You are right, child abuse is no laughing matter. Good riddance.

I'm glad we still live in a society that believes people are innocent until proven guilty.

[/ QUOTE ]

let me guess you believe OJ didn't do it cuz he was proven innocent?

[/ QUOTE ] Not even close to the same level of proof. Besides, I firmly believe OJ got off because of incompetence.

[/ QUOTE ]

i didnt say Michael did anything just pointing out innocent till proven guilty is awesome, only in a perfect society problem is people are corrupt

[/ QUOTE ] My misunderstanding then. Fair point.

Rest in Peace Michael.

No matter how good or bad a person you may have been, you will always be a Thriller.

I grew up listening to Michael Jackson. Literally. The very first album I ever listened to that wasn't a read-along was "Thriller". It was on my father's turntable. I listened to the title track late at night--we'd just gotten home, and I was really looking forward to it, so I abandoned my parents to bring in...whatever it was they had to bring in, can't remember...and headed straight for the living room. I remember the song scared the tar out of me, especially Vincent Price's voiceover. The album really amazed me as a whole. "Bad" was the very first album I ever owned.

Yes, he made himself to look like a freak. Even I, a fan, made "when Michael Jackson was black" jokes. And yes, he made some profoundly questionable decisions in his personal life. All that aside, no one can deny his overwhelming talent and amazing level of skill. He truly was the King of Pop, and I miss him terribly. His music will live on, however--both in our popular culture, and in my heart. As I've already posted on another board: "The King of Pop is dead. Long live the King!"

I'm sad that I live in a society where wealth can buy freedom, and a lack of wealth can lead to a denial of freedom, regardless of guilt or innocence.

Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say.

I'm glad we live in a world where tabloid journalism can be taken at face value.

We all know he just comes back as a glowey eyed zombie anyways.

can't give it a rest when he is proven not guilty

Looks like someone doesn't understand the difference between not guilty and innocent.

Not Guilty

verdict after trial by judge sitting without a jury or by jury (unanimous decision in all but two states, which allow a verdict by only 10 of the jurors), stating that the prosecution has not proved the defendant guilty of crime or that it believes the accused person was insane at the time crime was committed.

Innocent

1. free from moral wrong; without sin; pure.
2. free from legal or specific wrong; innocent of the crime.
3. not involving evil intent or motive: an innocent misrepresentation.
4. not causing physical or moral injury; harmless: innocent fun.
5. devoid (usually fol. by of): a law innocent of merit.
6. having or showing the simplicity or naiveté of an unworldly person; guileless; ingenuous.
7. uninformed or unaware; ignorant.
8. an innocent person.
9. a young child.
10. a guileless person.
11. a simpleton or idiot.

Forums must be the most innocent places on Earth, then.

A very sad week. Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, and now Michael Jackson.

Poor man.

He had a bad start, but for a while there (the 80s of course) it looked like he was clearing up a bit, but unfortunately it went downhill. My heart goes out to the guy because the media literally bombarded him for his choices.

Well, Rest in Peace Miachel.

RIP MJ, I hope more people will remember him as the king of pop rather than for other things that he did. =/

Sorry, but this subject causes too much controversy. Locking it
