Combat Application Tourniquet

In Washington State, there was a bill proposed to make throwing containers of human waste from a moving vehicle a crime that would add "points" to your driver's licence. There, they have a system where points add up towards a suspension of your licence and presumably, different offences would be worth different points.
The news crew doing the story interviewed a man whose job was picking up highway trash (D.O.T. worker, I think) who claimed to have picked up a quart jar of #2.
The bill was killed by lobbying by the trucking industry, which makes ya wonder, how hard would it be to drive an 18-wheeler while trying to balance your aim (for a duece!) like that?
I've worked around truck drivers for 15 years and yes, they are that dirty.
"Professional" Drivers, they like to be called.

And since many (long-haul) are paid by the mile, stopping to pull over to use restrooms costs them money.

Think about that next time you are driving close to a semi on the freeway, and be sure to give them plenty of room.

I always have given them room, but that gives more incentive to do so.

When I lived in VA, I was driving late night. it was a 4 lane highway. The two middle lanes were open, a semi on each of the far right and left lanes. As soon as i went to one of the middle lanes they both decided to converge on little me. I wasn't too happy.

To be fair, we're not all like that. In fact, I'd go as far as to say most aren't. But there are some filthy drivers out there, there's no denying that. And enough of them to make us look bad and cause problems for others. Trust me, though, for every driver out there that's more obsessed with making miles than personal health and hygiene ( And the health of others ), there's 5 others out there utterly disgusted by those drivers and hiding our faces in shame.

Several states already do have laws like the one you described in place, many also have -hefty- fines attached to it - above and beyond the standard litter fine.

On the other hand, when I think of all the ridiculous bills groups like CRASH( Citizens for Reliable and Safe Highways ) have passed against truckers, I can't be that upset that trucking lobbyists got a ridiculous win like that.

With my friends, they took advantage of the fact they could never remember to bring back in their Double Gulps for the refill pricing.

No, these folks arrived at account creation that way.

This thread brings back many old and joyful memories. Ah the days of yesteryear, D&D rulebooks, dice, pizza, two liter bottles of soda and 20 hours with nothing to do. Ah, the good old days! Of course my parents are still wondering if I will make anything of myself. Or if I'll ever move out of the basement...

I've played this game with my arm in a cast.

with the right kind of mouse i could see that happening. The way I'm set up. As long as I can still move my thumb and fingers i'm set. If I can't even do that then I'll be installing voice command software.

Luckily I've yet to even break a bone.

I was playing with 3 broken ribs, a quarter deflated lung, a dislocated finger, and a mild head injury. Of course what else is there really to do in a hospital room at 3am?

Edit Add: Of course that is not to say I was playing well.

Up to two hours, then you start getting iffy. Of course, you should have called for an ambulance right away so it shouldn't matter.

[/ QUOTE ]

Less so if applied to the neck.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just make sure to pack the head in ice for reattachment.

I played a Monk when EQ first came out, before all the mudflation. I once camped a spawn for 4 days straight, waking up every 75 minutes to kill the placeholder for a very rare named goblin. The gloves that I was rewarded at the end of that quest lasted me about three months before they were made useless by better loot...

The story that beats that one is a doozy. I was at a dragon raid at about 2am on Saturday night when I got a call from my mother telling me that my father had just died. I told my guildmates and camped, then called the airline to get the next flight home. It wasn't for 6 hours and there was no way I was going to sleep... so I logged back in to finish the raid. My guildmates were stunned to see me, but honestly I wanted to be "with friends". Still for years afterward they all remembered that night and later when I was the guild leader they would tell new recruits about me. "She didn't even stop raiding when her father died. Man, that's a hardcore player right there..."
