually found what Dr Toerag said scarily convincing

Wow, we are starting weekend threads on Wednesdays now (although technically the trolling comments didnt really start until Saturday).
So, some more interesting comments from GR (and not the bit about locking the thread, as Im sure that wont come as a surprise to anyone when it happens on Monday) and Im getting even more excited about i13 now. I still dont think the player generated content will be in there, and Im really hoping for lots of SG loving. The rest just feels like birthday present time.
I suspect this forthcoming issue will be that big that itll attract a lot of attention and the subscription numbers will be on the up again. All on the back of a year thats had a lot of superhero stuff in it. Come 2009 when the parts of the other superhero games are starting to coalesce out of etherware CoX will have a far bigger fan base and theyll be in a great position. The announcement of the new (optional) graphics upgrade will also be out just after i14 in the spring so things will be looking very good indeed.
The fact that NCNC didnt give in to all those (okay, three) of you who wanted to know NOW, will be long forgotten and there will be far newer and more interesting Doom to troll about.
