This build soft caps defense and is cheap relatively speaking. And that was what I was going for. Yes there is HUGE amounts of room for improvement. But for the money...I like it.

  3. Sorry all...was talking to someone over in i16 beta about this build, told him I would post it. Critique away. And yes I know Procs nerf Chain Induction...but I needed the set to soft cap vs Range.

    The differences are:

No hover, it's SS (same slots though) (60 month vet and all)

You know what the people who are looking for missions to farm find desirable. You know what maps they prefer. So when you see someone exactly replicate one of the classic farming missions, any of the long list of ones that NCsoft, Paragon, and/or Cryptic have had to go in and set to timed missions so that people couldn't farm them over and over forever, you know full well what the person who designed that mission was thinking: "this combination of enemies, with this particular design for an ally that will increase my farming efficiency without kill-stealing my XP, on a map that lets me move continuously and effortlessly from one spawn to the next until we're ready to reset, of exactly the right size to hit hit the max-ticket cap for me and all 7 fillers -- there, perfect."

If you weren't someone who registered back in 2004, I would tell you to not feel bad if you can't tell the difference between a legitimate mission and a farming mission, it just means that you haven't learned all the borderline exploits, and that's a good thing; let those of us who have been disgusted by the whole phenomenon for years put our knowledge to good use shutting them down and don't worry about it yourself. I'd reassure you that the exact combination of the right one or two factions with exactly the right one or two maps with a particularly counter-intuitive NPC design is not something you're likely to stumble upon by accident, and if you do, you're unlikely to get the slot locked for first offense.

But since you're not someone who just fell off of the turnip truck, it seems to me that it's far too likely that you're trying to stir up an argument, cloud the waters, to create the false and dishonest impression that there's any particular doubt about what's legitimate and what's not, so that you can lie to yourself and to others that you had no reason to think that your lovingly-recreated wolf farm or TV farm or Dreck farm or meow farm or anything based on similarly exploited game mechanics was disallowed, so that if you get punished for it, you can feel justified when you scream and cry that the developers are meanies, that they're arbitrary dictators who only picked on you because they're bad people and they hate you for not being a fawning fanboy.

If my guess is wrong and the question was sincere, my apologies for the misunderstanding. If my guess is right, good luck with that, farmer.
That last part there...that's it. Yes, I have been playing since the beginning and I am honestly curious what other people think are "farms" because I keep seeing post after post of poeple saying things like "Farming is bad" or "Farmers suck".

Farming, as defined by me, is way too broad a term to labeled as "bad" or "sucking". Ergo, I want to try to form a consensus so I can determine for myself what everyone else thinks sucks so much.

Jeeze...hope I didn't muddy things too much there.

I know...it is a brand new SG, with only my toons in it. So I know none of them had the badge.

I thought I had all of the badges in RWZ at the time I was asking in a global channel about it but I didn't. iirc badge 13 lies under the mothership FF and there is 14 total badges in RWZ. At the time I didn't realize there were 14 and thought 13, the one under the FF, was the last one. But as soon as I landed near badge 14 I got the beacon.

Nope. I can, for certain, say that you no longer need that badge. My new SG got the beacon for RWZ without it.

An in-game friend told me such...I wasn't sure but once I hit the last badge not under the Mothership's FF I got the SGB badge and the beacon.

You must do a mission from the Atlas Park "City Hall Representative" located in the main entrance hall in City Hall. The lady standing right in the middle of the entrance hall.

Your friend may have the Valkyre cape or the Magic pack cape. These are add-ons to the game which can be purchased for real money at the NC Soft store (from which you apply the serial code to your account).

    Excellent. Thank you.

I think you make a very valid point here. In your opinion "Farmers dont care about exp ".

That, in my opinion, muddys the water in regards to"farming" and "Power Leveling".

Isn't that subjective? Specifically your statement of I dont know about farming the AE because I think that is silly... You dont get anything good for doing it."

Isn't what is "good" subjective to each person?

Tickets are good, XP is good, influence is good...right? If not to you then perhaps to someone else?
  13. My apologies for not, apparently, clarifying what I meant.

If a "farm" is, and I quote:
    Quote:
Farming is going to do a mission or missions with the explicit purpose of getting loot drops, recipes, or money.
what does it matter if it is in AE or not?

In regards to "reporting", I would presume 'reporting' pertains to exploits and exploits only. If you opinion differs from mine I would like to hear it. Thanks.
  14. I hear a lot about "farm" this and that. I report "farms"..."farms" are exploits, etc..so I thought I should find out what makes a farm, a "farm".

So...what, in your opinion, makes a mission a farm and thus something that should be reported?

Standing back, or restricting use to corners and rooms hardly comes across as surgical repositioning, and more like "I'm the king of this spot right here!"
Stand in any long hallway, you are now able to "surgically" resctrict the access of mobs to team mates within your FB. It really isnt hard.

Heck, you don't "have" to use it surgically either...on a recent SG only LFTF we had a 'bots/FF MM that was soft capped to range stand in the hallway during the end battle (with the two AV's) right next to the "pulled into the hallway" AV and thus keep all the support Rikti from getting close to the AV.

  17. 63 months as of...TODAY! w00t!

    Can I play?
  18. Farming: Low Risk High Reward

This is the jist of farming, as I understand things.

I do farm, I have so many alts that I want to play and I am tired of the low level grind, but my missions are some serious high risk.

In fact, no one has managed to live through one of my farm runs (excpet my farmer of course). That makes my mission high risk...right?

OK, my real question is: What risk is there?

There is no debt in AE so if you die...er...well, whoop-dee do!!

Seriously...what risk is there in any AE missions?

Perhaps if XP were removed from AE (hold up: fire proof underwear is around here somewhere).

    What I purpose is:

    Remove XP from AE missions.
    Leave Tickets in AE missions.
Add regular salavage/enhancement/recipe drops to AE missions.

Could this be abused? Sure...but ANYTHING in this game can be abused. Think about how many farms there were before AE. This isn't anything new, it's just easier.

    Anyways...that's my thought. Agree? Disagree?
  19. I made my first Widow, ever, this morning. I have two accounts, one is full (all 36 slots), and I finally got a lvl 50 villain on my second (not a big red side player).

    Name: The Brown Recluse

I was floored that it was avaiable (on Infinity).
  20. I love the router rooter "discussion".

An American in an English owned company (which is in turned owned by Swedish company) leads to quite a few word "discussions".
  21. Terman8er

    Weakest Combo?

    I suggest Earth/Emp troller.

I have one at 40 now and he ONLY teams. In fact he was made for a team, a specific team. My SG has dedicated teams that meet up once a week and play together.

My dwarven cleric (on a D&D themed team).

Man...I tried to run my lvl 40 costume slot mish alone...UGH!
  22. Hey all...I just wanted to say I found a way to have some fun with my ill/FF troller (been shelved for over a year).

Soft capping him for ranged defense was rather easy and cheap (helped that I had a bunch of SG mates give me thier purple confuse set drops back in the day).

Force Bubble + Capped Range Def = FUN!

    That is all.

    I know...anti-climatic huh?
  23. Terman8er

    Funny AFK

My personal favorite happened just the other day.

I am playing downstairs (when I had my house finished I had the basement turned into my office and my master bedroom) and wife yells out, "Honey...Um...can you come here please. It's really important."

    So I AFK Wife Aggro.

Go upstairs and there is a black bear cub on my porch sniffing at my sealed trash can.

Yeah...I live in the middle of no where, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. You know...the kind of place where, perhaps in the winter with no leaves, you might be able to see a neighbor.

Regretfully I do not, yet, own a firearm. But, I am a rather large man (6'5" and around 320lbs), a former pro football player and an Army veteran. I also own a fair number of weapons. Swords, spears, maces, axes, etc... (the real deal too not the 'display only' kind of stuff).

So I snatch a spear off my wall and head outside to chase Yogi off.

Black Bears are not very large. An adult male might get to 300 or so pounds. I was a bio major when I first entered college...did a term paper on bears my freshman year.

I stepped outside...poked Yogi Jr to encourage him to leave the house...he does. Starts wandering away. Now...I am maaaaaaaybe three steps from my front door. Got a 100lbs yellow lab/white sheppard mix waiting at the door.

I, THANK GOD, hear the bellow (I am soooo glad she roared or bellowed or whatever) and turn my head to see mom barreling down my driveway right at me.

20 + years of football, a black belt in a couple of forms of martial arts, a 7' spear in my hands, a US Army veteran (Desert Storm anyone?), and I out weighed her by about 100 pounds.

I couldn't get in the door fast enough. A pissed off moma bear is the last thing I EVER (at least not without an assault rifle of a large bore shotgun in my hands) want to piss off and then be that close to.

After I was able to breath and the bears went on thier merry little way...dog was brave, he wanted out there and a piece of mom...dumb dog...I went back to my PC.

I type: "Sorry all...pissed off momma-bear almost ate me"

Six players all stood there...and the questions flew.

    Um...didn't I?

    Actual link is http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Stealth

The link in your original post is http://cityofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/Stealth at the moment i am posting this, which is the non-maintained wiki and yet the quoted link is the active wiki. How odd.

Stealth edit or some odd anomaly of the boards?

[i]Edit: Ah, Fleeting Whisper is being silly. Yeah, Terman8r, your original post currently links the inactive wiki.
