actually no...it's bright and sunny...I've spent the last few hours reading a book and playing Mario Kart Wii...

Just saying to those moaning that this is inconviencing them, when the majority on the US servers aren't inconvienced by it should try being on the EU servers...where the majority is inconvienced by it...but we start making puns in our maintenance threads, or we go outside and do other things, just nipped back into check if the servers had been updated and Issue 15 was live.

how does one nip back in?

I believe it involves chewing through the outer layers to get back to where you started. I may be wrong though.

My mind wanders so often you've probably seen its picture on milk cartons. - Me... the first person version of the third person Steelclaw

Might have a different meaning in the US but to 'Nip' somehwere is a british slang term that mean 'to quickly go somewhere' for example if you say your 'nipping to the shops' it means 'quickly going to the shops' can be used in past, present and future tenses 'nipped' 'nip' and 'nipping'.

The more you know...

Posted

State side we use nip to describe a small bite.

Posted

ah...the wonders of language do it again!

Yeah I quickly learned not to use my british description for "a packet of cigarettes" while in Canada...got me some odd stares.

The term actually comes from the ye olde british meaning for a bundle of sticks which is also a rude slur word on homosexuals nowadays.

Do you drink tea?

(Also thanks for telling me I actually was curious about that)

Just to point out, Mechano (though I agree with your statements as presented), the OP was complaining specifically about the Aussie/Japan/New Zealand area. >.> Which puts it at a far earlier time and hits a bigger section of their prime time (or so I would imagine).

Time math always confuzzles me, though.

Some times I think we intentional change British slang so things vitors say sound hilarous.

Of course I drink tea...

However I don't have a Posh or Cockney English accent.

we do have, many accents, a quick run down is Manchurian (Manchester), Liverpudlian (Liverpool), Brumie (Birmingham), Yorkshire, Lancastrian, Somerset, Dorset, North London, South London, East London, West London (each side of London has it's own specific accent, Central London is of course Cockney though Cockney rhymning slang in constant use is dying out, various words to filter through to the various London based accents, such as "having a Butchers" at something comes from "Butchers Hook" which meant "Look" in Cockney rhymning slang) and there's quite a few others I've left out of this already long list.

(I have a South London accent, not quite as gutteral as East London however we tend to speak very fast and clip our words).

If they do it with an accent, all the better.

...what? Most British, Irish, and Scottish accents are hot.

Not so sure about Wales, though. Can't say as I've had much experience with that area... though I'd imagine it's not much different.

Point stands, though!

I'm going to go giggle at some clips of the last Doctor.

That would be Mancunian. Manchuria is on the other side of the planet.

ok, breakfast was delicious, my son loved the scrambled eggs, put him down for his nap and finishing up my coffee.

Off to work in a few.

Servers still unavailable, alas I can't work up a hysterical reaction.
guess I'll just have to check the market when I get home. =P

I hate the unannounced major server barfs. They should really schedule their downtime and server issues. I also hate when the game crashes without warning. There should be a pop-up asking if now is a good time for the game to crash, just in case I'm in the middle of something.

I think you should relax. In just a few more minutes/hours/days you will be on your Hero/Villain kicking some [censored]. You will have forgotten that you had to wait a little for a new update.

Shake it off, read your email, search for a job, send your mom an Ecard, whatever you do, just relax.

Well just like to say that Issue 15 is now live on the EU servers for the English servers only (French and German are having problems). So if you still can get on in the US...I say this...

...HA!

...not that I'm actually that excited about Issue 15...just means the booster pack will be out soonish...

Edit: Damn you, still in testing! Hoisted by my own Petard!

You forgot about Yorkshire. Hollywood is going bananas after they discovered it (Sean Bean) and now use it far too much.

Ah true...tis in my list of accents though if you look... (can see it in your quote of it )

Patch applying? They letting i15 go live unannounced and still not fixed up?

IF they haven't fixed the bugs in the minor tweaks they are calling I15 by now then I worry for this dev team.
