I wasn't aware Virgin did ADSL, I thought that was BT? Anyway, just to clarify further, I'm also on Cable.
To break it down a little more:
Virgin Media, cable, South West region. No problems.
The wisdom of Shadowe: Ghostraptor: The Shadowe is wise ...; FFM: Shadowe is no longer wise. ; Techbot_Alpha: Also, what Shadowe said. It seems he is still somewhat wise ; Bull Throttle: Shadowe was unwise in this instance...; Rock_Powerfist: in this instance Shadowe is wise.; Techbot_Alpha: Shadowe is very wise *nods*; Zortel: *Quotable line about Shadowe being wise goes here.*
Likewise Virgin Media, Cable, North West Region, Problems before but resolved internally.

Been reporting this issue on and off since i7.
Found it on test (i12) didn't report because I had always been told it was due to my ISP/Connection (Zen and WiFi Mesh).
Happens to some characters badly as in every time I zone, other characters on same account don't get it at all.
Spoke to tech support who eventually said they had changed something on my accounts... and the problem is much less now than it was immediately after i12 release, however it still exists.
My thought is it is a software issue that in rare circumstances for some people causes the issue, it is compounded by set-ups/latency/routes to server etc. And the software issue is server side, it will be difficult to track down an exact cause because the devs only trouble shoot from within house, so they are not going to have the same set-ups/latency/routes to server that we do.

Now if only they made the game client to auto-detect when it's out of sync instead of waiting for the player to guess it (a guess that usually comes way too late and leads to embarrassing results...), it will be cooler!

The team is not going to assume this is a final fix and stop working on the desync bug. The re-sync command is not considered to be a final fix: it's a workaround for those affected while a more permanent fix is sought. I'm very hopeful that the desync bug will soon be a thing of the past for everyone in the near future, and that the command will not be needed for more than a month or two.

Of course, I was the one originally suggesting such a command, but I don't care who gets the credit as long as they're actually doing something about this. Right now I'm almost jumping up'n'down. I'm so happy! (Mostly actually have to do with all the QoL things added to I12, but...)
I know poor Smurfnof will be rather happy to hear this, since he's been constalntly out of body since I12 hit live! Yes, truly constantly, it's a joke that's not funny anymore really!

Hopefully, as GR say, trying to fix the problem has bigger priority than building that command...
The need to get this sorted ASAP.
I see others have this problem, it's good to know it is being worked on.
It really sucks, I have a level 38 character I really enjoy but it is perma-stuck in the bug so I can't play it at all until it is fixed, I hope it will be soon!
Although it is very common, not many people reporting it doesn't help, as it is not escalating as a widespread problem and also support have not enough data about it so they work almost blindly to fix it.
I am sure that after they implement that command, you will find out how awkward will be to use it and you will also demand to fix the actual bug...

The command is being implemented to assist people and is NOT the solution to the issue, merely a temporary workaround. GR has already posted that they hope it won't be needed for more than a month or so.

Steps:
0) /bind u "stuck" (one off thing)
Then...
1) Enter mission.
2a) Press "u". Done.
or
2b) Forget to press "u"...go in to map, and find you're disconnected.
3b) Press "u". Done.
Compared to what MMs need to do to summon pets, or Defenders/Controllers/Corruptors to apply team buffs, this isn't looking very awkward to me.
I am talking about the time distance between (2b) and (3b).
I expect this to happen a lot...
