Everybody is playing scrappers.

Just a random observation. Playing my heros recently, I've noticed most players are scrappers.

Also, as I watch the forum surfers, I consistantly see the scrapper forum as having the most viewers.

City of Scrappers?

The scrapper forum is where the most interesting discussions are (obviously no bias at all when I say that ! ), many people who don't play scrappers browse it.

I think numbers showed blasters were the most popular AT at low levels and controllers at high levels, but I can't remember if these numbers were given out by the devs or from player research, so don't quote me on that.

I've never played any melee based characters to any meaningful level, but Scrappers were meant to be the easiest entry-point into the game, so their numbers should not come as a surprise really.

I believe that a Kheldian Gold Standard should be based on SO's, and for anything above that... there's Platinum!

on Red side its City of Brutes...

so welcome to City of Scruters!

Ok now see here i was thinking that scrappers are becoming the least common AT around. Started a team earlier on freedom in hollows and i was the only scrapper in the level range. Found most players are now using either blasters or controllers personally.

I invited 6 people to a Manticore TF this afternoon-invited everyone I could find, took everyone who wanted to come- and it was mostly level 50 defenders and controllers.

Similar to a Numina I ran last night. Mostly controllers and blasters. No Scrappers.

Lol, we're plotting allover this graph, I was on a Manticore with 4 Scrappers 3 blasters and a troller.

I'm not playing a scrapper. On my last level (49) on a Widow (which will probably gather dust afterward,) and working on a grav/kin right now.

On Infinity on Sunday, forming a Sister Psyche TF. Had a warshade on team and he wanted another scrapper for last position. When I check in the Team Find button, only one scrapper was listed and he was level 9. Granted that was just for those who listed themselves as looking for teams, but still.

City of Scrappers?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's not so much that most people are playing Scrappers. The Scrapper forums are simply one of the more open, number optimization centric boards around. There have actually been a number of Brutes, Khelds, and other ATs that have found themselves on our boards because the boards for their own ATs weren't being particularly helpful.

So, in short, in game, Scrappers are common, but not so common as to actually be the only thing people play (remember when teaming that Scrappers are excellent soloers and oftentimse don't feel the need to team) and the Scrapper boards aren't just used by Scrappers.

I love the scrapper forums, and hate playing scrappers. I spend a lot of time there, because they are generally intelligent, useful, and kind.

So when I take my Stalkers blue-side, then I won't have trouble finding TF teams?

I recently ran a Sara Moore TF on my scrapper (wanted the Rularuu shield).. team ended up as 6 scrappers, tank, blaster. We kicked butt.

But, outside of that TF, I really have not seen too much of an increase in general scrapper population, but I also have not been taking a census.

I've noticed this as well. I think it's 'cause they reserve their ire for NPCs.

Most of us are all three, but I'm only 2 of those. Guess which.

Also, very few things are more fun than flipping out and killing things.

The scrapper forum seems to be the most peaceful on the boards, because scrapper powersets are actually quite well balanced. It's kinda scary.

It makes me laugh alot when people say it is City of "Insert AT".

Are there players that are exclusively only playing one single character all the time in this game? Furthermore, are players that have alts only and ONLY play scrappers and nothing else?

If there are more scrappers online at one time, i call that a coincidence.

That is all.

I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

I have noticed a preponderance of scrappers in my new SG, but playing my scrapper I've been the only melee toon in many groups. Personally I have probably a dozen scrappers spread across all the servers, but the highest is only level 37. I really enjoy playing them, but the various power sets are all so much fun I find it hard to focus on one for long enough to get one to 50. Now my energy/devices blaster on the other hand, was easy to focus on.

Ha! That must have been loads of fun!

Repeat Offenders has an all Scrapper SG. I've been slacking making yet another alt, but my resistance is being debuffed daily.....

I have one Scrapper. They just don't do anything for me.

Scrappers are extremely noob-friendly. My first character was a Scrapper, and I loved it, until I got that appetite for something more tactical than "Hit it really hard!"

Even so, I still play my Scrapper and Brute occasionally, because sometimes that single-minded, simplistic "Hit it 'til it dies" playstyle is just what you need.

My first 50 was a Kat/DA scrapper and I still bring her out to play.

As far as recently though I ran two radio mission teams in Talos on Freedom on two different days. First day after playing for about 7 hours I had 4 scrappers total (not at the same time) and the second time there was all of one scrapper. I have been seeing a lot of blasters and a number of Tanks but not a lot of defenders.
