Weakest Combo?
Ironically I don't find FF/Elec to be boring at ALL.... hhmm..
Earth Bubble might be the most slow boring combo ever...
You would do next to no dmg for a really long time...
But, why would you want to play something that really would put you to sleep... ?

So REMOVE the Elec part and stick something in, You actually NEVER wanted to play...
There is nothing that I NEVER want to play. I haven't found a powerset yet that I don't enjoy.
oh, and pk, if you dont like being a villain storywise, once gr hits, you should try a dominator and then go good, especially on teams the aoe goodness will make you grin.
It's wonderful there are people who enjoy playing all manner of combos, as they leave me to play something else with no guilt. I'm a big fan of scenarios in which everybody wins.
Let's consider Tankers. Plenty of people love 'em, some don't like playing anything else. That's great, because I can't play them at all. Actually in thinking about it, I'm gonna say the "weakest" combo, which I'm defining here as "I'd never play it because it's so incredibly at-odds with what I'm looking for in a game", is an Invuln/Ice Tanker. (Yes, I know, now someone will say "Hey, I took one to 50 and it was endless joy!" That person am Bizarro-me.)

You are strange.
There is always something I can think of that just doesnt sound fun.
Like...
Anything/Ninjas Mastermind.
I just don't like Ninjas... But if they had PIRATES, Oh boy I would be all over that.
Geeze I would have liked pirates over demons as well >.>
It bothers me that there are no, and sadly seemingly no plans for, Clown MMs. It's such an obvious set. Or just Circus MMs, with Clown Tier-1s. It makes me very .
Positron has a well known fear of clowns. Though I'm not sure if that's a joke or not.
Force Fields for defenders are ridiculously strong, with fully slotted maneuvers.
...but it is booooooring IMO. I realize not everyone thinks this and I am only describing my own experience.
Oh and Trick Arrow rocks - it has a bad reputation because it used to be weak a long time ago.

So then you're all basically saying the IS no weak combo, just slow ones? That's not what I wanted to hear. I wanted WEAK.
[/ QUOTE ]really no, there isnt. i have commonly heard that emp/lit defenders are weak, my third 50 is seraph blue, and i soloed her a good portion of the way. things get annoying with chain mezzers like rik mentalists, but without shivans or pets, she has soloed quite a few eb's, just have to be smart, pack your insps with foresight, and know how to split the herd. Takes a whie, but in the end, she is standing with no deaths, and they are all zapped. maybe emp dark would be weak, aim is pretty much sera's damage lifeline, and if i recall, dark lacks an aim. though the to hit debuffs might help with survivability.

What the heck is an emp/lit Defender? An Empath who plays while high? I thought that was the other thread...
Storm Summoning is great because it makes you better than everyone else in the game. - Camma
Knockback is mitigation. It won't be removed just because meleers ***** and moan. - Chaos Creator
It's obviously an Empath that had a minor in Literature. Of COURSE he would be useless.
A long time ago, I rolled TWO Grav/En Dominators. Then I read the forums...
Personally, I've never found a combo that was so weak I couldn't solo comfortably with it. I've abandoned some because I find them boring, but those were usually stronger combinations. But then, I actually enjoyed soloing the Posi TF with a (pre-buff) TA/Archery defender.

No one with a minor in Literature could possibly have any Empathy left. Lit courses remove it, along with the soul and the ability to perceive the plain meaning of text.
The Way of the Corruptor (Arc ID 49834): Hey villains! Do something for yourself for a change--like twisting the elements to your will. All that's standing in your way are a few secret societies...and Champions of the four elements.
SS/Shield. Do not slot rage for recharge, do not slot active defense for recharge, and don't take AAO, Shield Charge, or Footstomp. And probably not KO Blow. That's plenty weak, because you have:
Horrible defense that is completely killed when rage drops.
Horrible offense, because without AAO and perma-rage SS basically has no real single target offense.
And even though IOed out SS/Shield Brutes are basically some of the most amazing characters in the game (I should know, I have one with capped defenses, perma hasten, 30 hps/sec of regen, and 95%+ DDR to boot), a badly built one will basically be a self-defeating character.
TW/Elec Optimization
Psy/dev would be considered one of the weakest blaster combos.

[/ QUOTE ]i made one as part of a semi-dare, he is actually pretty fun, lit (or energy for the squares) does a fair amount of damage, i do tend to ignore my controls and just play like a blapper, but its doable.
So far, my Cold domination/Dark blast Corruptor has been the most painful/annoying/weak ? character i've ever played. It is lvl 36 now, and im still waiting for the 'it'll get better later.. it'll get better later' >.<
Combat Kangaroos, Justice Server. First 50's
Jirra Roo Plant/Storm/Stone/Musculature Controller
Combat Kangaroo Rifle/Energy/Mace/Spiritual Blaster
Kung Fu Kangaroo Martial Arts/Reflexes/Body/Spiritual Scrapper
Tribal Arc Shield/Elec/Mu/Spiritual Tanker
Well, one combo that would be considered weak. A Peacebringer with a fully slotted nova form, that is the only form you use. From level 6 to level 50. That, I bet would be a challenge, especially solo.
210 50s and still counting!

Nevermind, I respeced into Power Push, it's all good now.
The only sets I've found that I've actually had trouble soloing were villains, so you're out of luck.
That said, Kin/Archery Defender might be worth a try. It's about the lowest mitigation combo I can think of off the top of my head. Of course, it'd be bestial past the point where it has Fulcrum Shift and Rain of Arrows, but getting there...
Maybe Thermal/Archery come i16.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
Traps/Archery Defender?
Ooh, I know!
Empathy/Assault Rifle
Do I win?

PK,
I think you are too well versed at FF for that to be weak for you. Why not try a Sonic/Elec? You'd have no knockback control so it would be more challenging.

So basically, there are no weak combos at all. As long as you define "weak" as "dies a lot, can't level", that'll never strictly happen, as you can make progress using any powers at all, with the main concerns being time and patience. Given infinite quantities of both, it's impossible to not level. You'd have to actively TRY to make absolutely zero progress, by never attacking at all. And you'd have to stay solo the whole time, any teams would drag you along even if you were just dead and leeching.
There are combos that don't do much damage at all, but have huge amounts of mitigation, and therefore will be perfectly safe but tough to solo. Earth/Empathy Controllers, I think most would agree, would be a wonderful teammate but an exercise in masochism to solo. Other combos have the potential to die a lot, but they'll still make nice progress by virtue of giving up on mitigation.
Personally I find Force Field the most boring "support" set in existence, and Eletric Blast the most boring attack set, so a FF/Elec Defender is something I'd avoid making. (I used to have a Dark/Elec, but I disliked Elec so much that I rerolled her from 32 as a Dark/Rad, and she's so much better now.) Aforementioned Earth/Emp is also something I'd avoid, mainly because that's very much a team-only set (as far as me playing it is concerned), and I can't count on finding teams all the time. Neither of these combos are actually weak, however, they just don't fit ME.
