i only started speaking cos sum1 said the only pvp group they wud recommend was AoW and dismissed every1 else and specifically "three lions" from the pvp scene 
all the pvp on mondays is done with great spirits and is always great fun

Yeah, I'd say without doubt that the French teams that turn up to the PvP nights are the best PvP teams I've seen. Has anyone actually beat them yet?
Being able to read the French posts wont change a thing to your preformance in PvP any more than looking at the American forums or even these ones.
Unless the French have a secret source of information letting them know more than the rest of us, I'm putting their wins down to their teamwork. Learning teamwork is something I don't think you can get from reading posts.

Errm where did I specifically dismiss you? I think I said until I knew of another group that had regularly beaten them in recent weeks, I would consider AoW the best PvP group and mentioned I had not heard of Three Lions.
That's still the case. Three Lions are not listed in the raid directory as a team interested in PvP, I know of no other VG/SG's from the Union Leaders channel who have heard of them and I've never come across them in PvP. My quote below covers that

The fact you say there are only three of you goes to confirm it really. How can you consider yourselves the best PvP'ers if you only do a maximum of 3 on 3 battles while AoW can field full raid teams and any size arena or PvP zone team?
When I've come up against AoW in large teams, it has been exactly the teamwork that has won it and organising teams of that size is a damn sight harder than a 3 man team
We all know that all you need to do to reach the height of ownage in this game, all you need to do is combine the Scrapapocalypse with the Lions, the Knight Walkers and Cherry.

However As I said in my previous post, I would not suggest that we are the greatest, we can beat lots of others, but loose at a top level, such as French/defient and union allstars.
We have got good teamwork and are pretty much capabale of holding our own most of the time, but not every set is compatible or will see us through to glory.. and as hobo implies in his last post that souinding like its for glory...- we on the otherhad are after teamwork, spirit and good battles. winning is nice dont get me wrong. but we dont want to change our lives to win games.
There are some very talented people out there, unfortunetly there not all in the same SG. or maybe at least they should merge maybe and form an all singing all dancing SG of there own to claim there own bragging rights eh hobo?
Reason im posting this again,(pls see my prev post if not already) is so AoW dont get a pretty picture painted of us and we are then unable to deliver.
We are a solid good SG with a few of us that do PVP regualry, but other SG's or people possibly deserve better credit.
As I said we are doing very well in the 8 or 9 battles in raids we have had and we are more geared for this at this time. - when we have leveled our other toons maybe the arena will shine better for us. we shall see.
But for now. myself and the SG want to contiune our fun, and not dampend by pressure or unhealthy respect.

We are a 4 man sg because we like being in a 4 man sg. It was formed after the Paragon Allstars died out around 7 months ago and dont want to abandon it because of the length of time it has been around.
Our PvP goup consists of the 4 members of the Three Lions and the Eternal Knight Walkers, we fight arena battles of all sizes, most regularly 8 man. We actually have toons in both sg's so you can pretty much consider us the same group. There is no reason for us to be in the same sg because as far as I know there isn't too much interest in base raids.
I would like to arrange a match with your group if you're interested and can get 8 level 50s. If us not being in the same sg is some kind of problem for you, then we will move our PvP toons into the same sg.

I know to some point this argument is flawed as its paper/scissors/rock but I still would agree with the statement 20% skill 80% build.
In giving 10 ATs each with 2 sets City of Heroes can have so many different builds however so it does take skill to spot the better AT builds and use them well, (left CoH in I4 due to lack of PvP but when the game came out I remember controllers were thought of as completely useless and blappers were laughed at, infact if you even mentioned you liked fighting in the arena it was almost enough to get you kicked out a team ).
Anyway skill has loads to do with it but personally I think bad skill will effect most fights more then good and at high level PvP build wins out.

P.S. Ive teamed with people in AoW and while I am not going to comment on their PvP Ive found every last one of then extreemly friendly and helpful, two traits I put far above being PvP gods.
[/ QUOTE ]so i read a few posts here, can i just say on this point that ihave beaten arch whatshisface with his ice/storm controller, and yes he had hurricane and storm cloud, and ice patch, and freezing rain, there wasnt much wrong with his build, he was a little out of practice with that toon, but i still won 3-2 or more. skill comes into it a fair bit, amongst all skilled players i think builds make more difference, and tactics (which is skill), but a good player can devastate an inexperienced/bad pvper with any decent build they put together from any sets. at level 4 or so with a blaster i could beat a WS with nova form, go figure!? on the onion i beat some 50 scrappers with a buil of plight at 44 i copied from US, he has jumping etc, but also has slotted aid other and single slotted stimulant, this means he has less melee attacks/holds and 1 slotted shields to resist, still beating a regenner who wasnt really up to it.
it is, i think, very annoying that a bad player can beat u with a great pair of (as)sets and im talking ice/en/WW/PB/aid self in open pvp where u dont insp tank etc, when the playerobviously doesnt have the skill to beat u if u had identical builds, or at least balanced ones, other than that i dont mind losing to ppl with these builds when i have seen they are good with any toon.

As a proud member of MoX the AoW-MoX base raid is still being discussed on our forums, so from the feedback there I would have to say AoW are the way to go.
However, such was the response to the raid that loads of us MoXers are now playing PvP orientated toons so we might get our own back on AoW next time!

Probably because it gives PvP more of a purpose to them *shrugs*
