lol well what i said on my previous thread still stands i do genuinely think they should bring more into pocket D much more than just ahving arena consoles there... and with regard to the "joke" theres an old saying dont throw bricks into glass houses (which i am by no means saying nastiness is acceptable because it isnt!!! *hug stasis*) anyway nice joke and i agree there wasnt any actual thread or announcement made so i guess i just picked up on what was being said in arena and elsewhere... its a bit like chinese wispers... it gets moved around so much that it looes all of its original meaning..

The people involved know who they are (at least, they do if they have a sense of decency), and so the comment does its job.

I've killed players in zones and been told "hey we were dancing" so something like this isnt all that far fetched (indeed, they were dancing, all standing around with the boombox and dance emotes going). I can remember at least one person involved saying something like "to everyone who believed it you are all so gullable". Arguably true, but not exactly doing themselves any favours by saying that.

In the defence of many people, and my own, who followed this: I've never even been aware of the massive rift between PvPers and RPers - the closest I've come to any information on it is hearing Xanthus and Spawnus muck around on TS with their anti-RP remarks, but they're all in jest anyway. I had no idea until today that PvPers hated RPers so much.
By the way, is it the same for the opposite?
Personally, PvP and RP are thoroughly enjoyable for me, I've even mixed the two and boy, that was lots of fun.
The claim that a PvP zone would be taken over by RPers for one night only was so outlandish that none of us thought, for a second, that anyone would believe it. To be told afterwards that it was all the RPers fault, and the joke instigators, for starting it and causing an even greater rift, was jaw-dropping.
No one meant to start a fight. We were ignorant, and we're all sorry - very sorry - but we can hardly be blaimed, surely?

Duels are treated with variations of distaste, indifference and a few sychopants and otherwise advocates from my experiences.
It'd be part of the idea/concept/rule that the PvP zone "is for free-rolling constant PvP" etc etc etc and if that concept risked being "trampled on" by some force then some people would react of course, albeit others extremely.

Given that I've been told tonight that RP'ers can just be stuffed into a small corner in one of the hazard zones and there's a group of players waiting to grief any RP'er they can, (One player got hassled for actually daring to have a background) I'd say that, as PvP/RP'ers; there's a cosm there that makes me very uncomfortable to continue playing.

To those asking why I brought this up in the first place, I felt that the original joke had snowballed out of control and left some very ugly marks behind it. Perhaps I was a little out of order, but some of the provocation received makes me very hurt and angry; for what was; to all intents and purposes, a very different fish to what we started with.

Nope, many of us who pvp are fed up with people who mince around the zones doing anything but pvp. IMO the best way to deal with people who abuse the zones in this way is a swift kick up the rear end. As for my night being ruined, that refers to the disappointment of supposedly not getting to play along with some of the vile comments directed at PVPers. Those feelings dont just evaporate instantly, and become exacerbated when some of those responsible want to rub it in over arena chat then wonder why people get upset at them.

Maybe not, I've seen so many eejits monopolise the zone for there own enjoyment (like the boombox morons in my last post) that nothing would surprise me now. When claims that "the pvp flags are getting turned off at 7" got threw up, it certaily started to smell fishy in a big way.

Yes, before anyone carries my words any further I meant that there seems to be a higher percentage of those jackasses who flame over tells and channels than on defiant. I'd fathom most of them don't even post here at the forums. I did not direct this statement specifically at RPers or those PVPers that I know personally.

It is, very silly. As I've said, I'm neither a fully-fledged PvPer or a hardcore RPer - I enjoy both, and to find out that there are a small group of one or the other who hate the other group is mind-boggling.
