Blaster Teams. Godly power or recipe for disaster?
look at this !
very funny, but a lot of debt

resting??? That's what you do in between missions man. Blaster teams=Godly power btw. Add 2 trollers to a 6 man blaster team for a bit of aggro control/debuffing/buffing and you can take on anything this game can throw at you... anything.
ps. Kheldians in squid form does not count and will never count as a blaster. That's just a a squid, fry it up with some garlic and serve when done.
Yup, I'd have to say all Blaster teams are certainly a lot of fun. Actually played an 8 man team of Blasters/Defenders/Controllers the other day and we were doing far better than we should have done - not a 'plant in sight. ^_^
Generally big blaster teams are godly, rarely a diaster if they have some miles on the clock.
What they can sometimes be is incredibly boring. I was one in the 40's with mine, iirc 5 others blasters plus a few others. They insisted on using nothing but nukes. Talk was limited to a countdown of how long until each persons nuke was ready. Boring doesn't even begin to describe it.
Best team I was in was 6 blasters, an empathy defender to keep us buffed and a tank to manage the aggro. Had to rate as one of the most enjoyable nights I've spent playing. There was one death however in one of those old office building maps. One of the blasters got cut off on the wrong side of a doorway by the mobs filling it, no way out for him and no way for us to get to him. Even that was funny.
Oh dear, anyone who hasn't got a good opinion of 5 man blaster teams needs a chat
Always a laugh, even if it does end up being a disaster.
Blaster teams = Godly

All blaster teams suffer from mezzes, normally there are ways arround the alpha-strike. Pulling being 1 of them. But as soons as you fight large groups of people with mezzes you begin to die. Carnies and Malta are prime examples.

Any time I end up on blaster heavy teams bad things happen. My Kinetics defender has been picked up by Blaster heavy teams a few times and it always seems to go wrong. But these are always Pickup Groups who seem to contain members who don't know Rain Of.... is a terrible opening move. "YOU'RE LEVEL 24!! WHY DON'T YOU KNOW THIS???"
A well co-ordinated Blaster team would be godly. Uncoordinated = horrible nasty mess.

yeah perhaps we should have said, a blaster team of experienced players = godly, otherwise it can be faceplant city

I can honestly say that Ive never been teamed with more that 4 blasters in one team. I also have had mixed results mostly good but there have been a couple of occasions Ive left after gathering up an "godly" amount of debt. As I know mostly team with SG members and being one of the highest level blaster in my SG. It dont happen very often any more.
As mentioned having to many of one arch can make a team very boring, so variety is the spice of COX.

More fun than wellies full of frogspawn. With the right mix of power sets, you've got holds too.
Nothing beats blaster only teams, except maybe controler only teams.

Hmmm, yeah, I can see where you're comming from...
They suffer too much from mezzes. You should exchange 1 for a dedicated kin buffer.

Hehe. This is starting to confirm my own experiences. Of course inexperienced players will drop the average a bit, but they do that in any team. Like when I play my tank, I tell the team I will pull a group of mobs away from a bigger group of mobs, I hit taunt and start moving back to the place I said I'd pull to, then the controller in the team aoe roots the mobs 3 meters from where they originally were. I want to pull my hair and scream, but that is so out of character with my calm and collected tank.
I can also relate to the boredom issue. Playing with my tank in a team of experienced blasters means that I step into a group of mobs, fire off a couple of pbaoe's and my taunt, then the blasters proceeds to wiping out the mob group in seconds. Move to next mob group, rinse and repeat. This with mobs 2-3 levels above the highest member of the team. The bonus is that this makes extremely fast xp, but the fun-factor is rather slim after the 15'th group.
Blaster teams are fun, but as has been said, mezzes mess it all up! I find CoT can be particularly nasty.

Sorry, but for Godlike teams you needs scrappers, and specifically regen scrappers. It's like a freight train charging through the mission and after each major battle you look about and see everyone's on full health with full stamina.
One word; unstoppable.
Not to take anything away from blaster teams, but there's all that waiting about to do between mobs

Blaster-only teams are certainly among the most fun (nothing like jumping from nova to nova), but in terms of efficiency, I would also vote for an all-troller team. Try taking down Diabolique with only scrappers

Which one is Diabolique?
I would put a full team of scrappers against a full team of any other AT in PvE and my money would be on the scrappers.
Bear in mind, even if we can't bring down the AV as fast, assuming your clearing the minions on the way the scrappers will be sitting back at base drinking teas and eating scones whilst the trollers will still be stacking holds on the AV and wiggling some slightly damaging powers at them

Sure, like Fulcrum Shifted Fireballs with containment, on a totally debuffed AV along with an army of pets

Around the graveyard? I know the one you mean. Needs a good team if your going to bring her down without holds.

Hence my point about controllers. Last time I took her down with 4 other trollers it took us about 1 minute + 15 minutes to find the 3 bloody spirits on the map

A Fireball with containment does almost the same damage as a Head Splitter (not counting criticals). And this is without Fulcrum and debuffs (and it's AoE!)

Reading a post just now called something like "what do you hate the most in cox?", I notice that about the only thing that repeats itself is "team with 5 blasters". I know it's taken a bit out of context, but my experience with blaster teams is almost all positive.
Most often I've been in blaster-heavy teams while playing my tank, and I must say those teams have without a doubt the most effective I've ever been in. it's usually me as a tank, an empath and 5-6 blasters, and we're cutting through the missions like knife through hot butter.
Even when playing my blaster, and there is no tank in the team, the sheer damage output of a teamful of blasters are enough to cut a bloody swathe through almost any mission. Albeit with a tad more downtime for resting and such, but anyway. Of course this also dictates some form of teamplay or other, to make sure everyone knows their place in the team, and knows the timing of the attack and such.
These are only my experiences, but what are yours?
In this I include Warshades in squid form as blasters.
