thanks for posting this i didn't know info had dropped on issue 16.
far as the question i like this alot ...those can you fill tells are in my mind worse than gill sellers.
i get them alot.
also on redside when i work on badges say like trolls you need a full team to get certain mobs to spawn people aren't interested in that.
and im not gonna ask hey can you fill?
out of i know how it is.
i thinks it great but ...if you step back and think about it ...it does seem abit off.
so in a way prob great for badgers and "can you fill" tells... but it raises questions too.

I wouldn't really consider "one guy clears a map while 7 other guys stand at the door" to be "grouping". "Grouping" implies an actual group effort.
And it's not like only solo players benefit from this. A 3-man team can spawn a map for an 8-player team, etc.

Cause a fire/kin or fire/psi running a map is so not grouping.
I would also hope he is not referring to the hami farms. Cause that would just be . . .

Once this change goes Live, I'll never farm again. What would be the point ? I farm because I like fighting tons of mobs and getting great rewards, now I'll have the option to fight tons of mobs and get great rewards in every mission I get from level 1 to 50.

but yet like you just mentioned it does raise questions can this be exploited?

And once again, those folks who are farming, would not be teaming with you if they weren't anyway.
They probably would have quit by now.
EDIT: One of the game's virtues has ALWAYS been that it was easy to solo in--that you were not forced to team to do the epic stuff (cough*EQ*FFXI*coug)
Many folks don't get that.

I'm wondering about one thing concerning this.
If I set my difficulty to be a certain number of people, does it mean I can do TFs solo? I realize I can ALREADY do this, but it'd be nice to cut out the steps of inviting and then kicking people.
Maybe I'm totally not remembering how things used to be but wasn't this in the game before and they removed it?

EDIT: In fact the game used to have NO difficulty slider at all.

Yes. Which is why it ANNOYS the piss out of so many, and many are glad that this feature is going to be implemented. No more tells asking "can you fill".
