Things that make people leave PVP (social side)

I agree with Gonk on all accounts. Basesnatching, when Ive seen it used, has always been used by the side who was already overpowering the opposition..

And I hate the tactical start in RV..

with the new i7 tactical start coming and the not being able to rest in the hospital, do people not think that base snatching will get worse

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm pretty sure that Bridger said somewhere this was no longer going to happen?

They were having big problems on the test server in the US where heroes wouldn't leave their base, forcing villains to base camp. The reason behind this? Blasters would deliberately die then come running out of hospital with 'Defiance' maxed out and tear through the villains.

There was also an issue with empaths just camping the hospitals and spam healing while AFK to easily get the heal badges.

Personally, I hope they do keep it as my first port of call after I7 will be sirens for our SG's final heal badge

Then we basically aggre on that teledroning when it's not due to base snatching is low

Unfortunately im a flier with forcefields, good luck with that :P

But i'd even go further. I think drones should disappear, too.

Urgh, I still dont think thats a very good idea at all.

Base-snatching and droning both have their places within PVP. Neither one is inherantly a lame tactic, its just down to how the individual uses it, the same way that a certain PBAoE toggle in the storm summoning set is seen as a cheap power. Its down to how you use it. If you're fighting outside the base, and every time one of your opponents gets below half health, he runs back into his base? Perfect time for a basesnatch. Completely overwhelmed in numbers at the base, or being followed by a stalker that you just cant seem to hit? Try for a droning whilst you get back in the field. Each person who has teleport, has the ability to use it wisely, or the ability to throw it around and do little more than annoy. Provided I make sure I dont abuse it, I dont really care what people think, im not going to sit and listen to abuse in the field on an opinion built on a double-standard. I have to agree, some things do go beyond "Alls fair in love and war", but just fighting back isnt exactly a taboo.

if i am constantly done over by any lame tactic repeatedly please expect me to get completely bored and see things as though i am not there to get someones pvp rating up without some fun i will leave the zone.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

On TP foe, there's a reason my stalker is EA

The trouble with TP foe is that some people see it as lame and boring. They should be seeing it as them being lame and stupid.

Fair enough, we all get caught out odd times, but if it happens over and over again, then you must see yourself as someone who doesn't learn from a bad experience and quite dumb too.

I've never teledroned on live, but I've done it in two specific instances in the Recluse's Victory test event. Both of these occassions were massive gank squads of villains sat right outside the hero base, mainly comprised of stalker after stalker. When it became apparent that the heroes could not break through, I droned a good amount of stalkers to even the situation out a little.
The solution to this for the side getting teledroned is very simple indeed - break your lock on the other team's base. They can't teledrone you if you're not sat in a massive team right outside their gates.

I probably wouldn't teledrone anybody on live though. I don't want to give anyone debt, even if they are playing in a way that sucks all the enjoyment out of the zone. The same applies to knocking people into mobs, etc.

I think there are wider issues than droning, though. The first of these is stalkers - when too many enter a zone, it becomes dull and repetitive for all those not playing a scrapper. I can't count the number of times I've been one-shotted by AS, then I've left the hospital and it's happened again, and again, and again... that might be fun for the stalker responsible, but it sure is boring for me. The second of these is the people who spend all their time chasing the squishies. In particular, I have massive problems with one particular brute, who only ever goes for the squishies. Even in a large team, it's still a problem, because they wait until the rest of the team is occupied with others before running in and slaughtering all the blasters, controllers and defenders. The third issue is a very specific one - it's the towers right outside the hero base in Siren's Call. The brute I was talking about earlier makes a habit of occupying one of those towers which is just out of range for most powers. The brute stands in the small door area of the tower, which is the only way to exit it. They then teleport controllers/defenders (those who lack knockback fields) into the tower, and the troller/fender is unable to escape and is quickly pulped. They do this again and again.

About 80% of the PvP population is great, and I enjoy playing with them. They realise that it's a game. They realise that both sides are supposed to have fun. If the game's heavily tilted to one side, some of them switch sides. However, there's that 20% who are more concerned with their own enjoyment than that of others. They're the ones that gank, the ones that hunt only the easy kills, the ones who only ever AS and run - they just make the PvP zones boring and dull for those of us who aren't playing specific PvP builds.

You dont get debt for for drone deaths. Also, wasnt there something said by the devs about TPing into towers?

Droning doesnt give debt at all, it was removed shortly after PVP went live

Heh, I admit that i've teleported someone into that tower ages ago as a joke. Was funny for a moment, but then I teleported him back out. Thing is, this has been covered by the devs and is classed as griefing, hands down, as there is no way for non-TP characters to get out, without a teammate with recall friend. Petition the bugger the next time it happens, the GM's will set him straight. Though on a funnier note, I do recall someone being the victim of that tactic one time, only with a little twist. The teleporter got himself into the tower, and proceeded to TP Foe squishies into there with him, so he could have easy kills at melee range. Well, he made a bad choice and picked someone with a knockback aura, who turned it on, and mostly brawled 'em to death. Of course, when the guy came back to the tower to try again, the squishy TP'ed him in, instead, and did this until the brute (I think) started to have a tantrum and threatened to petition him for griefing. xD

Double standards, they make Cthulhu cry.

If I ever see anyone griefing like that i'll gank them like mad.
