Stop me from saving merits

So I look at the price of Miracle uniques yesterday, and the lvl40 has gotten to selling for a significant chunk of change (and I didn't even think to check the 20).

The dilemma is that I have a level 32 toon with 119 merits, which I was planning to roll at 33, because pool C/D recipes are handy at that level and tend to sell for a bit more than the immediate neighbors higher and lower. Oh yeah, and to help out the market and all that altruism stuff.

But now, saving for 240 merits might seem worth it.

Argue to help stop me from my selfish ways!

I'm pretty sure that the LOTG 7.5% global recharge goes for more then the miracle and it cost 40 merits less.

With the [presumed] disproportionate representation of Miracles in the rolls, twelve 40-45 rolls gives you considerably more than a 1/3 chance (I guess about 50%) of getting the Miracle ANYWAY, plus you have around a 1/2 chance of a Numie and a 1/2 chance of a LoTG. (I think the "weighting" goes from 1 to 5 depending on number of them slotted when they did the math, and I'm assuming that the average of those 66 recipes is about 2.5 because there's so much crap-that-nobody-slots there and the superjuicies are weighted at 5. No experiments have been done to support these assumptions. ) And if you figure the odds of an Impervium: Resist, an Obliteration Quad, a Blessing of the Zephyr: KB, and a bunch of "only" 20-million-inf items like Celerity: Stealth, it's lookin' pretty good to roll random.

Considering that the pronounciation for "tequila" is uncomfortably close to "takillya."

*shudder, twitch*

I'll stick with my rum and homebrew.

Redside they go for that price as a recipe, let alone crafted. Haven't checked blueside in a couple of weeks.

TBH they fluctuate all over the place. I recall seeing a bidding history where someone snagged one for 1 inf, compared to that you are all suckers getting ripped off. /em shrug

After an excruciating Twilight's Son TF, which ended with me using a tank to solo an EB possessing -def, -tohit, -rech, and a self-heal, I got the final merits to provide me with six TF rolls at 33. (The merit/hour on that one was about 1.5.) Off to the merit-changer, and ...

Miraculous Ending

It turned out the 350-pounder was dreamy, too.

Why not roll at 33 as you had planned, then turn off XP gain for a while and run some more TFs?

[/ QUOTE ]Let me ask this, lets say a person manages to do every single story arc from levels 1-22. They save up their merits and decide to roll the 25-29 range. What will be the odds of getting LoTG and/or Miracle at that point versus saving all merits to roll in the 30-34 range?
