They prey's intentions are of no consequence, when you enter the Zone it warns you that you can be attacked, it says nothing about your own actions.

I'm good with that; most, if not all, non-PvPers seem to be good with it too.
AFAICS Leif and a few others do think we're obliged to do something we don't want to (i.e. fight back), though.

Yeah, what they have to realize is that we are in Zone to Kill the opposite faction, when you enter the Zone you consent to being attacked, how you deal with it is your own choice.
Don't want to be attacked? Then you don't deserve a badge that says I've been in a pvp zone and managed to get this award.

When it becomes obvious that they won't fight back I don't really see the point in continuing to kill them. It offers me nothing personally, unless you get some good banter going and both sides treat it properly.

No, I'm saying that it's unsporting to not at least try to fight back, and I think it's quite reasonable that the people who are there for PvP gets annoyed with you if you don't.
Hi all,
This thread has been generating a lot of reports of inappropriate posts, and I simply haven't had time to look it over so far today.
As such, I've decided to close the thread temporarily until I've had a chance to give it a proper investigation as to whether the reports are warranted or not. Once I've done that, I will reopen the thread; expect that to happen tomorrow morning.
As this is a PvP thread I will likely also move it to the PvP forums.
