Fair play?
I think ya got bags of support here mate, after reading your post see nothing wrong with your tactics, infact I have an energy/energy brute and I think I may nick a couple of your tactics. many muppets in PvP it just gives me more reason to hunt em down.

My view of this is that deliberately taking out spectators when they are trying to watch a fight is a very bad thing and the people who find this amusing do have something wrong with them. Really, they are the sort of people I would avoid teaming with as it shows they have no consideration for others.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is where you are wrong. Its actually the spectators that have no consideration of the rest putting a whole zone to a full stop because "WE ARE DUELLING CANT U SEE U IDIOT/N00b/MORON" etc etc. Announcing a duel doesnt oblige anyone especially when there is a whole arena system. You wanna duel fine duel.I never touch any of the people duelling usually i dont touch spectators also. But when i see someone hurl abuse cause he was touched i go and start sniping because 10 people form a fight club putting the rest of the casual players to a full stop in a whole zone
[ QUOTE ]
That said, It is not always clear people are spectating and you have to accept there is a risk involved. If someone kills me while spectating, I just inform them I'm watching a fight and ask them to leave me. Only if they then come back and kill me again does it annoy me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats different. If someone gets killed and asks politely that he spectates which i obv couldnt have known i will even apologise and go away.

Damn that kid in the video was scary but anyhooo...
I've sat back and watched fights myself before but I still do a regular spin around to keep an eye open, just because I've said I'm not going to attack the duelists doesn't mean I'm suddenly immune to attack from others. If you enter an open PvP zone you have to accept you can be attacked without warning, tag-teamed, picked off when weak from another fight, etc...
If you're not willing to accept this head off to the arena and stop complaining, leave those who are willing to take those risks to enjoy ourselves.

Hehe, to echo the sentiment, absolutely nothing wrong with your tactics wilf.
Here's one for discussion - today in siren's there was a little scrapper who repeatedly bolted inside the hospital when the wife got him down to 10% health. As she was one of only 3 villains against 8-10 heroes, and was quite happily scrapping against all of them, (and spending a lot of time travelling back from the hospital..) it was a touch unsporting not to repay the spirit of the fight by taking the chance and going for the win himself.
So, he went straight onto her hitlist, and got sent to the hospital 3 or 4 times in short succession - and when he ran for the hospital the last time, she followed with hyper phase on and danced at him. The tone of the zone was lovely and friendly, with lots of kills exchanging hands, so why do some people worry about dying so much?

Great question.
Im happy to leave the zone with 3 bars of debt.
Instinct? Laziness?
My gut reaction when my health drops is to leg it back towards my own lines. Even if I'm right at the other side of the zone, I will run as hard and fast as I can to safety then turn and head back as soon as any pursuit has gone.
I often ask myself why I would make two trips across the zone to escape the death, then get back to the action once it's over, when I could simply let him kill me and only make the trip back from hospital. Still doesn't stop the 'fight or flee' mentality kicking in though.
Yup I agree. Getting away from a large team of villains is one of the most fun things in PvP for me, esp using a squishy.
Its just that some people have an actual real dislike of getting killed which i dont understand.
Saw you fighting in Warburg the other day Mr Wuffles - and by saw I mean got pounded by you! I was there watching a few duels and was entirely my own fault I was sitting in the open with all my protections off!
I'd run from you anyway at the best of times - darn EA Bruets being able to ignroe my Force Bubble
Your tactics seem fine to me - not generic for a Brute, and more Stalker-esque but no less valid for it!
Got pounded by Just about every time I got close I got blasted to shreds heh, needed to pop purples to get near
Just to verify... I don't pick on spectators - I pick on everyone! I'm pretty new to the whole PvP lark so still finding my feet.
Thanks all for restoring my faith - Time to gank me some squishies!
Er... judge? Could we get that last remark stricken from the record

Nothing wrong with your fairness or gameplay, just unfortunate you had sore losers in the zone with you.
I'm back in Siren's at the moment and loving it, some good crowds are in there currently.
Good luck and look forward to crossing swords with you and if i'm afk, watching a 'duel' or tying my shoelaces, attack me.
Try living by this rule : If you are orange, I will attack you.

It's all dumbness about spectators making a fuss.
I was watching the fighting over Sirens, by the guns and the sea and someone nabbed me. So what? All I did was pull the respawn windown a bit lower on the screen and kept watching the fights and chatting over broadcast.
D'uh -_-
I feel sorry for the guy who has made this post. He has gone into PVP to try it out and basically met a bunch of [removed].
If they are being held, so what? I ahve learnt in my short time of PVPing that people use tactics fair or unfair to get kills, so if you can get one, thats touhg on them. You cant always check out if someone is being held by an npc.
As for the second guy who was "standing around watching a fight", well he is the lame one. PVP zones are for PVPing. There is an arena for duels or watching them, so go use it. I really hate folk who moan about being hit when they are having a duel or watching a fight cos thats not what the zone is there for.
Carry on and enjoy yourself, not everyone is like this in PVP and if they are, there is always "ignore".

PvP don't mean to be stupid.
ifyou say clearly that you duel. comming in theduel is not PvP. it's being annoying or stupd or whatever;
i helped tonigh a team of heros at bloody. there were having hard time with the meteorite mission (base destruction part).
i ask them "want help" they say "yes".
i destroy 2 bases defense and help them to finish thelast one. and see them, while i was sitting one the floor and congrtulating them, turning there power one me and kill me.
and after they say, it's a pvp zone.
sorry maybe like the guy who made this post i am a naiv person to think taht fairplay is important but this exemple was not PvP.

yes. why not?
moreover i am a stalker ^^
when it's late and when i am in the mood yes. playing a vilain just mean you prefere the AT or power not that you are a --censored-- ^^
there were 2 defender trying to destroy a base and i know that for defender it's dificult to deals damage quickly forhaving played one myself so..
but i assume that the way i got "rewarded" leads to the fact that such behaviour tends to disappear..

bah you know the next time i will do as everyone do ans will AS the first one and kill the second and wait before the base for they will not be able to complete their mission... hurray.
i though that hte kill on sight map was warburg.
i had a lot of time fair night fght at siren , by fairplay i speak about respect for dueller, if a people say afk and that i find him i don't AS (useless) and if mob are involved both hero and villain solves the prob.
i even was once asked to AS a hero in order to prevent him from detting (by the way afeter the AS i got killed by the mob he was trying to avoid, was nota good plan :/ )
on all other case it is a kill on sight PvP like everybody does.
it's notlike putting some rules in PvP it's more like keeping some rules in order both side enjoy.
just to say that seeing hero stabing in the back someone that help us is not a very heroic way of playing ^^
next time i will not help i think.

Yet its perfectly OK to call people names for playing the game the way its meant to be played. Look, it doesnt matter if your duelling, helping out with meteors, dancing, doing missions, picking your nose or admiring the scenery. Its an open pvp zone, if you want to duel go to the arena.

Reminder.. behaving maliciously is not accepted in pvp zones or anywhere else, be careful with your "calling names"..
To Ken-Titus:
Point is that interrupting a duel is NOT considered 'behaving maliciously', griefing or anything. The PvP zones ARE open PVP zones like marquandDance said. The devs have made this clear numerous times.
I always try to urge people not to duel or 'expect manners' from people in PVP zones while myself I wont interrupt duels if I know there is one going on. Simply because I dont want to [censored] off people.. I will however attack people travelling to missions, patrolling or killing pve mobs because Im expected to. The threat of getting attacked by player is the justification for better rewards in pvp zones after all. Theres no logical reason to leave player enemies alone in the zones..
I guess what Im trying to say is.. even if I may help people in pvp zones or leave duelers alone or whatever, don't expect or demand that others do the same..
I do get annoyed everytime someone claims something like "Dont attack me, I'm/we are just doing *insert_random_activity_here*".
Just another voice in the mix here to say that you did nothing wrong, Wuffles and should keep on keeping on.
The thing that really grates on me at the moment is all the crying in broadcast when people die, even in a fair fight.
"You can't beat me unless it's 2-v-1!"
"That was 6-v-1 you gankers!"
"I only had 10 hit points!"
"I was resting!"
and yesterday, having never seen the excuse before, I twice saw "You can only kill me when I'm running a long animation!"
It's PvP. If you're in the zone, you're a target and you may well be a target for multiple enemies.
I can't turn broadcast off, because some heroes are absolutely worth talking to, but I just hate the endless crying on and on. I understand totally the "I'll get you!" mentality, but it's just so refreshing to meet people who die in the "right" spirit.
I'd rather people [broke the EULA and] swore at me and told me how they were going to render me into minced meat than generated reason number one million about how their death wasn't fair.
I agree with you 100%, the only reason to go to PvP zones is to kill and avoid being killed, however you achieve this does not matter unless you are cheating!!! I always run in hard and fast and then move like [removed] to avoid faceplanting.
Most of the time I am in these zones is to collect badges.
Some people are just bad losers, as previously said, either apologise or better still goad them more. If you then get teams chasing you, leave the zone and comeback later.
