Monday evening, prime time, 8:30pm, and the servers are dead as a dodo. Nothing in announcements, nothing in News, nothing in Technical Issues. The EU forum has a few people complaining, and some lickspittles pointing to some 'free respecs coming for I15' post, as if that's the -answer-.

Japan, Australia, New Zealand, we're all completely affected by this rampant nonsense. If you sprang surpruse maintenance in US prime time, the screaming and 'I'm cancelling my account' posts would crash the ^%$#@ forum, there would be so much outrage.

Sorry to hear about your server troubles. The servers have to come down for maintenance at some point, esp. if they are putting in an issue update. And no matter what time of day the folks at NCSoft decide to do maintenance, SOMEONE is not going to be able to log in and play at that time. It's a bummer, but it is only temporary.

I think it would be kind of NCSoft to give the Australians as much game time as they can right now... since their government is frothing to ban all online games because of the "experiences may change during play" aspect of them... or so I read.

It seems unlikely to go through, but who knows...

Ironically having an Australian complain (overreact?) here about unannounced server issues of an "evil overseas" game would probably actually lend more support for any online banning initiative the Australian government may be thinking about.

Again I can understand why the OP is frustrated by this one situation. But it'd be sad to think he/she might be indirectly helping people to legislate access to this game completely away from all Australians...

Yeah the Devs usually "heavily hint/imply" when a new Issue is about to be pushed live if not outright tell us.
Most of the time we have a few days "warning" of it.

Based on what I've seen I was pretty much expecting it this Tuesday (or next Tuesday). It'll be unusual if this thing today actually stands, but again it wouldn't be impossible to believe. As someone earlier mentioned they could be trying to get a jump on the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Just got told I wasn't allowed to log into virtue because my game account wasn't "NCSoft Staff".

They internal-test new issues before opening the servers up.

Okay, long thread already, and sorry if someone pointed this out already. It's MONDAY. We have server maintenance every Monday and Friday, so this shouldn't be that unexpected. I guess it started a little earlier, but this shouldn't be that much of a surprise. If anything, you should be grateful the patching happened during a regular maintenance so there wasn't an extra down period during the week.

then I check back a while later, and things are usually back to normal.

But it seems to work.

Heh all you people complaining about the servers coming down in your prime time...

As an EU player Issue updates ALWAYS come during out Prime Time because the dev team have to be up and awake before the EU support staff will even think about applying a patch incase anything goes pear shaped.

Also, all that MA Maintenance you had that was applied for you in the mornings...yeah hit us in our prime time slot...

So before you start moaning, the EU community has got you beat on being inconvienced by these updates since it's always during our prime time

actually no...it's bright and sunny...I've spent the last few hours reading a book and playing Mario Kart Wii...

Just saying to those moaning that this is inconviencing them, when the majority on the US servers aren't inconvienced by it should try being on the EU servers...where the majority is inconvienced by it...but we start making puns in our maintenance threads, or we go outside and do other things, just nipped back into check if the servers had been updated and Issue 15 was live.
