^awsome, thanks for the explanation....man i hate being a n0ob...lol

[/ QUOTE ]

You are not a n0ob, as you have shown a willingness to listen and learn

Newb maybe, but certainly not a n0ob.

[/ QUOTE ]

This.

The spelling difference makes ALL the difference.

A newb is a new player. Being aware that they don't know much about the game a newb will ask questions and listen to the answer.

A n00b, on the other hand, may or may not be a new player. The one thing they all have in common is they are absolutely convinced they know everything about the game and that everyone else is wrong.

Interestingly enough, n00bs are the people most often seen calling people n00bs.

Kinda surprised that it wasn't one of the first responses to your question. Only thing is, I'd be careful looking around over there, I'm not sure how they treat the various spoilers in the game.

The Abrams is one of the most effective war machines on the planet. - R. Lee Ermy.

Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?

A: You crash into another one.

I always just did circles around the Royal Refinery. That worked out well for me getting those pesky Lost.

Sometimes, I impress my boss. Sometimes, I impress myself. The rest of the time, I scare people. I can live with that.

Yeah, if you're wanting to be "suprised" by a story twist or not know what is going to happen next, I'd use ParagonWiki sparingly the *first* time you roll through the game for the best experience--that is, of course, unless you're in a rut!

Once you've gone through "it all" though, I advise using ParagonWiki all the time! :P

So then is a nub a newb or a n00b, or something else entirely??

My favorite place to find Lost in KR is along the northern edge on the NE corner of the map, the shorter side of the zone, just west of the smoke stacks. These should be around level 7. If you go up to the very top of the zone they are typically level 9s.

A nub is a tiny protrusion, usually of the body of a human or a tree.

Newb > n00b > nub.

Nubs are like what n00bs can call noob, because they phail even at n00bness. Or, are simply being insulted by jerks outside the nub/n00b/newb circle.

"Get an epic mount, nub!"

awsome!! my next question was actually if anyone could tell me what they look like since i've probably past them a bunch of times just wasnt sure what i was looking for....much respect!

[/ QUOTE ]Actually, the picture Nev put up is about as good a description as you can get for Lost of your level. The homeless guys in the shot are the Lost Minions, the bug guy with the TV head are the Lieutenants, and the monstrosity on the soapbox is what the bosses look like.

Minions and LTs mostly use pistols, shotguns and the like, with a few of the lieuts packing huge glowing swords. The bosses have a bunch of Psi powers, controls and blasts, so watch yourself if you don't have Break Free's or a mez protection power.

More details can be found here.

I always thought that nubs were just n00bs that couldn't even spell n00b, let alone anything coherent.

Edit for another note on newb/n00b difference:

Newbs questions are usually spelled more or less correctly.

N00bs, on the other hand, seem to be stretching to achieve a 1st grade reading level.

i hav a lvel 50, i r uber @ this gaem -and- i r 2 1337 4 u r gud exam....dammit, are good examples of n00bish.
