Best 2ndary for MA
PvE or PvP?
PvE - DA
PvP - Regen or SR
A Paragon Defender
In general, Regen is superior to SR, IMO. Others may argue that elude balances out SR, but I still think Regen wins it. There's a certain charm to always being at full health and end.
Thanks guys, yeah, it's for PvE, but I didn't fancy Dark Armour, as i've been there before with brutes, wanted a change ;-)
I thought I'd read that Regen was generally a bit better, so I'll prob go for that, then ;-)
Thanks again.
Regen has Integration-aura which isn't subtle at all. I decided to skip my aura at level 30 because of it. (Still did the mission so I'm prepared when Integration becomes a clicky.)
Regen is the best, no matter what primary

Are you sure? My regen is far tougher than my DA in PvE.

Well, DA gets some AoE damage but there's not enough in Martial Arts to compliment it, IMO. Regen is by far the best choice.

Generally speaking DA offers more control and MA is the set with most control, so I really see alot of synergy between the two sets. Stuns and Oppressive Gloom seems nice for stacking. MA is also not that end heavy which is also a plus combining it with DA.
If this set isnt better than regen its because DA in it self is gimped, that simple cause no other set has better synergy with DA. Perhaps except spines for an AoE build, but this build is quite end heavy.
50s
controllers: Ill rad , grav rad, fire kin, ice kin

What and deprive us of regen's only end sapping toggle?!?!
In answer to the OP Regen is good (but I would say that having a regen scrapper as my main).
Super Reflexes is good although I'm not sure how it will turn out with all the talk about apparent changes to defence that I7 is bring.
Invulnerability might be worth considering. I haven't tried it myself and nobody seems to have mentioned it yet.
There's othing particularly special about MA that makes it synergise better with one secondary than another so just choose whichever you like the sound of.

Super Reflexes is in for a big time buff in issue 7 - at least when fighting foes above your level (and lets face it we normally do). Given that Ice Armour and SR were both given buffs (?issue6) to try and compensate for defences weakness (ie do badly against boss,lt,high level), I suspect both will be slightly overpowered in issue 7.
And lets face it, if regen has got a big target saying "nerf me" then it should have

Ok, so just to make sure SR, Ice Armor and Regen all get nerfed, u posted this 3 times? :P
I await the day that SR is overpowered in PvE, I've heard it was back before I had an SR, so I need history repeating itself or a time machine.
The benefits from I7 dont look to be massive, but they do look to take away some of the weakness inherent in the set
"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"
Before you had an SR, it was weaker then it will ever be again (thinking about I1ish days now), then it changed to a horribly powerfull set due to perma-elude, but this was in a day of many perma-powers making many ATs overpowered. It's seen both extremes, and if it gets "overpowered" it won't be nearly as drastic as perma-elude.

Seems to be getting a bit of loving and hating in I7:
Reduced the effectiveness of Super Reflexes defense to AoE attacks (stalker and scrapper). With I6, Super Reflexes was given a very high bonus to AoE attacks in order to make it more effective against bosses and Arch Villains, since they typically use AoE powers, but with the new To Hit calculations, this is no longer necessary.
Super Reflexes Passive Defense abilities have been increased in effectiveness by 1/3rd.
Regen's probably the better choice out of all sets.
SR's more fun though IMO
Regen is an easy set to use, expect to have to get all the regen powers up to revive and MoG, which some people like and some don't. Just remember that with regen you'll get hit by everything so don't bother with +DEF powers like combat jumping as they won't help at all.
SR is also very useful against Psionic attacks.
Actually any defense (or resistance) is wonderful for Regen. It has a sort of multiplicative effect, because even a short time spent not being hit is adding to the HP pool you have at your disposal during the fight. Combat Jumping has too little defense to be very noticeable by itself, and I wouldn't go out of my way to get any of the defense pool powers, but it's IMO well worth it to take and use CJ if you're going for Leaping pool.
Going to create a MA/xx scrapper in the next couple of days, and wondering which is more suitable, SR or Regen? Also would prefer to avoid any ugly auras etc ;-)
Thanks for any info guys
