Question: Your Seven Favourite Powers
Going to provide my favourite seven from both combined, since most of the powers below are in both.
1. Quick Recovery. No explanation necessary here, does exactly what it says on the tin.
2. Lightning Rod. I <3 my big red rod. so shiny. so powerful.
3. Foot stomp. AoE awesome.
4. Flashfire. An always handy aoe stun, slot it up and watch it rock!
5. Mind Link. A new fave, expensive to slot if you want it perma, but a v powerful buff.
6. Poison gas trap (from the trap set not poison set). Made for procs, yum.
7. And finally...Focus. Spammable, fast activating decent ranged dmg with a knockdown too boot. Love it.
@Jaw Dropper - Toons of all levels so drop me a line!

Nova,
Nova,

Nova,
Dark Regen,
Nova,
Head Splitter.
Think I might have slightly missed the point here but anyway for a laugh
A brief guide to Desert Island Powers or How to 'Robinson Crusoe' succsefully
Ranged shot- This is a must if you want to eat properly IMO
Nova- top mosquito repelent, take it, slot it, love it
Bone smasher- a useful butchery tool, Monkey stew anyone?
Gun drone-Just in case the US discover your hideaway is Oil rich
Bonfire-Kinda a must have for me
Flash freeze- For quick freezing of food, keeps the flavour in better than most other things
Phantom army- for those nights when your lonely and you want to amuse yourself with your imaginary mates and go crab stomping.
Thunderous Blast-fishing was never so easy
Force bubble- better known as shark repelant, going for a dip just wouldn't be the same without
Snow storm- To power your walk in freezer, Kinda End hungry but worth it
Eagles claw- Some people love it some people hate it but for me there is no better protection from them pesky Gorillas, I've one shotted +8 Silver back bosses with this, properly slotted of course
Resist Elements-Mother nature can be a fierce enemy, don't take this one an everyone will think you are a total n00b sorry.
Dull pain-great for when you stub you toe a must have IMHO
Instant healing-does what it says on the tin (I hope)
Blazing Aura-Altenate Mosquito repelant don't like it myself has a nasty tendency to singe everything
Heightened Senses- Staying on the ball is ever important if you miss out on this then you'll be missing a lot of the real 'Robinson Cruosing' experience, hardcore players have been known to use this power all night so the irritating insect noise fills there 'Madness' bar quicker, this is definetly not adviced for the less experienced, in fact if your new to the whole 'Madness' bar thing I'd just forget about it for now let it do it's thing, it takes a fair amount of experience to safely influnce it in any real way, and the number of n00bs who've just run into a group of red conned gorillas trying to hug them all thinking they where back home having a tearful reunion with there family is frankly just horrific. *mini rant* The devs IMHO need to take a serious look at madness it is so seriuosly gimped that it's unbelievable. Just my 0.02 inf worth though. */mini rant*
Chop- a good solid tool for your woodsmans duties. Another must have if you are at all serious.
Inferno- A bit of a luxury this one take it if you can fit it into your build, Can also be used as an alternative to Nove but has same problems as blazing aura in that respect, but if you can squeeze it in the Kentuky Fried Seagull is to die for!
Remember Slotting is all important I won't assume to go into the in and outs here but proper slotting especially invention sets can seriosly effect your ability to 'Robinson Crusoe' properly
All power pools are kinda optional but be careful Travel powers are considered anathema to any serious 'Robinson Cruesoer' if you get spotted with one in your build you could be in for some pretty heavy derision, you have been warned, hardcore 'Robinson Cruosers' take it all very seriously you know..
Telekinesis - Lovely tinkerly-winkerly bionic sound with the added delight of hearing opponents exclaim "What the %&$£ ???"
Stalagtites - Footstomp,BOoOM!. Delicious.
Telekinetic Blast - six slot it for experimentation and 'talk to the hand' blast them the length of a football field in glorious ragdoll physics.
Crane-Kick-: like TK Blast or Tk Thrust, the trick is to get the killing blow under crane kick. Nice off the edge of a skyscraper.
Poison Bomb: Up-chuck city - nothing quite like making your opponent turn inside out while simultaneously ruining their costume. Bleeeuurgh!!!
Proton-Volley Up there as one of the coolest sfx in CoH, [i]"Hey!-hold on a minute...What was THAT sound?" <--- usually what you get on a team member hearing it for the very first time.
Nova All varieties: what more can you say? - BaDoOoOM !!!
I was going to pick a power from each of my 50's, then I realised I had 8 plus some of them I couldn't pick one stand out power from, and others I couldn't pick any stand out powers from.
In no particular order:
1. Eagles Claw, from my MA/Regen. The ultimate chopsocky attack.
2. Fearsome Stare +
3. Tenebrous Tentacles both from my Dark/Dark. I find it hard thinking of these, along with Nightfall, as anything other than one attack, having used them for 30 levels as my opening salvo.
4. Fluffy again from D3. I can't bring myself to call him Dark Servant. The support to my support.
5. Energy Transfer from my Nrg/Nrg brute. It used to be my ultimate attack, I'd end up doing more damage to myself than the mobs were by using hasten to spam it as much as I could. It's only downside was a damp squib animation which was recently buffed.
6. Ripper from my Spines/WP. I just love the animation.
7. Seeds of Confusion from my Plant/Rad. Only got to lvl16 so far but this power is already becoming one of my firm favourites.
1: Midnight Grasp - Because Tentacle Molestation is fun, and a suitable punishment for many forms of criminal behaviour. Add in Critical for extra fun.
2: Propel - You can quip so many things to yourself as you launch various objects at high speeds.
3: Eclipse - Purple Fortress Mode. 'nuff said.
4: Explosive Arrow - Find a low level mob, launch arrow, watch them flyyyyy!
5: Any of the Disembowling, Eviscerating, Head-breaking moves. - Reasonable force be damned, you're going to dish out some mortal justice.
6: Dual Wield - Bang bang, she shot me down...
7: Thunderous Blast - Energy conservation, screw that! Someone's gonna fry!
1- Fly
2- Confuse
3- Domination
4- Power Sink
5- Indominatable Will
6- Psionic Lance
7- Hurl/Hurl Boulder
As all power sets include 9 powers here's 2 addition to make my set.
8- Scream
9- Lightning Storm
Stuck on a Desert Island?
How come no one's mentioned Sands of Mu?
*hands out Wet Haddock temp powers to everyone who winces at that pun*
The wisdom of Shadowe: Ghostraptor: The Shadowe is wise ...; FFM: Shadowe is no longer wise. ; Techbot_Alpha: Also, what Shadowe said. It seems he is still somewhat wise ; Bull Throttle: Shadowe was unwise in this instance...; Rock_Powerfist: in this instance Shadowe is wise.; Techbot_Alpha: Shadowe is very wise *nods*; Zortel: *Quotable line about Shadowe being wise goes here.*
Sunless Mire
Phantom Army
Freezing rain
Eclipse
EMP
Elude
Crane Kick
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!
Ooo I like Alphanes thinking. Hmmm lets see if we can get it down to just 7 powers for survival on a Desert Island...
1. Psi Lance - No need for arrows, setting stuff on fire or sending it flying, just a simple thought missile to knock stuff out of trees!
2. Flares - To let others know where you are, also usefull for starting up a fire.
3. PFF - for when the rain starts to fall, or you fancy doing some diving
4. Ice Bolt - Easy way to get nice cool drinks
5. Hover - Then you can get all the good fruit from the trees
6. Instant Healing - Might get infections otherwise!
7. Chop - For getting through the undergrowth, and coconuts
Not all my favourite powers perhaps, but certainly my currently favourite combination of 7 powers:
1. Omega Maneuver
2. Wide Area Web Grenade
3. Venom Grenade
4. Heavy Burst
5. Full Auto
6. Bayonet
7. Pummel

@Jay Leon Hart
Kerensky: this has nothing to do with underwear
Zwillinger: I put on my robe and wizard hat...
Synapse: I had to resist starting my last post off with "Yo dawg!"
I was listening to Desert Island Discs on Radio Four this morning (yeah, I know, dont tell the young uns) and thought this might make a good Aerie style question.
So, if you had to choose, which seven powers would you keep (or take on to a desert island, presuming the desert island had access to the game servers, and in keeping with the radio program, no access to any other part of the internet, oh, and also presuming that other people could still play the game, oh, you get the idea)? And lets presume, for the sake of the question, that in this magical world those seven powers would work together, say, because power proliferation was across all the ATs. (This is not really about PP, just your seven fav powers, but I know there are pedants hiding with the trolls in the bushes. )
Seven powers from Heroes and seven from Villains.
Would you have them because they look good, because they combo well, because they do l33t damage or just because you like them for no explicable reason?
