Ran 4 arena matches 3 far 230ish kill not one drop.
Well if my lovely last remaining PvP IO isn't sold when I get home, I am pulling it off the market and doubling its price then.

Given how easy it is to farm in the arena... I'm thinking "not a bug." (I'd have two firetanks, one sitting on the respawn spot of the other, swap once you get a recipe, but I haven't given it much thought.)

This was my way of IO'ing out all my 50s that I have shelved for so long. Looks like I get to scratch PvP IO farming off my list of reasons I still play.

I am trying to come up with a way to say the following that won't be taken as a dev slam so please understand that is not my meaning.
Badges is the responsibility of different devs than IOs, I think, so that would explain the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing kind of event.
Alternatively the badges were added to get people to use the arena since the rewards were going to get removed.

Subbing out drops for badges is not going to get more people into the arena.

You know that. I know that. Pretty much everyone knows that. That still doesn't mean that isn't why they did it.

Can't say we didn't see it coming after it got blabbed and then some on the market boards. I was actually VERY surprised to see so many people boasting about how much money they were making from a pretty obvious...not working as intended situation.
I figured they were just letting us farm up the recipes to bring the price down to where it wasn't worthwhile to farm anymore. Apparently though, they just want the PVP recipes to be more rare than purples.
Well, I got my 600m recipe just in time, it seems.

I guess we just need to take turns being killed and rezzed in the PvP zones instead. That would be so much harder. They really need to hire that 5 year old kid before implementing changes to stop abuse.

If PvP didnt suck so damn bad maybe people would actually PvP to get drops but lets face it, PvP is crap here

If they removed it but are to chicken [censored] to admit they did it I wont be around too much longer. This game continues to make changes that take away from things I find enjoyable. I have learned to adapt and find new things but they way things get "changed" without actually saying it did is for the birds
Make a change, say you did it and why. Costumers keep this game alive. Avoiding things like this is such bad business on their part it really gets to me. I run a business with 52 employess. I cant always make everybody happy but if a change is coming I let people know so they can not only prepare but feel like I am here to be honest and helpful with the coming changes.

what's obvious about it?
they're PvP IO's, people were getting them in a PvP environment.
Farmers commonly pad their missions to increase the quantity of drops they get, either with multiple accounts or recruiting others.
And I've said this before but apparently it needs repeating- a few posts in a backwater sub-forum aren't ringing any alarm bells at Dev Central. Those are generated by the immense flood of numbers they sift 24/7.

Going afk for 30 mins and coming back with a drop worth 600m inf is pretty obviously an exploit imo.
I appreciate that you'd like the devs to be more specific about it, and I appreciate that the way they handles borderline stuff in the past was terrible...but comon, you're not fooling me with this charade. AFK farming of the most valuable recipes in the game is an exploit.
EDIT - Oh and btw, it's entirely possible they turned it off for now until they figure out how to handle it.
Multiple accounts can still kill each other in pvp zones, not just arena. der...
Speaking of exploits, this whole game has turned into one, imo. Just gotta learn it or hear bout it.
Is it possible that they upped the drop rate for them?

But why is it so valuable? Players want it and are willing to pay for it but they remain rare enough to justify a high price.
And though someone might get that 600M drop, they may also get one of several 1M drops.
Over the course of 2 days I got 10 drops which (red side) were worth aroudn 265M. I never got any worth more than 100M and only one at that.
If the issue is AFK farming, then really that is what they need to fix. This would be yet another baby out with the bathwater fix otherwise.

You mean, like they did with the Cathedral of Pain Trial and base raids? Yeah, if that's the case I wouldn't expect to see them back anytime in the next few years.
I'm almost wishing I'd held onto all the PvP IOs I sold, because I know I could probably get double what I sold them for now.
