Your Greatest Scrapper Moment
Watching 7 members of my team running out of the door or dying during a very bad pull in a crey mish. My inability to run away kicks in and I start jumping about like a mad man clearing the room with a bunch of dead heroes cheering me on. Then realising after, it would have been alot easier if I had turned IH on at the start.
Having a competition with a fire tank to see who could pick up the most debuffs in one go, its great fun watching them scroll across the screen. He won in the end by about half a rows worth
Soloing every mission untill recently, then hitting "r" before i hit "enter" and ended up running into a group and agroing them, the rest of my team flipped and went "RUN!" but I managed to toggle on DS, popped a few reds and yellows, hit my "buildup" and took them out. Was close, but I learned not to hit "r" anytime soon.
On Kuroshi (Claws/SR):
Tanking every AV/GM from 40 onwards (before the defence changes, nerf-style) and only taking a fall to Siege after he landed a couple of big-hitters through Elude. I did use to routinely get whipped by Malta and Nemesis though.
Beating the tar out of a +4 Shadow Cyst Crystal after everyone else in the 8-man PuG had planted and my mentor thought it was an awesome idea to go to hospital halfway through the fight... I ended up beating the damn thing, but the ensuing explosions proved a little too much for my defences to handle.
Chasing a heavily injured Knight Stalker (on his Stalker) through Warburg in a pack of 4 heroes, just in time to see him nip back into the villain base. 2 of the chase group dropped off, 1 Regen got pounded by the Arachnos mobs, and I screeched passed KS in front of the Flier, fired off Focus, and watched as his HP and Endurance both flashed to 0, before taking off on a victory lap around the base.
Taking on a Stone Brute just outside a mission door, also in Warburg. He threw a few fruitless attacks at me (miss, miss, miss), gave up 'fighting', and instead chose to stand in Granite, and /em newspaper at me (lol Claws); stacking Follow Up and cycling my main attacks, I slowly whittled his HP down to below a quarter - he fired off Earth's Embrace, then went back to /em newspaper. Undeterred, I kept at him with the same methodology, taking him down to about 1/10th his HP before he started getting worried, dropped out of granite and started TPing away; I popped a small red, and managed to Crit with Eviscerate just before the TP animation fired off... end result, one ex-Brute. Just think, if only he'd had Rooted on.

Hi all,
I'm gonna have to say my greatest Scrapper moment so far was at about level 25 on an 8-man team attempting to take out a room full, and I do mean full of Tsoo mostly +2's with the odd boss thrown in. The Tank, having charged headfirst into the room without checking if we were ready, ran back to the group with about 20/30 of them in tow. In short order, the Tank, all three Blasters, two Controllers and the Defender were all checking out the carpets they had had installed in the base, and I was left on my lonesome...
To the hysterical shouts of Run! Run! Run! which were being called like it was going out of fashion, I drew my katana and waded in...
As I began battering the bad guys, I turned DP on and started using some insps to keep myself upright, as the rest of the team realised what was going on, they started chucking me spares as my health got low and telling me I was single handedly paying off their debt... Class!
It truely was an experience hearing the awe in their voices as they watched me mow the Tsoo down "OMG, He's invincible!" That kind of thing... Ahhh the heady nostalgia takes over...
And when they were cleared, in keeping with the laid-back attitude of the true Scrapper, I say "And that is how you do that friends and team-mates "
Regen is ace, ain't it?
I was running my pre I8 BS/regen scrapper against Nemesis with two other SG mates. We enetered a room with about twenty of te nasties in there plus a few jaegers. My friends faceplanted very quickly, but i hit IH and cleaned half of the room (this was before i leanred that killing anyone above minion level in the nemmy army buffs the leftovers) . when my Sgers had hosp'd and come back, they tp-rezzed me and we went back in. they planted again and i finished off the remaining mobs, with my health flashing red. all of this while being battered by "RUN!" etc. it was fun
I love this thread!
I love those kinda moments you're all describing, i got a few of them with my tank on its way to 50 but thanks to this 1 thread I cant wait to start playing my scrapper as a main.
Got me really looking forward to it, thx guys
Have had some awesome moments with Regen and Inv. With my Regen I can remember a COT mish which the 8 man team entered a huge room which had two blind spots. We run in with the Tank and rumbled 3 groups. The other scrappers had fired Elude and Unstoppable when we relised the scale of the job. I had hit DP and IH. The debuffs being dished out were such that Integration began to break down and i was gradually slowed. We cleared a huge number of mobs but systematically the team was overwhelmed. Too many too fast. The 3 scrappers were left and as my health dived into the red and as integration gave up i hit MOG. The remaining two scrappers health gradually dipped and faded as they tried to exit before the tier 9 crashes. I was left to fight solo and with my last yellow and red managed to take out the death mages and then mop up the minions. Made me realise how effective debuffers are and just how amazing the regen set is.
Back when my MA/SR Scrapper Alex Reed still existed, he had an In Character team with the supergroup known as The Vigil. I just always remember one fight in Orenbega, when Alex lept over the group of CoT that his teammates were engaging to keep the Death Mage pinned away from the group so his -acc aura wouldn't come into play.
Now though, my only scrappers are a low level Claws/SR and MA/Regen. Maybe once they're higher leveled can I get some real stories on them.
Another great scrapper moment for myself. (although an unusual one) was my first ever encounter with a stalker. wandering about in Bloody bay wondering what that scientist was on about.. meteor or something. quite happily staring at this green badguy whos skeleton i could see through their skin, when WHACK two hits and im all but dead. HOLY MOTHER JEHOSEFAT, i thought. what in hades was that??
Many would think that soured my opinion of stalkers but no. Two things happened. 1) i bought COV. 2) i spent the nex three days trying to figure out how to kill this invisible death bringer, or at least survive long enough to see where he went to.
I will always remember that moment because now all the scrappers i build now, i have one thing in mind, can i see them before its too late, can i survive if i dont. and can i kill them if i do.
I've had too many "wowzer" moments with Mael to count... but one of the ones that'll have to rank up there was in my early 40s in Kings Row, in i6.
Basically I managed to solo Paladin as a Kat/Regen, without Tough or MoG, no shivans (they were still level 25) and without faceplanting once. I think that's the closest one-on-one fight Mael's ever been in, was touch-and-go about 8 times over the 15 mins it took to whittle him down.
Soloing Eochai and the Kraken would also rank fairly high, but I died at least once during those fights and needed to hospital or hit revive to gradually whittle them down.
In a team? Too many to choose from... that Creys mission with only Paragon Protectors, 6-man team and rest of team planted in the "room of death"... Carnies mission and the (INV) tank refuses to tank the mobs or even just take the alpha strikes... the "10 minute glowie hunt" mission when the rest of the team starts panicing because "we'll never clear that mob in front of the last glowie in time!!"...
I love IH, Dull Pain, Reconstruction, Quick Recovery and Divine Avalanche!!
----------------------
My worst solo experience has to be my very first attempt at a Preatorian Elite Boss. Usually Maelwys soloed on Invincible but I had turned it down to rugged because I didn't fancy an AV... I breeze through the mission and get to the last room. Then I realise that my target (Infernal) is a +5 EB... I was level 43, he was level 48.
Now I can handle a +5 Boss no problem, I could probably even survive a normal mission against +5s rather than the +2s/+3s that Invincible throws at you... but here we had a +5 EB. And not only that, but it was INFERNAL- possibly the most damaging EB in the hero side game. I checked this out online, apparently Preatorian EB/AVs will never spawn below level 48, it's a known game "feature".
Right. In typical scrapper fashion... I hit IH and leap in to clear the surrounding mobs, hitting Dull Pain when I get below 50% and spamming Divine Avalanche for all I'm worth. That's when I realise that Infernal likes to use a few ranged attacks even when you're in "melee range"... against which Divine Avalanche is less useful than a Chocolate Teapot: Faceplant.
Rush back from Hospital- 2nd attempt, with 8 +def insps: Faceplant.
Rush back from Hospital- 3rd attempt, with 12 +def insps: Faceplant.
Well you can't say that scrappers aren't persistent.
EVENTUALLY, I decided that there were only three ways that I was going to take this guy down.
+ 1: Level up a few times (this was in i6, when shivans were level 25).
+ 2: get a team. (??!? I'm a SCRAPPER, I don't need teams... teams need ME!)
+ 3. Play a war of attrition, and ignore the debt.
I opted for #3... Countless hospital trips later (at least 10), I had whittled Infernal down enough that I finally managed to kill him with a "4-stacked-def-insp + IH" rush. The portal then fell surprisingly easily (this was before the object +HP buff) and I hit level 44 with the end-of-mission exp bonus.
That was the first time Mael ever saw the debt cap.
He had it all cleared by the end of the next mission though... It contained a +4 EB, who couldn't understand what he had done to deserve being turned into a kebab by a frothing-at-the-mouth, katana-wielding dervish. Suffice to say that no hospital trips were needed that mish...
Think my greatest scrapper moment was.. when i was in sirens one night, and there was a stalker getting rather self confident on broadcast saying "you cant kill" me and carrying on etc . . When i had the chance i popped BU and ripper'd him, he then decided he would retreat back into the villains base, at this time i had hit Impale and has he dropped down the other side of the Villain base, i saw a magic word "Critical" and down he went.
For me was when I soloed Anti-Matter 3 times in a row. Once on my own, once with a disbelieving blaster SG mate, and then again with said blaster and a troller SG mate as well. Both the latter times the squishies died leaving me with a mob of robots and a miffed EB. Claws / Regen scrappers. Gotta love 'em.

For me, any time I've used Crane Kick to knock a guy off a building.
That always puts a smile on my face.
had to be pvping, met a stalker, didn't have placate so i guess i was a bit lucky, but was on my dark/dark scrapper, he got me right down before i could select him, (i'm terrible at pvp) Dark Consumption and the heal (forgotten name, srry) later, back up on full health and he was down quick enough just loved the feeling of basically no health back up to full bars
Same for me as stalingrad really. In pvp and met a cocky stalker who thought he could take on a regen scrapper
So i turned on IH, did a bit of the old golden dragonfly followed by soaring dragon n the little scamp was running for the hills with a inch of health left.
Its gotta be taking down 21 even conned nemesis without being hit once. 6 lieuts and 3 warhulks in there, too. OG is a wonderful tool.
Mine was similar to Hallows Eve. I think my Dark/Dark scrapper was around level 12, we were in Frostfire mission and we basically managed to aggro almost the entire room and most of em were red con to me.
The team started going down and very shortly it was just me and our empath defender. Everyone was screaming for us to run. I told the empath to run ( she had rez) while I tried to hold em off as long as I could. Well instead of that she kept healing me, I kept the aggro and they just kept on coming. It took something like 5 minutes for the 2 of us to clear that crowd and by the end, the shouts of "Run" had changed to "Let em have it!" and "Go on guys, take him out!"
Edge of the seat stuff and great fun!
My greatest scrapper moment would have to be on a freakshow missions where there was a bank raid. I was totally solo; was a tough fight to get to the vault, but once I did, I had 2 tank swipers, about 3 leuitenants and well over 1/2 a dozen minions surrounding me (thanks alot invincibility ). Was a constant chain of Build up, Golden Dragonfly the boss, The Lotus Drops, and Flashing Steel for good measure. Was AoE madness; shortly into the mega-scrap dull pain was activated and the final push to try and out-scrap them before they out-scrapped me was on! many attacks i managed to dodge or moderately soak up; the minions were dropping fairly quickly from the brunt of the AoE's thankfully, and the bosses were recieving plenty of knocking from my other moves. The fight was nearly over, 1 leuitenant remaining; I was almost out of hitpoints, was a straight duel; a vicious swipe got me down to next to nothing health, but i prevailed with a precise Golden Dragonfly, and around me laid all the freaks that I had just managed to defeat. Not as great as some of the stories on here, but at the time it felt great, to slug it out against quite harsh odds. (That and it's not too often I see daylight after scrapping like that with a squishy )
On my regen scrapper my best moment is in WB i went through seven ganks and survived them all btw i dont have MoG
Let's see:
Tanking Infernal several times while the rest of the team picked themselves up.
Discovering that I had a puple Rikti Boss of somekind to defeat to clear a mission, and then winning.
Getting really irritated when I wasn't getting any help in the Terra Volta reactor, only to discover that everyone else had been dead for a while, my radition shield had given up ages ago, and I was still squashing Freaskshow. Then the reactor blew up, but hey, you can't win them all.

Regen so uber that you can heal from a reactor detonation. Thats why I like scrappers.
Greatest moment for me was on Damia, at level 42, SK'd up to face level 50 carnies. My mentor disconnected. Everything went purple. I hit focussed accuracy, and kept on swinging. Didn't do much damage, but I was hitting, and they STILL couldn't take me down.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
My greatest scrapper moment has to be at Nightmarer lvl 37 when doing a CoT mish in Cot Temple map, we entered a room with some kind of pond and CoT coming to us from centre and all 4 corners. The blaster, the troller and the other scrapper went down pretty quickly because we were swarmed, luckily I had Evasion well slotted so I started taking them down one by one until room was clear of Earth Torn Casters, Behemoths Overlords, Nerva Demons and a couple Agony Mages. It was great when one of my temmates used his wakie and said: "man, they were your beetches"
Every time Headsplitter crits.
