Memorize a Recipie?

Once you memorize a recipe, you no longer need a recipe to craft that invention and the influence costs are cheaper to craft it. Only common IOs can be memorized.

But, how do you "memorize" one?

A reicpe memorisation badge allows you to:
1) cratft without having the recipe dropped/bought
2) provide ~50% discount to the crafting cost.

Memorising recipes outside of level 10s is done in pairs, (15-20, 25-30, 35-40,45-50). You have to craft form both levels to get the badge

In addition to the effects above two of the 'tiers grant extra inventory
25-30 grants +2 salvage inventory
45-40 grants +1 recipe inventory

http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Gainin..._Crafter_Badge
has the summary requirements for each of the memorisation badges in one compact table

It depends on the recipe and the level, but basically, you memorize recipes by crafting enough of them to earn the badge for that recipe family.

For example, damage and KB commons are in the same family. To memorize level 35 and 40 damage and KB recipes you have to craft a certain number (10 I think) of both 35 and 40 damage OR KB recipes.

hmm, I just crafted 10 rech IO and I got the hired gun badge...I thought you had to do both Rech and Interrupt time IO to get the badge?

Either way this is good to know, I find that crafting the cheaper dmg IO's that sell for 200k+ is going to cushion my bank account! Thanks!!!

For Hired Gun

Its 10 total craftings of Rechage and Interupt at level 10.

That can be 10 recharges or 10 interupts, or any combination of the two that adds up to 10.

When you get to mez ones for example it is any combination of: Sleep, Snare, Hold, Stun, Immobilize, Fear just as long as the levels are right.

I have a character with Field Crafter just for the badges. I would say it's a cool deal, but it takes a long time to buy the resources and craft the things 10 at a time (to transfer) for alts. She herself doesn't need them, and even if my friends need IOs, it's usually easier to just give them money.

And with common salvage so high, I can't even craft them for profit.

I think the AE might actually be a great help in getting the crafting badges. Do some mishes, spend half your tickets on recipes, the other half on common salvage- fill your try and you should have whatever you need. Plan ahead.

.... err, I'm sorry. That was very rude of me.

I surely meant "save a couple of slots for low bids on salvage and put sellers in the other 15-20."

People have been, with a straight face, paying 300K for level 35 and 40 generic IO's for the last few months. Rech reduction, endmod, acc, dam, that I've personally made money on.

I still get my salvage for 25K or less- usually 10K or so, but I've gotten sloppy, because I still make SO MUCH MONEY even if I overpay for salvage.

You can use tickets from Mission Architecht to get what you want, then sell the rest of the random salvage for profit.

[edited to add]
I did that and got Field Crafter and made 70 million infamy in the process.

total kick to the gut

ok...I have some work ahead of me, I have an entire base just for storage of salvage and several alts to cushion my salvage racks.

I am using a Spines/SR stalker for my IO making machine, Is that a good choice? I heard some of the Dom buffs neutered them so I wanna avoid them.

Any ideas?

Personally, I'm using my scrapper blue side and a brute red side for that stuff. Though the reasoning is that they were my first 50s. As far as crafting, no archetype has any advantage over the others for inventions, though ability to make tickets/influence/infamy comes into play to keep the money flowing in to do all of the inventions. I've found the quickest way to do this is through patient marketing, or the more obvious and direct way, 'arresting' things. That choice is up to you.

Once you get some of the memorization badges, at the end of your play session (or when your inventory is full) you can just craft what you have inventory for and sell that for profit, but you will still need SOME cash coming in to support it.

Also note that when selling SOs, DOs, and TOs, to pay attention to which store pays the most for them if you don't go through the market for them. I usually use the RWZ quartermaster for selling because he gives the highest buy-back rate possible for all origins and he's usually pretty easy to get to from most places. I think the Cimerora vendor does as well along with a few others. There's a list somewhere on the wiki that has all of that, just can't find it right now.

So basically any toon that you can gain cash or tickets fast on, which usually lends itself to being the typical 'farming' toons.

I got the 'magic' million inf for a common level 50 endrec. They were selling at about 500K, but sold out when I listed a block of 10, the first went for 1 million even. The other 9 sold out at decreasing prices down to that 500K. Thankfully I had the inventory of salvage to immediately craft another block of 10.

Personally, I use the characters that I'm not actively playing, ie the "shelved" ones. Those are the ones that have no time constraints on their Market slots for low bidding or (moderately) high selling.

Last summer I was selling 35 damage IOs for 100K. The salvage was going for the ultra cheapo price of 1K each. More times than I could count folks would hit that extra "0" and give me the 1 million payday. Yours was probably on purpose, but nothing makes an ebil heart sing than free money that you don't have to feel guilty about not returning (since I don't know who paid it.)
